blink blink!  I say Lessa, I cannot even COMMENT about that one!

I would say though that they couldnt really see could they?  Although I suppose they had eyes in life, and they would STILL have eyes they were of little use to them.

Just to go back to the lesser wraiths thing.  I'm not sure there would be that many of them around.  In order for them to try and turn Frodo they had to stab him and have the point of the sword come off in his wound.  I would imagine that a "normal" wound would have been a nasty thing and might have led to all sorts of healing problems, but it seemed to be the point of the sword left in the wound that caused the victim to turn really pale.

was it that, or just the fact that they were stabbed by a Morgul blade ?  did some of the blade have to be left behind ?

I think it would have to be.  They talk about the blade point working its way towards Frodo's heart and how he would have become a wraith if it had reached it.  After the point was removed he had a nasty wound that didn't properly heal but there was no longer any threat of him turning.
