How did I do ... what? Know the age of the artifact? Well that's not too important at the moment. We found something that we hadn't previously noticed. It's a finely etched script encircling the central gem.

*hands over paper copy of the text

[~London~]

"I'm already working on the translation. I do do this for a living McKay."

"She's not answering. Did Jack say where he was going?"

"Uh......I don't think so."

"I'll just page him."

[Gollum]

I believe his quest for food would lead him to the canteen.


In the canteen, Jack is about to tuck in to a large slice of strawberry cheesecake when his pager goes off.

*mumbles something inaudible and goes back to eating.

A minute later, it goes off again.

Can't a guy eat in piece?
*tosses pager into nearby bin

[~London~]

Sam walks into the mess. "Colonel you didn't answer your page."

"Anything else McKay? Or are you done being a......what would Jack call you?.......oh. A smart ass."

[Gollum]

Oh that's right, any time I know something, or can point out an error, that automatically makes me a "smart ass".
I can see when I'm not welcome.

*turns round and accidentally knocks some papers on the floor. McKay pauses, mumbles something inaudible, and goes out the door.

It was disturbing my lunch. But now you're here, what was it you wanted?

[~London~]

"It's Kaylee Sir. She didn't answer her phone or the pages."

"Good now that he's gone I can get to work."

He picks up the papers and as he stands up he pauses looking at one of the papers in his hand. "When did I get this?"

[Gollum]

Well maybe she's gone out. She must be getting close to having a normal life around here by now.
Don't look at me like that.
 
You want me to go and find her don't you. That's why you're here isn't it.

It's unlike you to overlook something. Perhaps Dr. McKay left it behind when he left ??

[~London~]

"I don't thik so Teal'c. He wouldn't have got these results."

"Sir Kari said she was comeing in and she should have been here already. The General wants you to go check on her."

[Gollum]

Does it help to identify the artifact?

Very well then. Any ideas where she'd be?
*gets up to leave

[~London~]

"Try their house and mine and any of her favorite places."

"Not really. But it does identify this marking. It's ancient."

[Gollum]

Will do. Fancy a trip with me?

In that case can you make out what it means?

[~London~]

"No. I need  Kali. I can translate ancient if it's spoken but Kali is still teaching me how to read it properly."

"I suppose I could help. That way maybe we'll find her faster."

[Gollum]

Especially seeing as though I have no idea where she goes in her free time.

[~London~]

"Actually there is some footage from SG-12's last mission of those ruins. I belive the symbols are Goa'uld."

"She doesn't get much free time sir. She gets less than we do."

[Gollum]

Less than we do??! We'll have to sort that out when we get back. Maybe I could take her fishing one day.

I have indeed seen the footage and I do not believe that there was much of importance. Perhaps it would be a better idea to have a proper look at them
