((Got this idea from a MacGyver episode))
Plot:SG-1 Brings back an artifact from P3C-274. The artifact is stolen and Daniel, Jack and Sam go after the guy.
Name:Daniel Jackson
Age:mid-30's

Bio/other:Dr. Daniel Jackson is an only child and an orphan. His maternal grandfather and only living relative, Nick Ballard, is currently living on another planet with giant aliens. Daniel is a brilliant archaeologist and linguist who speaks twenty-three languages. He used this knowledge to open the Stargate. On the original mission through the Stargate to the planet Abydos, Daniel met and fell in love with a native woman, Sha're. They accidentally married, but after winning the battle to free the Abydonians from the System Lord Ra, Daniel decided not to return to Earth with the rest of the team. He had finally found a family and wanted to live the rest of his life learning about the culture and history of Abydos, which had many parallels to ancient Egypt.
Daniel's parents, also archaeologists, were crushed while overseeing a piece of Egyptian art being placed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in New York. This caused Daniel much grief during his life. Daniel serves the role of an interpreter when speaking to alien people. He learns languages quickly and has a wealth of knowledge on ancient cultures. Among a team of military officers, Daniel is often the voice of understanding and acceptance of different cultures. He is an optimist and believes in helping people even if it endangers his own life.
During his many adventures with SG-1, Daniel has been captured, infected with alien viruses, killed, brought back to life multiple times, and succumbed to appendicitis.

Bio/other:Kaylee was the only daughter of two high ranking officals. WHen she was only six years old a plague broke out. There was no cure and it was spreading fast. Kaylee's father was the first to get sick shortly after he died she and her mother both became sick. Kaylee's mother died first.
When Athena was 17 she had a sort of vision with a stone ring and seven symbols lit up. She went to the ring of the gods and put in the seven symbols. She ended up on another planet. After a few days on the planet a group of strangers came through the portal. The people of the planet did not speak the language of the strangers But Athena did. When the strangers started to go she begged them to go with them. The leader finally agreed. Athena helped get Jack out of stasis and joined the SGC.

He places honour and duty above his own personal safety, be that for the freedom of the Jaffa, or for the lives of those around him. Without a symbiote, Teal'c has now been driven to live off of Tretonin in order to survive. He also rarely uses whole sentences, tending to opt for those like "Indeed" and "I see".

So what exactly is it?

"It's not dangerous. We just haven't tested to find out what it's made of. I found something like it when I was studying the artifacts from Giza. The ones found near the Stargate. I think it was important to the people............." He looks down at the papers in his hand and trails off.

*whispers to Carter
I think he's bored himself to sleep

Daniel looks up. "What? Oh....No I was just reading this. It's the results from the carbondating on the artifact."

I believe he is annoyed at his lack of participation in fishing due to the recent missions
*Dr McKay enters
In fact, the carbondating of the artifact would suggest is was from a time period 3,500 years prior to that previously thought. Also, the results from the other tests seem to be inconclusive.

Sam looks over at McKay as she dials. Daniel looks up at him slightly surprised. "How did you.......?"
"Kaylee please........"

How did I do ... what? Know the age of the artifact? Well that's not too important at the moment. We found something that we hadn't previously noticed. It's a finely etched script encircling the central gem.
*hands over paper copy of the text

"I'm already working on the translation. I do do this for a living McKay."
"She's not answering. Did Jack say where he was going?"
"Uh......I don't think so."
"I'll just page him."

I believe his quest for food would lead him to the canteen.
In the canteen, Jack is about to tuck in to a large slice of strawberry cheesecake when his pager goes off.
*mumbles something inaudible and goes back to eating.
A minute later, it goes off again.
Can't a guy eat in piece?
*tosses pager into nearby bin

Sam walks into the mess. "Colonel you didn't answer your page."

"Anything else McKay? Or are you done being a......what would Jack call you?.......oh. A smart ass."

Oh that's right, any time I know something, or can point out an error, that automatically makes me a "smart ass".
I can see when I'm not welcome.
*turns round and accidentally knocks some papers on the floor. McKay pauses, mumbles something inaudible, and goes out the door.

It was disturbing my lunch. But now you're here, what was it you wanted?

"It's Kaylee Sir. She didn't answer her phone or the pages."

"Good now that he's gone I can get to work."
He picks up the papers and as he stands up he pauses looking at one of the papers in his hand. "When did I get this?"

Well maybe she's gone out. She must be getting close to having a normal life around here by now.

"Not really. But it does identify this marking. It's ancient."

"No. I need Kali. I can translate ancient if it's spoken but Kali is still teaching me how to read it properly."

"Actually there is some footage from SG-12's last mission of those ruins. I belive the symbols are Goa'uld."

"She doesn't get much free time sir. She gets less than we do."

I have indeed seen the footage and I do not believe that there was much of importance. Perhaps it would be a better idea to have a proper look at them

"SG-12 was going back today. I don't think they've gone yet. Maybe you can go with them."

She walks out of the mess hall. "She's an ancient which means that everything she knows is very imortant. If she can just remember she may be able to tell us what happened to her people and possibly how to defeat the replicators."

Defeating the relicators? Now that would be good. What's happening with Thor and his buddies at the moment?

Daniel sits down at his desk and starts going through the papers that had fallen.

*get's into lift for entrance level floor
So who's driving? You know where she lives, but I'm useless with maps.

"She still lives with Daniel and Kari. I believe she was staying with Kari this time.

Again, my mind goes blank. I know I've been there. She does throw a good party you know.

"Sir Lt. colonel Hunter was supossed to go on a mission today."

She didn't make it?? Then they're probably together somewhere.

Daniel heads to the briefing room taking the artifact with him. He sits down at the table. He looks up as someone enters. "Can I help you?"
The stranger walks up to him picks him up with one hand, takes out the artifact , and throws him though the window. The stranger then leaves.

*in a nearby room, General Hammond is discussing something with a couple of guards when he hears a loud crash. They all look at each other and enter the briefing room to see that the glass has been smashed.

*looks through frame and sees Daniel laying on the floor

I'm not sure Doctor. I heard a loud crash come from the briefing room and when I entered I saw that the window had been smashed. I assume he somehow fell through.

No one really knows. But it appears as though he fell threw the window up there in the Briefing Room.

"The amulet." She runs to Daniel's office and rifles through his desk. "It's not here."

In that case we have a missing amulet on our hands.

Sam walks into the infirmary "How is he Janet?"
"Not to good. He's in a coma."
"Did he have an amulet with him?"
"If he did I didn't find it. Check his personal belongings."

And you there. Make sure no one leaves the base without being searched first.
*heads off in the direction of the infirmary and bumps into Teal'c coming through a door
O'Neill. I was just on my way to the infirmary. Is Daniel Jackson ok? The team was about to head off-world but was delayed when I heard about his accident.
I was on my way down there myself. And we're starting to wonder if it was really an accident.

Sam looks through all od Daniel's pockets. "Janet?"
"Yes Sam?"
"Was his pocket torn like this when you brought him here?"
"I think so. Why?"
"The amulet is missing."
"How important is it?"
"It was an artifact we hadn't finished testing."

What d'you think Carter? An accident or an attack of somesort? At the moment, I'm thinking the second, and I'm not liking it.
And why would someone want it? ...... And has Kaylee still not showed up.
Is it possible that the 2 are linked somehow.

"I'll ask and see if anyone found the amulet and put it somewhere else."

No I do not believe that Kaylee did it, but it's odd that the amulet and the only 2 people who could possibly read the writing on it have either been attacked or are currently missing.

"I'm sure she's alright. She can take care of herself and even if something did happen. She would probably show up and tell us herself."

Well whoever took it is most likely to be long gone by now. But I still want all personel to be searched as they exit the base.
What would one of ours want with it? I know it looked nice, but ... *trails off*
How about the NID? They've had their schemes in the past.

"You're saying you think it was an inside job? Who? You have an idea Sam?"
"Actually yes I do."
"Whats going on? Sam, Jack, Janet? I can't move. Why can't I move?" He looks up. "Nick? What's going on?" Nick walks out the door Daniel gets up to follow him. Nick goes out the door Daniel stops and turns around. "How......" He's still laying in the bed. "Nick?!" He opens the door and goes out into the hall. The door closes behind him. Nickcontinues down the hall. Daniel tries to open the door but it's locked.

"She has been through a lot lately sir. Healing you and Daniel,helping fight the replicators,translating every thing we have that is written in Ancient......."

I know that if I'd taken the amulet, I'd be long gone.

"The only thing is they may not think like you. I think it would me wise to search all personel and their things. Sir."

Not many people think like me.
Very well then. I'll get that airman to extend his search to include everyone, whether entering/leaving the base or on-duty. Meanwhile, we'd better be going. We don't want to keep Teal'c waiting.

Well I could go with you, but it would involve a lot of walking .... no, I think I'll stay here.

Sam gets in the elevator and pushes the button for the surface. She sighs and leans agianst the wall.

Daniel looks back through the door. Janet is standing beside him. He turns and runs after Nick.

Sam closes her eyes and sighs again as the elevator reaches the surface and the doors open. She steps out and goes to her waiting car. She climbs in and drives off.

No, not yet. Just organising a base-wide search.
And Daniel?
Same as he was.
By the way, I've cleared your mission for 08:00.

Sam gets to Daniel's house and knocks on the door. "Kaylee?" She waits for a moment and takes out her kit. She picks the lock and walks in. "Kaylee you here?" She goes through the living room, kitchen, and the study. Empty. She knocks on Daniel's bedroom door. "Kaylee you in there?" She opens the door. The bed is made and everything is in order. She turns around and opens the door to the guest bedroom. The bed is unmade and the room is a mess. Sam checks the bathroom and then goes around to the other side of the bed. "Kaylee." She checks for a pulse and dials the SGC. ((For Hammond.))

General Hammond here ......... Major, what is it?

"Sir I found her. It doesn't look good. The door was locked and the only room that was disturbed was hers. Send a medical team."

I'll send one right away. Are you at Daniel Jackson's place?

"Yes sir." A noise in the next room made Sam jump. She takes her gun out. "I think someone's here still. I'll have to call you back." She hangs up, puts the phone down and quietly walks into the next room.

*hangs up phone and walks out office
Captain, get a medical and a security team to Dr Daniel Jackson's place now. And find me Colonel O'Neill.

The room is empty. Sam moves over to the balcony. She points her gun at the stranger. "Don't shoot!"
"Who are you?"
"I'm nobody."
"NID?"
"I don't hav an ID on me."
"What are you doing here?"
"I came to see Daniel."
"He's at work. Do you know Kaylee?"
"The girl that lives here? I've never acctually meet her. Daniel talks about her some."

*Hammond meets Jack in the corridor on the way to the elevator
What's happening General?
Jack, Sam phoned. She's at Daniel's. She found Kaylee but something's wrong, and she said she's not alone.
I knew I should have gone with her.
*runs on

"What has he told you?"
"That she's a good friend. He said she's helped him out a lot."
"Why are you here exactly?"
"I came to give Daniel this." She holds out a small box. "It got sent to my place by mistake. I think it's from Egypt."
"Greece actually."
"How do you know?"
"I've worked with Daniel for over 7 years." She looks at the package,"I can't belive it."
"What?"
"It's from Kari."

*Jack, a couple of security officers and a medical team eventually arrive at Daniel's.
Sam, are you there? It's Jack.
*Jack knocks on the door and the door swings open
Hellooo?
*Jack and co. enter
You lot, find Kaylee, see how she is. And you 2 ...*facing officers*... search around. Major Carter wasn't alone.

"Who's that?"
"Kari? She's a colonel in the air force. She didn't show up for work today."
"She's in Greece?"
"Or she was and didn't tell us."
"Is someone here?"
"It's probably Jack." She turns and walks back in the house. "Sir?"

*doctor comes up behind Jack
Sir, we've found Kali. It's not good news I'm afraid. We'll need to get her back to base.
Get her out of here then as quickly as possible.
Carter, is that you?

"Yes sir. It's a neighbor of Daniel's she was dropping off a package. It's from Greece." She hands him the package. "Colonel Hunter sent it sir. I think we may know why she didn't come in to work."

So you're ok? *calls back* Stand down men
Oh right. What happened here then?

"The door was unlocked when I came in. I assumed Daniel was home. So I let myself in."
"I picked the lock and didn't lock the door behind me. I started my search for Kaylee. As far as I can tell she was alone."

*faces stranger* So you don't know what happened here? How come you didn't phone for anyone? Kaylee's injured and you just let her lie there.
*pauses a moment
Look, we don't have time for this now. We've got to get her back.

"Sir she came in after I did. I searched all the rooms before I found Kaylee."
"I didn't even know the girl was here. I haven't seen her for a couple of weeks."
"Sir she called in for a couple of weeks off. She said it was to help her get used to...........Colorado."

Oh right, yeah, of course. Can you wrap it up here Carter? I'm going to stick with Kaylee and make sure she's ok.

"Sir? I think someone should try and contact Kari. She may know something."

Are you ok doing that? You knew her better than me. Maybe you can then make some sense of all this.

"I'll need some back up. Any sugesstions?"

Well I suppose I could tag along. Couldn't hurt to do a bit of travelling. Maybe we can get Teal'c (or Murray) to come aswell.

"I wish Daniel could go. I don't know any Greek. We should probably get back and make sure Kaylee's alright before we do anything."
"Who's Teal'c?"
"A friend of ours. He's not from around here."

We'd best check on Daniel aswell. If he's awake, it'll help us clear this up a bit. And we'd better find someone who can understand Greek.

"Good idea sir. You go ahead I'll follow you."

Hmmm, what do you think Hammond would say if I asked for 3 first class tickets to Greece? And are we talking Athens here, or some remote place that no-one's heard of.

"Air force."
"Why is the air force involved in something like this?"
"That's classified information."
"Daniel does this?"
"Yes."
"I'll keep my mouth shut."
"Thank you. What is your name?"
"Talia.
"Thank you for your help Talia."
"Anything for a friend of Daniel's."
Sam and Talia leave. Sam goes to her car and dial's the general again.

General Hammond ...... Major Carter? So what's happening with Kaylee, is she alright?

"They're bringing her in sir. Colonel Hunter hasn't reported in has she?"

I guess that makes sense. And in which case, it'd probably be best to leave her to it, and just for us to keep her vitals steady.

"She should probably be healed enough to go with us. She speaks Greek. Tell the General I'll be there in 5." Sam exits the elevator and goes to check on Daniel.
"Lets get her to the infirmary. I need to run a couple of tests. Colonel."

I wouldn't advise it sir, especially after this recovery, but she should be able to help you tomorrow.

Sam goes to Daniel's room and sits down beside him. "Hey you. We found Kaylee. She should be fine. Not sure if she can help you or not. After what happened in Antacrtica I'm not so sure we should try. She can be very valuable to us. Not that I'm saying you aren't it's just she can help with things you've been working on for years."

Indeed that would make some sense. From what I have learnt of Earth's ancient civilisations, they have tended to have be based around the Mediterrean Sea.
And it gives us a chance to catch up on suntans.

"Sir is Kaylee alright? I haven't heard from her. I'm in Athens. Kaylee told me about this amulet that was supposed to be in one of the temples I came looking for it and found it. I sent it to Daniel. Did he get it?"

I'm afraid there's been an incident and Kaylee's in the infirmary at the moment. She's ok now, but we think she was attacked.
And yes he did get it. Although there was an accident in the Briefing Room and he was injured, and at the same point the amulet disappeared.

"I have to......." He walks away from Daniel, up some stairs, and to the front of the boat. A young man and woman sitting on a lounge chair stand. "Hello dad."
"Mom? Dad?"
The couple turn to him. "Danny? We weren't expecting you. Oh but it's so good to see you!" She hugs him.

5 min later Daniel is hanging on to a rope hanging from the ship.

Daniel feels the rope beginning to move he looks up and sees a gaurd pulling him back onto the ship. He looks back down at the pier as the ship begins to move away from it. He takes a deep breath and jumps.

I think we've got him stable again sir.
As yet, we have no idea on that Major. The CCTV in the room seems to have been disabled just before Dr. Jackson's accident. So this must have been planned by whoever's responsible.

"I have an idea." She grabs a tray and dumps some powder on it. She shakes it slightly to even it out. She puts it under Daniel's hand and he writes. 'Pocine.' Sam turns to Lt. Adam Pocine. "You did this to him.

*Pocine takes a couple of steps towards the door*

He starts running. Sam takes off down the hall after him. Adam runs into Jack and then into the elevator. "Sir it was Lt. Pocine. He attacked Daniel. We have to make sure he doesn't leave. Did someone check all the lockers?"

Sam looks around and sees Michael standing behind Jack. "Daniel is still out of it but he'll be alright in a few hours. Col. Hunter is on her way in. She'll be here as soon as her plane gets in."

"It's like I said I was meeting Daniel in the Debriefing room before his meeting with you. He said he wanted to test the device before he finished his report. When I got here he was arguing with Lt. 2nd class Leran. He said something about getting it and he left."

"No ma'am. I was on the opposite side of the room. Just as I was about to go in ambassador Darnella, from P2X-547,came in and started talking to Dr. Jackson. She was getting mad to and she started pushing Daniel and I went in to separate them and she pushed me I stumbled back and knocke Daniel into the window."

"I believe that it is more likely to simply be......well..jewelry."

"I'm so sorry sir....."

""We were experimenting with smaller less obvious personal Shields. If your enemy takes it from you it just looks like a necklace. It will only work for the person who's DNA is encoded in it. No one else. So even if Daniel had the real one, Which is what Kari brought back, It wouldn't have worked anyway."

What's the matter Daniel, are you in pain?

"The feeling is coming back. General....." he hesitates, "It can wait."

*Janet looks over some of Daniel's monitors and information*
That's a good sign. You should have all feeling back within the next day or so. But that doesn't mean you can start back on duty yet. Not until I've given you the all clear.
