The choices of Hobbits and Elves

*Seeing that all the Eagles had been taken, Nienna approached Meltharius with a small smile on her face* "Mind if I ride with you?" *She asked. They hadn't really talked since before the battle and Nienna missed his company some what, but she knew that she couldn't put everything aside just for the sake of missing someone*

[Blaen]

"Hop on" said Meltharius emotionlessly. The Eagle was a strong one and could easily bare the weight of two elves but Meltharius was deep in thought. What of Blaen? Could his friend really have died?

*Nienna climbed on behind Meltharius but she had the feeling that his mind was somewhere else, but she decided not to pester him about it. She put her arms around his waist so she wouldn't fall off when they took off*

*Eleclya looked around, it seemed everyone was ready now* "Right, lets go" *She said and with that the Eagle she was on pulled out his strong wings and brought them up into the air, with heavy, but swift beats. The other Eagles followed as he rose higher, leading them.Eleclya leaned forward and held onto the Eagles soft feathers, carefully making sure she didn't pull any out*

as the eagle rose, it wings powerful and strong, cassandra looked back at minus tirith, instead of giving in to the feeling of loss she felt stronger, knowing that by finding rhinvan middle earth could start to rebuild all that been broken

[Blaen]

Meltharius felt a lurch as the bird took to the sky. Nienna's arms were wrapped around his waste but her touch brought him no comfort. He was emotionless, a stone. His eyes were open and stared into the distance, but he saw nothing, nothing but pain. The question that had plagued him his whole life returned. "Why? Why must I endure so much pain?"

As the wind caught Eleclya's face and brushed back her hair, she felt a sense of freedom, although the thoughts of Rhinvan and what could possibly be happening in the Shire pressed her mind, she couldn't help push them aside, just for now. She hadn't felt freedom in a long time, and she welcomed it with open arms.
 She gathered her senses, after feeling a few moments of pure happiness, but now she looked down slightly, through the gaps in the clouds that they soared above and now, after that blast of freedom, she was so determined to find Rhinvan and kill him. But even as she felt this determination, it was crippled by the fact of reality, which was it was unlikely that they would succeed and even if they did, it could well take all of their lives. Eleclya gave a sad sigh and concentrated her gaze on what was in front of her and the Eagle she was now flying on.

[Blaen]

Meltharius cleared his vision. He had no time to reflect, the date of middle-earth lay in their hands. "Elecyla!" he cried to his half-sister. "Be vigilant, there is a chance that some of the dragons may have surived the battle!" he called out. He turned back to Nienna and touched his hand to her cheek. "Soon this will all be over my love" he whispered to her.

As Eleclya heard Meltharius' words she half nodded, mostly to herself, he was right, there were probably Dragon's still about and they would be lucky if they didn't confront any on their journey to The Shire.

Nienna smiled weakly, the touch of Meltharius' hand had comforted her a great deal, but she couldn't help but think that maybe things would be over soon, whether it be in death or victory but neither were certain. She sighed slightly and looked ahead, "lets just hope it will end in victory," she said softly.

While the others were talking, Legolas sat upon the Eagle with his arms wrapped around Cassondras waist protectivly he mearly smiled to himself about everything. Feeling the wind in his face, the smell and touch of someone he loved and the sence that even though the future looked grim there was still a spark of hope. At this thought he squeezed Cassonsra comfortingly and whispered in her ear "I love you" he smiled as he said this, as cheesy as it was it was something he had never felt or said to anyone in this way before....but strangly enough he did not feel embarrest or shy of saying this to her.

cassandra smiled and turned her head slightly over her shoulder, she long brown hair  dancing in the wind, her green eyes soft, "i love you too,"

Legolas smiled again before turning his head round to where they had just left "Sad isn't it....That we will never see that magnificent place as it was before" Legolas sighed then looked over at the horizon "The shire...Have you been there before?" he asked Cassondra cauriously

cassandra nodded, "it's where we pretty much began our journey, it's been so long but i've had nienna through all of it, everything we've faced we've faced together," cassandra answered

(okie, I am just gonna move this on a little bit)

After a long journey the Eagles started to gradually dip through the clouds. The landscape that could be seen below was that of Buckland, "we're nearly there," Eleclya called back to the others as they continued to fall steadily from the sky.
The Eagles circled slightly and came down in a forest on the borders of Buckland, Eleclya climbed down from the Eagles back, slightly stiff and achy from not moving much.

cassandra dismounted and looked up at the eagle, "thank you," she said gratefully and then smiled at legolas still sat on the magnificent bird

[Blaen]

Meltharius jumped off the great bird, bowed respectfully and offered it a piece of lembas bread from his bag. The eagle shook it's head and Meltharius nodded "Very well. I thank you for the haste in which you have brought us here" he said to the eagle.
