I love the 1st chapter in the Hobbit. Just the descrition makes you picture the Hobbit hole, and i love the bit when all the dwarves are arriving and poor Bilbo gets very confuzed!

I know what you mean Goldberry. When I read the first chapter I just couldnt stop smiling and that pure decription left me with a happy personality all day! It really set me into a good mood.  Edit: And well done Goldberry. Dwalin is correct!!!! Obviously you already knew this. |

You know what i think Hobbits are?
Little people caught in a wave of confusion, like the wraiths in the chase scene in FOTR, i actually found the hobbit too slow for me, draning on for 2 pages of description, i hate that, prob coz im a fasty but hey, then i picked it back up and read it, gollum's little talks to himself,
'stupid hobbitses! we hates them curse them!'
soo funny!
Cant remeber much frm chap 2, aint read it in ages, no point now, both my versions of LOTR and Hobbit r fally apart.

Not read this for a while so a little rusty. As I recall Tolkien goes into a lovely description of Bagend and Bilbo's cosy life then he meets Gandalf one morning after breakfast..... His life is never the same again.

I like the way that the story transists from being light and airy...suddenly to become dark, mysterious and red lighty.....lol. Those trolls are weird..yet very funny! Thorin is a bit of a hardcase, eh? |
