Just to announce that we here at lotrUK are having a comp on all forums of Lotr Fan art, whether it be poems, Paintings, sketches oanything else, we are judging it!!

The winners and maybe a few extras will be put on the main site for everyone to see!!

If you'd like to take part, please IM your entries to either Myself or EG and we will get it sorted for you.

The winning entries will be coming on the site by the end of the month, and I'm sure we will be able to find somewhere for all the others as allo the entries so far have been really good!!

I painted an army of Elves from the Games Workshop's Lord of the Rings miniatures line, would that be deemed OK for entry mate? I have Gil-Galad, Haldir and Elrond and about 42 Elves in different poses alltogether that I could take pictures of if I can just find a nice background setting.

I've painted loads of Lotr figurines from Games Workshop too, I haven't got any pictures on them though. I've done the Fellowship and a few others, like Gil-Galad, Elrond, Arwen, Galadriel, Tom Bombadill, Goldberry, Shelob, a couple of orcs and Faramir of course

How long have you been painting GW Lotr figurines Edge? Do you game aswell?

I do indeed, although not too much, I'm just trying to get to grips with the rules at the minute, as I've spent most of the time painting.

I started in 2002 for collecting them, I had more money than sense back then, so I went crazy and bought about 80 Uruk Hai with a Captain and Standard  (Later got Ugluk and Lurtz thanks to the Battle Games in Middle Earth magazine.  )


I've collected a whole load of stuff over this few years; 8 Khazad Guard Dwarves, Balin and Dain Ironfoot, 43 Elves of differing types with Haldir, Elrond, Gil-Galad, Elladan, Elrohir and Glorfindel as their Heroes, a bunch of Gondorians with Boromir, a few rangers and a lot more that I have put away for later.

Out of all of those, only half the Uruks are done; every Elf is either done, or has fine details left to them; the Dwarves are complete and the Gondorians are very nearly done too.


Have loads of unpainted heroes too like a Troll, Witchking, Merry, Eowyn, Gandalf, horsie heroes, Denethor and a bunch of Mordor orcs and Moria goblins with heroes that I've not bothered with.

More stuff than I know what to do with.....

Shall finish the Gondor force next I hope.


Painting some Space Marines too that I bought when I was 12 and decided to get out of the box and finish! It's kinda eating up my time at the moment!


So yeah, about two maybe three years, and never have I finished an entire army.....going to ASAP for the competition though. 


Ohhh, Shelob'd look amazing- that and the Fell Beast looks fantastic too!
