What If Gollum hadnt died ?

 That's true, Gollum had long been corrupted by the Ring..  He would most likely be too far gone to go back to being Smeagol again..  That's really rather sad..  I'm generally a pessimist, but I'd like to hope that a person can always be redeemed and can come back from being so evil..

Me too, especially in the case of Gollum who, in several different instances, seemed to be having an internal struggle between his nice side and his nasty side.

  For the first time ever, I pity him..  Must've been a sucky existence to only think about the Ring and to have your whole world revolve around it..  There must've been times when he felt guilty for killing Deagol, too..  How sad to have that "legacy" and to never be able to give up the one thing corrupting his life..

Apparently Andy Serkis is a bit of a method actor, and for the role he tried to put himself in the mindset of a heroin addict...constantly wanting something even though you know it is killing you.

  Really?  That's interesting..  He did very well at playing Gollum, I must say..
