we cant read everything.. as much as we try, and beleive me, we do...

we need to know when things are going wrong..

we wont necessarily come in heavy handed... but we are good mediators and we are good at getting RPs and members back on track....

so come on, everyone... we arent the Heavy MOB... we're here to help and to try to make everyone happy :)

OK, that sounds good, but what do you mean by getting RPs back on track?

Arise riders of Theoden!  Spears shall be shaken, shield shall be splintered, a sword day, a red day, ere the sun rises!

Methinks the meaning of that is:

Less arguments, More fun! :)

The roleplay board is here purely for pleasure, and due to the wide interrest (and many, many 'pointless' posts), it had been made zero-post-count; which basically only got a little bit of protest, but obiviously people could see the necessity and reason :)
Anyhow, sometimes people take their roleplaying a little too seriously, and get a little huffy when someone does something in it they do not like. (I, for example, have done so, lol, but I got over it ;) ) Anyway, that's what we mean, some people get all tied up in a knot over an arguement, then threaten to or actually do delete themselves - and it's not good for any of us. If you have a problem - any of you - then please don't hesitate to come to any of the mods. If you are wary of the moderators of this certain board, then talk to EG or Anne. Even if you think a moderator's doing something they shouldn't, then say so! :) However, multiple complaints that are made against a person will be taken seriously. If you do not have proof of a complaint/gesture, then the moderators don't have proof also. If in doubt, take a screen shot :)

Either way, just relax, enjoy. If you want your RP to be invite-only, then IM one of the moderators of this board, and it should be alright. Just follow the guidelines and it'll be all good ;)

Rpers need to remember too... that sometimes their RP loses the direction that the creator(s) of that RP intended.

Rather than get cross and frustrated about it.... take time out.

Post in brackets... HOW you intended the RP to go from here... what sort of characters you expected to have, and how you thought theyd behave..

Take a few posts out... explain and discuss with all the members of that RP...

there;s quite often no need for ppl to get upset... usually its a misunderstanding about how the RP is meant to go.... so.. if you like your RP... do something about saving it and keeping it happy!

I will admit I get seriously annoyed when people twist my lovely plots around. Even if I dont take that long to create them I always have ideas and such and I tell people that I shall explain them in due course.

I also hates it when random people join roleplays which are seriously long. Sometimes it is good especially if the roleplay is lagging. But couldnt they im the creator of the roleplay first to ask their permission instead of just randomly posting stupid things? :8o

Yes roleplays are fun. On my forum (Not trying to brag here  ;)) But we dont allow people to join roleplays which are 5 pages or more unless they are needed. I dont read all of the roleplays as I know they can only get as bad as Frody and Cat's slash ::)

But I think the moderators of this board are very good. Might need a few more seeing as the roleplay board is the one that is mostly used on the forum. Just a little suggestion. :P

Well this is an idea that has worked well on another active roleplaying forum. Its where you don't have character sign ups and the plotline in the same thread, but instead have 2 rp threads.

1 is an AWA (Or A Word Aside Thread) where the plotline is posted and any character sign ups go, along with character sign up and all OCC talk, i.e plotline discussing. Then the second is the actual roleplay itself.

Just a suggestion.

The other thing to remember is that although the mods cant read every page of every roleplay, those who are in the roleplays almost certainly do. If you see something that needs a mods attention they would always be very grateful to hear from you. There can never be enough mods to read every page of every roleplay, but if we do the reading and inform them of the problems, you don't need lots of mods, you just need a few and that is how it should be.

As for your idea Erik hun, its a good thought but I think perhaps roleplay threads could get lost amongst a heap of sign up threads and also then you have to go search else where for character bios when your posting. I know for myself at least Im repeatedly reading others bios and to have to go searching through page after page of roleplays for the sign up thread, which if it has been inactive for a while might have been deleted would be quite annoying. :-\

Basically, if something is bothering you, just let us know!  We don't bite.

We cannot sit here day in and day out reading through all the roleplays, especially when some of the move so quickly. We do have jobs and families and other commitments away from this place, we can't possibly get everything done if we don't get told.

You, the roleplayers are the ones who read every single page and post...so if something is wrong, just give a point in the right direction and we will sort it out.

Ahem, what she meant was they don't bite. I bite. Well, it's more of a nibble.. :-\ ;)

Anyhow, Moreta also summed it up :)
