Okay. This is a game I made up called 'Who Said That?!' except it has lotr lines in it. The point of the game is to quess who said a certain line in ANY of the LOTR movies. The person who gets it right gets to choose an ANONYMOUS line! The rules are IT HAS TO BE FROM LOTR!!! You have to say WHAT MOVIE and WHAT CHARACTER said that exact line! Okie dokie. I will start, and you all have to try and guess WHO SAID THAT!
"We are not alone."
WHAT CHARACTER from WHAT MOVIE said that!
-
Frodo in The Two Towers to Sam about Gollum ;)
-
Ur good. Ok! Ur turn to do a line!
-
It dosen't seem like they will reply may I come up with a quote?
"Release the prisoners!"
-
The pink Orc Commander at the Battle of Pelennor about the heads of the Gondorian Knights
-
wasn't his name gothmorg or gothmog or something similar. sorry i had visions of a pink orc in a tutu at 1st :8o ::)
(legendel got it 1st! im not taking the credit)
-
hmm, interesting thought, orc in tutu ;D
but you're right, his name is Gothmog
-
was that right? can we have the next quote please?
-
I'll try to give one... umm here goes:
"I will break him!"
try to guess... it is easy i think...
-
The witch king when talking to gothmog about Gandalf in osgiliath
-
So what's the new quote?
-
Ooops sorry, em....
"a wizard should know better"
-
Treabeard when seeing Saruman's destruction of the forest in Two Towers
"He's here"
-
Frodo at Osgiliath? i dont know if thats right, someone let me know before i put up the next quite!
-
I think that's right, too, but I was thinking of Legolas when Pippin took the Palantir
-
Oh yeah he says that then there too!
"Aaah, old greybeard"
-
Saruman.
-
No sorry thats not who it is.
-
Denethor?
-
Grima?
oh, no Theoden
-
The Mouth of Sauron.
-
Yup thats the one for sure
-
Sorry! My turn! Erm-
"The World of Men will fall..."
-
Denathor?
-
me thought twas galadriel
-
Boromir?
-
No to all!
-
Saruman?
-
No. Saruman's line was, "There will be no dawn for Men."
-
hmm im going totake a wild guess and say elrond.
-
Arwen ???
-
I thought this was quite obvious! Not Arwen, not Elrond.
CLUE: Evil character.
-
It has to be Saruman...which I think someone has already said.
-
Saruman must say it as well as Boromir then as wasnt Boromirs line..
"The world of men will fall, and all will come to darkness..."
???
-
well.. the Witch King said it to Gandalf in the movies.. tho Im not sure he said it in the books :-\
-
Saruman must say it as well as Boromir then as wasnt Boromirs line..
"The world of men will fall, and all will come to darkness..."
???
I thought it was Boromir aswell, although I wouldn't exactly say that he was evil.
-
c'mon Tellyn give us a clue! We are a bit stuck here! :P
-
gothmog or one of the orcs
(this is gettin repeatitive with me lmao :D )
-
it has already been said...
-
 So who got it right then Tellyn?
-
EG!
well.. the Witch King said it to Gandalf in the movies.. tho Im not sure he said it in the books
Your turn!
-
no he didnt say it in the books... doesnt matter tho :)
"to warn the people of their danger"
-
Is that Theoden then?
-
blimey! you were quick!
and no ;)
-
Not sure, but is it the mum who sends her children away on the horse. I don't remember if she had a name though.
-
Elrond says it in The Ring Goes South sayingthat he thinks Pippin should go back to the Shire to warn the people of the danger.
-
yep! your turn
-
OK, mine is "Jumped over the Moon!"
-
For some reason, Tom Bombadil springs to mind, although I doubt it was him.
-
Wasnt that Frodo in the Prancing Pony when he was singing on the table?
-
Not Tom.
Beleriel, you are right in saying he did sing it, but that was not what I was looking for (and he actually sand "jumped over the Moon" rather than "Jumped over the Moon"). It is, however, related to it.
-
Alright then, Merry ... when he came in from his walk and they were reporting to him what happened.
-
Yep, your go.
-
oooh really? I didnt expect that! :P
'pull him left'
-
Eowyn?! :D ???
-
oooh really? I didnt expect that! :P
'pull him left'
*sn iggers * hahhahahahahhahahahah
-
::) EG WHAT are you on ? :P
Yes Del you are correct, can you say when though? ;)
-
LOL mad woman!! :P
I believe it was at the Battle of Pelennor Fields :D
-
correct! I do believe it is your turn then Del. :)
-
"he is here!"
-
Legolas about Sauron!
(least in the film anyway! lol not sure if its in the books :-\ :[)
-
correct! im going to do a Bel, so say where and you can have your go :P :D ;)
-
well in my mind, because its a couple of years now since i last read the books, its when Pippin gets hold of the palantir... and Legolas senses it, in Edoras
-
exactly right! :D
your go!
-
Perhaps you can stand in for EG Del, as she is away this week on holiday!
Lucky her.
-
wow is she!!! some people have all the luck! ::) :D
Im confused....this is the book board right! why in the front page does it say movie quotes ???
anyway this is from the books!! ::)
"...And why havent i been allowed to see you before?"
-
is that Aragorn to Arwen ?
-
nope! guess again!
-
Hmmm Is it Frodo?? I think its either to Bilbo or Gandalf in Rivedell??
-
It was indeed Frodo who said it to Bilbo :D
-
Another one I reckon Del... being as 'flower' seems to have gone away! ::) Perhaps on a visit to the Shire.... what do you reckon? ;)
-
OH!!!! hehe, didnt even realise she has disappeared!! :-\ maybe she got picked ::) :-\
*sorry....it was a joke waiting to come out!* :[
okay, from the books....
"And behind us comes a very storm of Mordor"
-
Is that Gandalf? Not sure where abouts though or to who.
-
Yes it is Gandalf! :D
hazard a guess the location?
-
Well I guess it's before getting to Gondor as there Mordor would be more or less in front of them, so it'd have to be sometime before that. Plus, it seems like he must have been talking about some other evil so as to lead into it at that point. So is it possibly at Helm's Deep?
-
It is indeed on their journey from Edoras towards Helms Deep :)
-
wey! :D
right, erm
Go on Sam.
-
Frodo ???
-
yep, but where?
-
Well, I suppose in the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie :P
-
possibly, I'm not sure, but it's not what I'm looking for :(
-
All right, speaking seriously it's hard to tell. I think somewhere between leaving the Tower of Cirith Ungol and entering Orodruin. Needs time to make a research.
-
Nope, I'm thinking of somewhere earlier on.
-
oooo is it at Bilbo's party where Frodo encourages sam to ask Rosie for a dance?
*wishes she was rosie cotton*
-
Indeed it is :D
Your go.
-
oh, oops! i forgot :[ ::)
From the books....
"I know only the little that Gandalf has told me"
-
Frodo?
-
Aragorn?
Lessa
-
yup you are right it is Frodo, but where?
-
A Knife in the Dark. Frodo is telling Pippin and Merry about Gil-galad.
-
yay correct!!! your go 8)
-
:D
'He is bold, more bold than many deem; for in these days men are slow to believe that a captain can be wise and learned in the scrolls of lore and song, as he is, and yet a man of hardihood and swift judgement in the field. '
-
ok im torn between two people but I'll guess........
Gandalf? :8o
-
Nope. Who's the second?
-
... Damn I've forgotten.... should have written it down....
I think it was Aragorn?
-
No, not Aragorn. It's not one of the chief characters
-
There goes my theories out the window... does Bilbo count as a chief character? 'Cos I'm not sure if he says it about Frodo...
-
The Return of the King, Minas Tirith - Beregond about Faramir?
-
The Return of the King, Minas Tirith - Beregond about Faramir?
Indeed. Your turn. :)
-
Nice and easy, "I Aear cân ven na mar."
-
It's something like
'The see calls for us ....' ???
Are you sure it's from the books? It seems to be said by an elf. Is it Legolas?
-
Oooooooooooh. Does it have to be the books? Because that's a film quote.
-
I always thought so ::) But, having looked at the first page, it's about movies :8o .
All right, assuming it's not Legolas and is from the film, is it Elrond? [Somewhere in the end of RotK]
-
Yes, it is.
-
'Not this time' [from the movie]
-
OH OH!!!
Aragorn to Gimli when he's about to go through the paths of the dead!!!!!
-
No, not Aragorn
-
C'mon, that's not that hard
'Not this time' [from the movie]
Wrong: Aragorn
-
Hmmm Gimli?
-
C'mon, that's not that hard
'Not this time' [from the movie]
Wrong: Aragorn,Gimli
-
:o Sounded like a thing Gimli would say.
Now me thinking Samwise?
-
Actually there are two scenes where it is said, as far as I know; the first is the one I chose and the second is in the RotK said by Aragorn to Gimli before the Paths of the Dead.
'Not this time' [from the movie]
Wrong: Aragorn,Gimli, Samwise
-
Frodo? Urgh me can't think today!
-
Righty! Sam: I'm here to help you.
Frodo: You can't help me Sam. Not this time
-
Yay! Hehe
Next one:
"I will find no rest here"
-
That's easy: Boromir in Lothlorien :D :P
-
Damn Lol Yesh tis!
Well tis your turn!!!
-
:D
'I have some for you'
-
Hmmm I have no ideas!!!
Ummmm I think it could be an Orc but me no sure! Is it an orc?
-
Not an orc. In RotK. :)
-
Hmmm ROTK
Hmmm Denathor?
-
Not him :P
-
Faramir then?
-
Nor Faramir either. Not in Gondor anyway
-
???
Hmm I can't think today. Maybe it be Theoden. ?
-
Well, he was there when it was told
-
Hmmm Eomer?
-
I wonder what Eomer could have had for them
Not Eomer.
Hint: only in the EE of the RotK
-
Ahhh Me no has that! Hmmm
Eowyn?
-
Nope. All right, there was a lot of water there
-
Water - Hmmm Does that mean it be one of the ships?
If so then Gimli?
-
No again. It is at the begining of the RotK.
'I have some for you'
-
Waaa Smeagol?
-
A bit later. Some time after the appearance of the title 'The Return of the King'
-
was it Boramir?(sorry if i spelled it wrong)
-
And how could Boromir get into the Return of the King ??? He was killed at the end of the Fellowship of the Ring.
-
Urgh Me has no idea!
But me guessing it be Pippin?
-
Final Hint: the person who said it was holding a palantir at the moment of his speach
-
Well the only one who held it be Pippin, Aragorn and Gandalf. Tis not Pippin hehe.
So lets try Aragorn???
-
Well Boromir was in a lot of flashbacks so I was just guessing. I think it might be Gandalf. Was it Gandalf?
-
Well the only one who held it be Pippin, Aragorn and Gandalf. Tis not Pippin hehe.
So lets try Aragorn???
You're wrong. Though the person was holding it behind his back(or at least the palantir wasn't visible). I repeat it's only in the Extended Edition.
'I have some for you'
Not Aragorn, nor Gandalf.
-
DAng it! I knew it and then i changed my mind cause i thought it was wrong. Is it GRIMA?
-
DAng it! I knew it and then i changed my mind cause i thought it was wrong. Is it GRIMA?
You're very, very CLOSE to the correct answer
'I have some for you'
Not Grima
-
Saruman?
-
Correct! Your go! :)
-
Dag nab it! GIve me a minute or two.
ok i got one
"Do as I bid!"
-
Eowyn?
-
I think its time for my 'pick a random character!' :D
Now...
Theoden??
-
No and No. Think older.
-
Maybe a hint? Can't remember any character saying it.
-
Well i gave you the hint to think older, but you can have another if you like. It was said in Gondor.
-
Denethor?
-
No. Though the speaker had just been talking about him.
-
Gandalf?
-
How did you get it that fast. Was it that obvious?
-
Seeing this has been left for ten days I think I may post a new quote:
From the books (though originally this thread was only for movie quotes there is a Movie quote game in the films section already.)
Farewell we call to hearth and hall!
Though wind may blow and rain may fall,
We must away ere break of day
Far over wood and mountain tall.
To Rivendell, where Elves yet dwell
In glades beneath the misty fell,
Through moor and waste we ride in haste,
And whither then we cannot tell.
With foes ahead, behind us dread,
Beneath the sky shall be our bed,
Until at last our toil be passed,
Our journey done, our errand sped.
We must away! We must away!
We ride before the break of day!
-
Merry and Pippin?
-
Correct. From the Fellowship of the Ring, Chapter 5. A Conspiracy Unmasked
Your go! :)
-
LOL!!! Well i guess almost a month later is better late than never! :[
from the books
'Yet such as we are we will try it'
-
gandalf perhaps?
-
nope!
-
Frodo?
-
nope, keep guessing!
-
Aragorn?
-
Yay well done!
From The fellowship of the ring, The Great River
-
:D
‘Who will laugh, I wonder?’
