I know this is not technically the right board for this thread, but my dear little moderator friend says he will sort it out for me, novice that I am...

My fiance and I are fervent dressing-up fans, and we are getting hitched next year in Aragorn & Arwen style outfits (I will post pictures of the costumes when I have some!)

He bought an Aragorn Ranger coat from the US and recently wore it to the Fellowship Festival, where it met with much acclaim.  However, he has decided that it is a bit too big for him, and he wants to buy another one with a better fit for the wedding.

The original coat is currently selling on eBay.  If anyone is interested in it, here is the link.  I will caution you that it is around £400, but that is how much it cost him to buy and import from America (the import duty was £125!!!!).  If anyone were to buy it directly from the website that sells them, it would cost around the same.

Now yes, the Ranger Coat is amazing!!!

To tell you the truth, me and some friends were planning to try and get it off him!

but it wqas the most spectacular coat in the world, I have a few pix of Alex in it, so when i can find them i wll post them on here, but it is a very good quality coat and worth every penny!!!

I just wish I had enough spare cash to buy it for myself!!!

i would spend all the money i have got if me mum didnt say that it is babyish to have costumes at my age (12 nearly 13) and can any1 help with an excuse i can give her to get me 1?

i dunno, theres something about going to a lotr convention, or meeting up with other lotr friends to do something lotr ish....  and.... gettting into the feel of it all... getting into, what for me, is an obsession.....

sadly, its just gotta be done!

HA!  we all if we're real fans and true to our hearts, wish we were in the movies and got to dress the part.... maybe this is the only way we can come close to it

Ooh me too - I LOVE to dress up in lotr clothes... Next time you all have a meet where you dress up, im coming and im going to get my friend to make the Aragorn outfit for Gilly I'll just be going as an elf (Naturally )

My cousin, Archer Queen, is absotively fantabulous at costumiery, she's made me a corset for christmas (we need to get you back down here honey, I want that corset I does  ) and made me a galadriel dress previously.

As for my creations, I won the first AOTR costume contest for best overall costume at the sherwood meet, in my luthien dress  I also wore my sage green cloak and a galadriel inspired elf crown

Why do you want to ask your mother for such a thing .Its obvious that she won't stand you in this particular matter.
If you are so sure about buying the custom, get a part time job. I think you are old enough to do that

Costuming is a great outlet-I've done alot of stuff-right now I'm working on an Elrond headdress for a friend at work.  He made such an absolutely lovely getup.  It's giving me fits at the moment.   I have to have it ready for Halloween.

  If I could afford to do so, I would buy costumes..  Also, if I had the talent I would make them for myself..  But alas, I have neither money nor talent.. 

  I'm surprised nobody has posted any pictures for us to see..
