Oh but he does. Even if it is a little, the Istari do age in their features. Chris Tolkien himself says this (J Tolkien's notes) as The Istari continue to be, although their facial features will show age and the pains of Humans.

I dont think they have to film the hobbit but it would be good if they had the hobbit so that people could by the whole set films.(when it eventually comes out)  :)

the distribution rights are even more complicated than that

UA own the distribution rights for the US, but not the Rest of the World... SOOOOoooooo New Line could make The Hobbit and distribute it to us..... ;D  and not the Americans... maybe let them fight it out in court ???

(probably a bit too complicated ;))

THAT trailer was brilliant!

bbut it was the clever work of someone who cobbled together the FOTR trailer and the trailer from Reign of Fire, and stuck LOTR music over it!

Flippin brilliant I think..... but a hoax nonetheless :(

If that is the case, New Line wouldnt consider making it without the income from the US, it's almost as much as the rest of the world put together. Nor would another studio consider it without world wide distribution rights, as that's just such a huge chunk of money to throw away.

Does Tolkiens Grandson hold the rights does he?

'The trees and the ents' said Treebeard. 'I do not understand all that goes on myself, so i cannot explain it to you. Some of us are still true Entsand lively enough in our fashion, but many are growing sleepy, going tree-ish, you might say."
