Apart from the obvious  some things NEVER change!    I now have a passion for African djembe drumming.... love it

So if the internet breaks down you can still keep in touch?  Neat.  How did you get into it?

Funnily enough I went to a presentation evening a few years ago and in the break there were these drummers.  They gave out leaflets to say it was free and a drum was supplied.... so I took myself along and got into it basically.

Now, they drum at my school with the kids and I also belong to Kotu Drummers, which can be found on facebook if you want to take a look

So thats how it happened, and Im glad it did too!!

I love how sometimes random choices can lead to life enhancing things.  I've recently joined a choir, having always thought I had a good voice but never having gotten around to doing anything about it.  I rapidly discovered there is way more to it than that and that I know none of the things I should so I'm on a very steep learning curve but it's great fun.

Thats excellent Anne, but I know what you mean, I really would like to learn an instrument properly, so now I have a bit more time on my hands its just a case of choosing which really.  Would love to play clarinet but the instruments are so expensive!

I like writing, mostly little bits of nonsense and I put some of it on a blog.  Then I thought that blogs always seem a bit self-important, so I haven't been to it for yonks.  I don't think it matters, though, as nobody could have found or read it anyway.

Other than that, I do like knitting but these days it is quite an expensive hobby.  I also like fitness and workouts and I wish I'd found that out earlier. I might have been Jane Fonda.

I have in the past tried to be musical, but I just don't have the genes.  I tried to learn the piano by teaching myself from a book, and that didn't work very well.  I have very stubby hobbity hands and spatulate digits, so instrument playing is very hard for me with my lack of dexterity.

I like walking around and thinking about things   Does that count as a pastime? 

I also play an MMORPG called City of Heroes.  Have done for a few years now.

Baths, sleep (oh how I miss it), cinema or films at home, concerts, xbox, cooking when I have time, reading, drawing, swimming, a walk once in a while

  I'd love to learn how to play an instrument..  I took piano lessons once upon a time, but it didn't stick..  I thought I was gonna do voice lessons instead, that didn't pan out though..    I love to sing and I used to sing at church (it was a very small church), but I stopped when I started having anxiety issues..  I'd love to take lessons; but I can't read music anymore, so it'd be starting from scratch..
