my favourite quote!!

my favourite quote goes something like...'To the world you may just be one person, but to me, you mean the whole world'. I saw that written on a pub wall and i just loved it.

Another Pratchett quote...'If I fell off a cliff I'd have to ask for directions on the way down' along those lines anyway...

I think there are some pretty good ones out there (particularly in Dan Brown's books), but, I like to stick with the old favourties...

That's one of my favourites too. That, and James Dean's "dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today".
It doesn't sound as good out of the context of the poem, but I also like "and though we cannot make our sun stand still, yet we will make him run" - by whoever wrote To His Coy Mistress (even if his motives for saying it might have been slightly questionable )

 This is a quote from a song from the rock era. It is spoken, not sung. Unfortunately, I can't remember the artist or the name of the song! (Maybe some of the other old farts in this room can help me.)
  The singer/narrator is eating a big greasy burger in a dive of a place when he realizes that sitting on the stool next to him, is a Martian.
