How come Africa gets cool animals and we just get terrified rabbits and the odd fox here and there? (Yes that is my assessment of the entire scope of British wildlife. )

On the holiday note: I'm going to New Zealand for a month in July!!!

Edit: It made the word r a b b i t s into a line of big jumping... well, rabbits! What the hell?!

I will. I need to get a camera first, though. This is going to be an incredibly expensive trip, actually, even though it's through a student volunteer organisation thing. I almost died when I saw the cost of the flights.

But yeah, you do two weeks of voluntary conservation work, then two weeks of what they call 'Adventure Activities' - sky-diving, bungee-jumping, white-water rafting, glacier hike etc. AND there is mention of a possible 'Lord of the Rings Horse-Riding Tour'...

Sorry - totally off topic, but I just saw LINK in Del's profile and had a sudden flashback to ... was it the exhibition meet where everyone kept saying "link"?

I'd love to go to New Zealand, but don't think I can afford it any time soon

  My wife and I took a weekend getaway to New York City last Thurday - Sunday. We saw "The Addams Family " musical, "Hair", and "Promises, Promises". Also went to the Museum of Modern Art where, in addition to van Gogh's "Starry Night" and Picasso's "Musicians" there was a special exhibit of Tim Burton's work, with lots of his movie props/ costumes/puppets.
  That and just the cool factor of standing in Times Square after the show lets out at 11:30 and it's bright as day with the 5 storie video billboard and all the other lights. A great time was had, believe me!

  Thanks!    The trip was enjoyable some of the time (like when I was sleeping!) and sometimes not (like when we were babysitting all five of my niece and nephews!)..

  But we did make it back safe and I would say "sound," but we're not necessarily very sane..

A whole 18 days off work, can't wait!
