Title: Civilisation IV
Post by: Mithrandir on May 19, 2006, 02:52:42 AM
Is anyone here familiar with the Civilisation series, and has anyone got the latest game?

Basically, what happens is you play as a country and do what you can as a leader of a country. It's single player and online multi-player.

I play a few forum-based games like this so I am interested to see how this game works, and what other people think of it. It's had some good reviews from magazines and the few people I know who own it says it's good.

Phaw.

I wanted this so badly, got my sibling to pick up a copy for me. Only when I flipped it over the videocard needs Hardware T&L.

The person that invents more modifiable Laptops shall be such a genius. Until then I can keep dreaming about my days in Civ II when a warrior on a fortified mountain sunk three of my battleships...

I LOVE Civ IV.

Its so much fun.

However- keep in mind any advice, comments, concerns I have are coming from a novice. I really do suck at the whole game, but its so much fun that I just don't care.

I have a bad habit of always being ranked against Dan Quail at the end of it. I'm not the best ruler ever.

meh I thought it was a brilliant game like the others before it, though when it drags on to the 20th century things REALLY slow down as you have to wait nearly 5 mins between turns as the AI moves its army in random patrol formations  :8o

True, and the music for that era SUCKS. There is one song though that is played at one point (hell if I can remember which era) that I remembered playing in band.  :D  Such a dork I am.
