Well, i sat there and debated for a while on what i really like most as i'm a bit of a mixture of things, but i guess my true loyalty lies with Country Music. I'm very fond of alot of country music, from Keith Urban, Little Big Town, The Wreckers, Billy Ray Cyrus, Poverty Neck Hillbillies, Rascal Flatts, Sara Evans, Rodney Atkins.. i guess i could go on and on and on naming artists in that area.

But to counteract it, i'm pretty much found of people from other areas too, Bryan Adams, Jon Bon Jovi and Goo Goo Dolls just to name a few! but yea i'm jabbering now, i've chosen country music..

I'm a NUTTER!

OK first of all, I would like to thank Edge for telling everyone exactly what
Trivium are about and I totally agree with everything you say about them.
And oh my gosh, the "there we are then" got mentioned..sorry that made me
smile cos I say that like all the time haha.

Anywho, back on topic. Can I ask who said that Alkaline Trio are emo?
Seriously. Are you kidding me? They are not emo. Their older material is
definitely punk, it's obvious. Their newer stuff I will admit is mellow but
it's damn good and it's more rock than emo IMO.

I'm afraid to say that Heavy Metal/Thrash Metal/Death metal whatever you wanna call it has to be the most popular of all really. Favourite bands of mine are Chimaira, God Forbid, Slayer, Satyricon, Pantera, Children of Bodom etc etc.

I listen to so much its confusing for myself:

Heavy Metal
Metal
Nu-Rock
Classic Rock
...Proper Rock... wow I can tease my friends saying I listen to proper music :P
Alternative (according to itunes :S)
J-Rock

Most of this derived from living with brothers... while everyone was listening to S Clud 7... I was listening to Metllica by age 3  ::)

It is, it's just being called "studenty alternative" :P

Indie's probably one of my favourites too, along with metal (although I don't like all that screaming stuff.. I like Iron Maiden, Nightwish, Within Temptation.. That kind of thing :P) and classic rock (or proper rock as you called it)

Ohh, then that.

Well, I'm in love with the Beatles right now.

And a more... experiment/Latin-esque rock, like the Mars Volta.  xD

I like the screaming stuff, sometimes.  "Screamo"  xD

Whoever mentioned J-Rock, I officially like you very much lol.
J-Rock, yes rather under-rated and all that but it is really amazing.
I've recently got into a lot of Industrial music. Bands like:
Hanzel und Gretyl
Deathstars
Mortiis
Nine Inch Nails
Die Warzau
Yalewen
Ranger of the North

That's a hard one, I love pretty much anything from heavy metal to dance really. Aslong as it's got a good beat I like it. I'd say either "proper rock" (as you've said) or heavy metal would be my overall most listened to genre though. Or maybe ska, you can't beat ska! I like the smaller lesser known ska groups though, local bands for example.

I could only vote for one, so i went with heavy metal. I like rock as well, and alternative, and classical too, and loads of other stuff. So you couldnt possibly put my tastes down to one genre.

Sorry to burst your bubble there but I hate Ska.
I just find it really bland and boring.
I also hate Indie or "studenty alternative" music as well.

Genres for me are:
Heavy Metal
Classic Rock
J-Rock
Industrial
Metalcore
Hardcore Punk
Psychobilly
Rockabilly
Grindcore
Death Metal
Black Metal

^^ They are the best genres IMHO.

No, they're not the best genres, they're the genres you like, there's a difference. :)

I hate to ruin the magic
I hate to kill the dream
but once you've been behind the scenes then you'll know just what I mean
you might think that its cool to get up on stage
and play rock and roll from your heart and soul
but no one shows up and your songs all suck
and theres no applause and no flying bras
no girls will scream for you and no ones gonna sing along with you

Seriously, if I was stood on a cliff and somebody started playing My Chemical Romance, NOTHING would stop me taking that jump! :P

They were OKAY until they got commercialised into the whole 'Oh look at me I'm EMO!' thing ::)
