  & I'm liking Locke even more every episode..  He seems like such a cool guy..  I think it was great how he helped Charlie with his decision to quit drugs for good..  And also Jack who was helping Charlie with his withdrawal..

I'm not entirely convinced he's as benign as he seems, he's a little too capable, he knows a little too much, he's a little too cool and calm and in charge, no one in that perfect, there has to be something wrong with him.  ;)

I guess I didn't make that very clear, did I? ::) :-[  Sorry...I was talking about Locke.  And I don't know if I think he's evil or bad, but I do think there is a lot about him we don't know yet that could completely change who and what he is.

 ..hehe..  :P

  I know what you mean..  I'm reminded of that scene (in an older episode) that showed where he was on the phone with a woman and at first you think it's an ex-wife or something of that sort, but you find out that it's some kind of fantasy chat 800 number..  ???

  Do you remember that?  :-\

I do remember that and the whole thing about him being paralyzed and then regaining the use of his legs after the accident is just bizarre, there is so much more going on with him than meets the eye.

 That "miracle" has more to do with the island though..  That's playing into the whole mysteriousness and weirdness of the island itself more than what might be going on with Locke..

  Though I do agree with your statement..  There's more going on with most of the characters than what meets the eye..

I thought the last episode where Charlie throws his drugs in the fire was really powerful...he's become a good role model for kids..and the moth flying off was a definite plus ;)

 Indeed..  & Yes, the moth flying off was a real bonus..  For a minute there at the end I thought the moth would do like any real moth would do!  :o  Which is fly right into the flames of the fire!  :(

  But it didn't, so all's well..  ::)  ;D

 It'll be interesting and chaotic, I think..  I don't know how things'll turn out, but I s'pose we'll see..

 Did anyone else have mixed feelings between feeling sorry for Sawyer (who isn't really Sawyer :-\) and despising him at the same time by the end of the show?!  :o

  Maybe that's just me..  Although, when I think about it .. though his childhood was really, really tragic I still cannot dismiss who he is and what he's done..  He turned into the very man he hated so much for ruining his life..

  But he did walk away..  When he realized he was about to do what Sawyer had done to his family so many years before, he called off the deal and walked away..

  Hmm, tis very complicated..  Poor, tortured souls do I feel sorry for, yes..  Especially ones as hot as this one..  ::)[/color]

I do feel sorry for Sawyer, although I've always been a sucker for the bad boys. ::) :P  He certainly has done some very awful things and a rotten childhood doesn't justify that but there is also serious potential there.  I think he has a good heart, he just makes really bad decisions. ::)

Adding on to the i-feel-sorry-for-sawyer train... so far, he may be the most interesting person, psychologically.  I mean, he's become the man who caused the deaths of his parents... perhaps that's why he plays the bad guy, and why he keeps practically asking for the punishment... well, it may just be in his nature now, but a theory i have is that he's taking the punishment in a way because he thinks the Real Sawyer deserves it.

That was a really long sentence and i don't think i expressed myself quite as well as i would like to.  Hm.

Side note:  Jack and Kate may be King and Queen of the Island Prom, but Charlie and Claire are officially the cutest couple.
Though i wouldn't like to see them in an actual romantic relationship on the show.  A very caring, sweet friendship would be enough.

 :P  Pft..  T'wasn't your fault, Tig..  ::)

  I didn't reply because I'm very often very inarticulate anymore and I don't like sounding the fool..  :-X

  I know exactly what you mean about Sawyer and I concur..  It's the same as what happens to a lot of kids who suffer from child abuse..  Though they loathe the act that was done to them and how it made them feel, they often don't break the cycle of child abuse; they're the ones most likely to abuse their own children as adults..  Kind of messed up and I couldn't even begin to understand it, but it's the same idea..  Sawyer, though he wanted nothing more than to get revenge on the guy who messed up his life, became the man he hated more than anything..

Geez, I haven't come on this thread for so long. Last time I posted here I hadn't known much more about the show than my grandma did, however, now I've seen and taped every epsiode up to last week's. Have a lot more knowledge on what's going on now.

The Confindence Man episode has to be my favorite. I absoutely love Sawyer. Well, maybe not love, but he's my favorite character out of the show. And I wrote a huge paragraph explaining why he was acting like such a jackass on another board. Lemme find it . . .

Sure he's a bad, manipulating person, but he had a rough childhood. Any kid that had a parent kill the other and then committ suicide isn't gonna wind up all right in the end, especially if he found out what it was all about. Perhaps he caught the real Sawyer in the act and told his dad. Whatever the case, Sawyer is a very complex character. He swore to himself that he would make sure the real Sawyer would know what he did to him, he would hunt him down. And then, in the process, he was so caught up into meeting Sawyer that he didn't realize what he was doing to himself until he saw that kid. It took one kid to make him realize that he was just as bad as Sawyer, probably even worse. That, in my eyes, is a tragic character. To know you've become what you hated so much, everything you tried not to be, you now are. I'd be a jackass to everyone too if I was under the same situation. He was trying to redeem himself if Jack had let him bleed out. Then he wouldn't have been able to hurt anyone again.

I'm really glad he kept the letter though. That show's that he still has hope that he'll get off the island and meet Sawyer one day.

Each character is very complexed within their ownself, and they've all had flaws. And it seems as if they've become what they hated (as in Charlie's case. He saw his big brother wasting his life away and in the end succumbed to becoming a drug head in the end too). Jack had a rocky realtionship with his dad, but look what he became, he followed in the footsteps of his father whether he liked it or not.

Why did Sawyer go through all the trouble just for a kiss? Well, hell, if I knew that everyone hated me just because of the few things I've done, I wouldn't really care either. I mean, seriously, he has no one to go back to. The only thing that should keep him going is that he wants to make it through to give that letter to the real Sawyer one day. So yeah, being a jackass to just get a kiss would be right up his ally. It would probably be something they expected him to do, or at least Kate would expect him to do. What's the point in trying to change when no one will believe you? Remember when he changed his mind about telling Kate about Jack and instead said he wanted to help? Kate didn't take him seriously. I think, that before the episode, if he had asked Jack or something if he could help Jack would have looked at him like he was crazy because he wouldn't be his 'I-do-things-only-for-me' attitude. Everyone's judged him and got him placed in a certain catergory, why ruin their prejudice? Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I wasn't that surprised that he went through all that crap for just a kiss. Ah, hell. I'm rambling too much.

But did anyone see last week's episode? I think I have a very good guess who Alex might be *cackles*
