Is anyone going to see the Two Towers in April or Return of the King in September? Lessa and I saw the Fellowship of the Ring last year at the Albert Hall with live orchestra instead of a sound track. Really interesting to see the music performed live and there was a talk by Howard Shore before hand about some of the musical effects he created.

Ooo that sounds funky! How did I not know this was happening? My only 'live' experience of the LotR music is the extra DVD that came with the RotK EE when it first came out. Which isn't really live, I guess.  So do they just like project the film in the background and play over it? It's birthday time in April, hehe. Unless it's sold out...?  |

Check out the tickets here. Yes, they project the fillm onto a massive screen and have the orchestra below. Because of all the special musical effects it's a very big orchestra. |

I'll just add that it was a magical experience seeing the film and having the musicians playing live.

Went to see The Two Towers last night - fantastic experience. Had shivers running up and down my back for some of the solos. Place was completely packed out and the roar that went up when Howard Shore came on stage was deafening. Return of the King is in September and we're already booked for that - can't wait!

wow, I havent posted here for ages!!!! I went to see FOTR at Albert hall, but missed TT. I have already got my tickets for ROTK. It is so fantastic to see it with the live orchestra. I cant wait!!!!

I'd love to experience something like this! But I've not seen anyplace near me that is doing it.. My Dad told me about them showing movies on the lawn of the Mall in DC.. But that's a little far..
