Please be prepared to write a starting post for your topic including a bit of background information and your own thoughts on the subject and then send it to the debate board mods via IM, so that we can then open the topic. Topics can also be started confidentially if you prefer, so no-one need know it was you. Please say so in your IM if you would like us to omit your name from the post

How about a debate on miracles?
I mean everyone has their own interpretations of a "miracle" and whether or not they are real right?!

I have recently read in The Sun about three teenage girls who had
kids or something (one of the girls being 12 when she had her child)
and I feel that this would be an interesting debate to see what
people think about this and teenage pregnancy especially (I have
not noticed a topic about teenage pregnancy on here).

i belive that there should be a debate on america, as a whole. what people think of it. i dont think much of america myself. good thing im in england. so, what do you people think?

Since this forum welcomes members from all round the world, I think we wont be debating that!

 Apologies for not having proposed the topics I have started previously, hope it hasn't caused a major problem with some sicne I just noticed I can't start new topics here (even tho this was the only board I felt inspired to start topics in)

I would like to propose a topic conserning religion - Islam for examole, do you really think Islam is the basis of terrirism or not. I'm a muslim myself, so I don't think someone will be offended. Now we all must be friens & make clear that neither God nor Allah which is just the same wants war. Why not talk about it. Moreover do you think religion must have more obvious effect on people than it has now? Do we have to bring up our children minding religion, maybe this way we can defend them from alcohol, drugs, & many other awful things

Well, religion can be a very touchy subject.  Personally, I don't see anything wrong with having a debate on it but there may be some who might be offending by what others say.

The best thing I can do is to start a poll and gather up information on what people think on the subject and whether it should be debated or not.

I just thought, may be it shouldn't be a topic, but I don't know where else should I place this message. The point is - do you think it's real to invent, better to say build or construct something like Tolkienworld? Like Disneyworld? Imagine how great it might be!!! It will be located in England, of course...any ideas?

  Here's my question, and would it be a good topic?
  After Chirac made that comment about British food, I wondered why British food has that reputation in the rest of Europe. Now I'm in America, and I realize that our contribution to modern cuisine includes McDonald's and Kentucky Fried Chicken - so I'm used to the ribbing - but why Britain? (Besides haggis, that is?)
  I've never been to Great Britain, so can someone fill me in?

  Also, do you think his offhand comment contributed to Paris losing the bid for the 2012 Olympics?
