Is up and booking for those who are in London in August with children and fancy a theatre trip.  I've booked daughter into see Horrid Histories (her current obsession) and Singing in the Rain and middle son to see Yes Prime Minister and One Man Two Guvners.  Sadly Matilda and War Horse are both sold out, otherwise I'd have booked those.

I then went a bit mad, looked at the Globe and saw they were doing Twelfth Night with Mark Rylance.  I couldn't get into see it at the Globe but it's transferring to the Apollo for Christmas so I managed to bag a couple of seats for then.  Not a Kids Week booking, so full price.

I've now hidden my credit card before it blows up

Horrid Histories was on Saturday - short show - running time of one hour, but very good.  Daughter is addicted to the TV series but said there were some bits she didn't know.

I'd also booked to see The Wizard of Oz.  Very technical production.  The Wicked Witch and Scarecrow were excellent.  Rest of the cast were also good - especially Toto.  They had a black out half way through the first half so we had an impromptu interval while they reset the special effects.

Boys went to see One Man Two Guvnors and Yes Prime Minister and all three went to see Spamalot.   Eldest liked One Man best and the two younger ones preferred Spamalot.  *sigh*  you do your best to drag them up proper ...

This evening daughter and I went to see Singing in the Rain, complete with rain.  Really enjoyed this one - cast seem to be having a good time and the audience responded by giving them a standing ovation.

Rounded off Kids Week by taking daughter and her friend to see Shrek.  Basically the movie plus some songs and dances but good fun none the less.  The guy who played Lord Farquart walked around on his knees with fake short legs hanging from his waist.  Allowed him to do some fun "stunts" as a result.  The dragon was excellent - played by four puppeteers moving an enormous dragon around the stage - and in the second half she flew.

Going to miss heading off to the theatre on a near weekly basis   :'(
