Title: "Lost"; Dominic Monaghan - Beware, spoilers!
Post by: tig on September 23, 2004, 07:09:37 AM
First, forgive me a fangirl moment:

OMG DOM AND IAN SOMERHOLDER!!!11!ONE!

*ahem*

Okay, who watched it?  There were some fairly disgusting parts...  (guy in tree, guy sucked into engine :-X) but i thought it was pretty good so far.  Shows promise.

And who else thinks the dog might have something to do with the thing in the woods?  Because otherwise, the dog just doesn't seem to fit.  And i hope the girls' baby is all right, because otherwise that would be very sad.  Even though the baby probably wouldn't survive in that enviornment even if it is okay. :(

Definitely looking forward to next week's show ;D

  I watched it..

Though it was decent for a show premiere, it can only survive so long on the premise that we don't know what's out there in the woods killing people, so they better reveal it soon..

  ::)

But Dom, yes, he's fabulous, as always..  ;D  :-*

  Can't wait for next week..

  * SPOILER!! *

Okay, seriously, a polar bear in a tropical climate?  :-X  ::)

This show needs to get better fast or it lost one of its viewers after only the second episode..  ::)

Well, it is supposed to have a supernatural element to it.  Hence, polar bear.

Yes, dearest clone of mine, I realize that, but I still think it silly for a polar bear to be in a tropical region of the world..  ::)

  Anyways..

Okay, who else was
a) annoyed that we don't know what Kate did, and
b) kind of creeped out by how Locke looked right at the end. ???
Title: Re:"Lost"; Dominic Monaghan - Beware, spoilers!
Post by: Theo on October 07, 2004, 08:14:04 AM
  *raises hand*

I am soooo annoyed that they will not freakin' tell us what Kate did!

Locke did look rather creepy, but I don't think that he's as bad as they're making him out to look..  They want us to think that he's some weird creepy guy when really he's not..

That's just my theory anyways..  ::)

While we're on the subject of things that annoy us, is anyone else bothered by the absurd-looking fake pregnant woman's belly?  That thing just looks so unreal, it's ridiculous..  They could at least try to make it look real..

But I will say that I thought this week's episode was better than the first two weeks have been, so that's an improvement..

I think they're in the Bermuda Triangle or something like that. That's like the place where all the weird kind of things happen and everything and it would explain the polar bear.

If you think my guessing is absurd, it probably is because I haven't watched it that closely as I have other shows that I'm interested in being that I have to have it taped when it comes on. I have religion class from 6:30 to 7:30 so it takes a while for me to watch the episodes. Like the one that came on last week, I still haven't been able to see all of it :'(

I have no clue. I don't think they're going to re-air any. They re-aired the firs two episodes but that was like two Saturdays ago :'(

OMFG, did anyone see last Wednesday episode? I didn't have religion so I got to watch it all uninterrupted. Now who would have guessed that about Locke? And the dood! I wonder if they are alive or who that guy is.

I think they're playing episodes 3 & 4 again this Saturday...

Ooh, i know that thing with Locke was a shocker.  Explains a lot about him... i now no longer think he is creepy but luff him muchly.

Next week looks very exciting.  I wonder what incited Jin to go after Michael like that... something with Sun, most likely, but i wonder what exactly set him off?

Also can't wait until Charlie runs out of drugs.  Mmm.  Drama.

I missed it on Wednesday last week and only caught a little bit of the tail end of the show on Saturday..  Things seem to have gone a bit crazy around there..

Well, Kate wasn't obsessive over Jack or anything, was she?  ::)  Sheesh, woman..

But poor Charlie..  :(  He made a good decision to get rid of the little bit of drugs he still had (which Locke was holding for him)..

Next week looks like it'll be messed up..  This show is getting rather twisted..  :-\

I think last night's episode was my favorite so far, after Locke's.  Although Dom can't be my little Druggie Hobbit anymore now, which is très triste. :(
Title: Re:"Lost"; Dominic Monaghan - Beware, spoilers!
Post by: Theo on November 05, 2004, 05:37:39 AM
I missed the first half hour of it, but I saw enough of it..  I liked it for the most part, but I thought the whole reason Charlie got started on the drugs was a bit lame..

I still haven't quite made up my mind about this show yet..  I don't know if I like it or not..  I think Dom is, of course, doing a fabulous job on it, but it's rather twisted and I think the writers' are trying to make it as strange and unexpected and backwards as possible just to leave you hanging..

I dunno, that's just my feeling on it though..
Title: Re:"Lost"; Dominic Monaghan - Beware, spoilers!

I liked it for the most part, but I thought the whole reason Charlie got started on the drugs was a bit lame..

I thought so too, he's so offended by his brother's using, so dead against it and then his brother says a few harsh things and all of the sudden he can't help himself, it was a little too contrived and out of the blue.

Oh and I thought I would add, if you miss an episode, here's (http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com/show.cgi?show=136) a place that recaps all the shows.  It's a bit of an investment in time to read through it all, but it's very entertaining and informative and I love all the Hobbit references. ::)
Title: Re:"Lost"; Dominic Monaghan - Beware, spoilers!
Post by: Theo on November 07, 2004, 09:19:23 AM
Although, I will say now that I've seen the episode right from the beginning and not just from halfway through, I don't think it was quite as weak, though it still wasn't the most believable of reasons for Charlie to have gotten started on drugs in the first place..

& I'm liking Locke even more every episode..  He seems like such a cool guy..  I think it was great how he helped Charlie with his decision to quit drugs for good..  And also Jack who was helping Charlie with his withdrawal..

The show is good, but I still think it could go downhill and turn into a sucky show..  We shall see..  I still really want to know what Kate did..  It's bugging the crap out of me that they haven't told us yet..  Though in the T.V. Guide article they said they'll reveal it before the first season is over..  They'll probably save it for the very last episode or something absurd..  :P

I'm not entirely convinced he's as benign as he seems, he's a little too capable, he knows a little too much, he's a little too cool and calm and in charge, no one in that perfect, there has to be something wrong with him.  ;)

I guess I didn't make that very clear, did I? ::) :-[  Sorry...I was talking about Locke.  And I don't know if I think he's evil or bad, but I do think there is a lot about him we don't know yet that could completely change who and what he is.

I know what you mean..  I'm reminded of that scene (in an older episode) that showed where he was on the phone with a woman and at first you think it's an ex-wife or something of that sort, but you find out that it's some kind of fantasy chat 800 number..  ???

I do remember that and the whole thing about him being paralyzed and then regaining the use of his legs after the accident is just bizarre, there is so much more going on with him than meets the eye.

That "miracle" has more to do with the island though..  That's playing into the whole mysteriousness and weirdness of the island itself more than what might be going on with Locke..

Though I do agree with your statement..  There's more going on with most of the characters than what meets the eye..

  It'll be interesting and chaotic, I think..  I don't know how things'll turn out, but I s'pose we'll see..

Did anyone else have mixed feelings between feeling sorry for Sawyer (who isn't really Sawyer :-\) and despising him at the same time by the end of the show?!  :o

Maybe that's just me..  Although, when I think about it .. though his childhood was really, really tragic I still cannot dismiss who he is and what he's done..  He turned into the very man he hated so much for ruining his life..

But he did walk away..  When he realized he was about to do what Sawyer had done to his family so many years before, he called off the deal and walked away..

Hmm, tis very complicated..  Poor, tortured souls do I feel sorry for, yes..  Especially ones as hot as this one..  ::)

I do feel sorry for Sawyer, although I've always been a sucker for the bad boys. ::) :P  He certainly has done some very awful things and a rotten childhood doesn't justify that but there is also serious potential there.  I think he has a good heart, he just makes really bad decisions. ::)

I'm not very articulate these days -cough-meds-cough- and I wasn't getting my thoughts across very well..  ???  :-[

But I agree with that statement totally..

  I like Sawyer a lot..

Adding on to the i-feel-sorry-for-sawyer train... so far, he may be the most interesting person, psychologically.  I mean, he's become the man who caused the deaths of his parents... perhaps that's why he plays the bad guy, and why he keeps practically asking for the punishment... well, it may just be in his nature now, but a theory i have is that he's taking the punishment in a way because he thinks the Real Sawyer deserves it.

That was a really long sentence and i don't think i expressed myself quite as well as i would like to.  Hm.

Side note:  Jack and Kate may be King and Queen of the Island Prom, but Charlie and Claire are officially the cutest couple.
Though i wouldn't like to see them in an actual romantic relationship on the show.  A very caring, sweet friendship would be enough.

(i love stopping topics dead.  yay me.)

  :P  Pft..  T'wasn't your fault, Tig..  ::)

I didn't reply because I'm very often very inarticulate anymore and I don't like sounding the fool..  :-X

I know exactly what you mean about Sawyer and I concur..  It's the same as what happens to a lot of kids who suffer from child abuse..  Though they loathe the act that was done to them and how it made them feel, they often don't break the cycle of child abuse; they're the ones most likely to abuse their own children as adults..  Kind of messed up and I couldn't even begin to understand it, but it's the same idea..  Sawyer, though he wanted nothing more than to get revenge on the guy who messed up his life, became the man he hated more than anything..

Geez, I haven't come on this thread for so long. Last time I posted here I hadn't known much more about the show than my grandma did, however, now I've seen and taped every epsiode up to last week's. Have a lot more knowledge on what's going on now.

The Confindence Man episode has to be my favorite. I absoutely love Sawyer. Well, maybe not love, but he's my favorite character out of the show. And I wrote a huge paragraph explaining why he was acting like such a jackass on another board. Lemme find it . . .

Sure he's a bad, manipulating person, but he had a rough childhood. Any kid that had a parent kill the other and then committ suicide isn't gonna wind up all right in the end, especially if he found out what it was all about. Perhaps he caught the real Sawyer in the act and told his dad. Whatever the case, Sawyer is a very complex character. He swore to himself that he would make sure the real Sawyer would know what he did to him, he would hunt him down. And then, in the process, he was so caught up into meeting Sawyer that he didn't realize what he was doing to himself until he saw that kid. It took one kid to make him realize that he was just as bad as Sawyer, probably even worse. That, in my eyes, is a tragic character. To know you've become what you hated so much, everything you tried not to be, you now are. I'd be a jackass to everyone too if I was under the same situation. He was trying to redeem himself if Jack had let him bleed out. Then he wouldn't have been able to hurt anyone again.

I'm really glad he kept the letter though. That show's that he still has hope that he'll get off the island and meet Sawyer one day.

Each character is very complexed within their ownself, and they've all had flaws. And it seems as if they've become what they hated (as in Charlie's case. He saw his big brother wasting his life away and in the end succumbed to becoming a drug head in the end too). Jack had a rocky realtionship with his dad, but look what he became, he followed in the footsteps of his father whether he liked it or not.

Why did Sawyer go through all the trouble just for a kiss? Well, hell, if I knew that everyone hated me just because of the few things I've done, I wouldn't really care either. I mean, seriously, he has no one to go back to. The only thing that should keep him going is that he wants to make it through to give that letter to the real Sawyer one day. So yeah, being a jackass to just get a kiss would be right up his ally. It would probably be something they expected him to do, or at least Kate would expect him to do. What's the point in trying to change when no one will believe you? Remember when he changed his mind about telling Kate about Jack and instead said he wanted to help? Kate didn't take him seriously. I think, that before the episode, if he had asked Jack or something if he could help Jack would have looked at him like he was crazy because he wouldn't be his 'I-do-things-only-for-me' attitude. Everyone's judged him and got him placed in a certain catergory, why ruin their prejudice? Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I wasn't that surprised that he went through all that crap for just a kiss. Ah, hell. I'm rambling too much.

But did anyone see last week's episode? I think I have a very good guess who Alex might be *cackles*

& The peanut butter thing was because Charlie's (Dom) pregnant lady friend was craving some peanut butter and he told her he could get it for her..  But there wasn't any around, being that they're trapped on an island in the middle of nowhere..  So near the end of the episode, they were imagining themselves eating peanut butter out of an empty jar..  ::)
Title: Re: "Lost"; Dominic Monaghan - Beware, spoilers!

And Charlie(Dom's character) wanted her to move off the beach and into the caves, close to Jack, the doctor and I'm sure there were other reasons but they aren't coming to mind right now, but she wanted to stay on the beach, so they made a deal that if Charlie could find a jar of peanut butter she would move to the caves, so in desperation to make her happy and to get her off the beach, he gave her "pretend" peanut butter.

Hurley found out that someone wasn't on the manifest thing and he said "he" wasn't on the plane. That means that there's a male somewhere that wasn't on the plane. Ethan is very suscpicious to me, I mean, what the hell kind of a name is Ethan Rom? I'm thinking that he's Alex because Danielle said Alex was her child, not saying it was male or female. But a child is fairably young, so it's been 16 years since she arrived there. If Ethan is Alex and was a child back then, say 8 or 9, then he would be 25-26ish and that appears to be what age he looks. So yeah, I'm thinking Ethan is Alex, or perhaps Alex is the monster? Hmmmm . . .

After last night's episode, i thought that too... but i'm not sure if the ages work out right. :-\  He looked to be in his mid-thirties to me, and Rousseau in her forties... but then, i've always been bad at guessing people's ages. ::)

I don't know.  But i do know he stole Baby Mama and Detox Hobbit :(

You thought Danielle (that's a pretty name) Rousseau looked in her forties?  :8o  :P  She could easily have been in her fifties, in mine eyes..

Though to me Ethan did look a tad older than mid-twenties..  I'd say late-twenties to early-thirties..

Yes, poor Baby Mama and Detox Hobby Hobbit, but hopefully they'll be okay..  ???

Yeah I'm not good at ages sometimes either.

Hey, if you're a Sawyer/Kate type of person, check out my fanfic on here and tell me what ya think. And yes, I have now just selfishly promoted my story. Bite me ^_^

I have no clue if Charlie and Claire are going to be okay. I know Charlie comes back, but I dunno about Claire . . . oh boy.

Oh yeah, and before you shoot your TV. Lemme tell ya. This is the last new episode of Lost for December. They're going on hiatus until January. So tape this one! Or you could just watch the re-runs that'll come on after this Wednesday. The first week of January they're going to be back with new episodes if I'm correct. Alias will be joining them too, so it'll truly be a J.J. Abrams night.

Seems like I'm in the same boat with y'all with missing half of the episodes because of church. But I'm kinda glad that they're showing reruns during the holidays. Christmas time means relatives galore for me and I know if I told one of them I couldn't go with them somewhere because of a TV show they'd probably slap me or something. Can't wait for the next new episode though, it's gonna be a Kate episode. Then after that one a Boone/Shannon episode and after that a Michael and Walt one and after that I'm not sure because they haven't given Lost Media any more goods.

Once again, the best Lost site I've found to date is http://www.lost-media.com They're photo gallery is HUGE and has all the lastest pictures, including the new promos for episodes 12-14.

I only saw three episodes, "House of the Rising Sun", "The Moth", and the one about Sawyer. I really wanted to see them all but with Church and everythign I never had time to watch them. I was going to record them, but our TV won't work with the VCR on all of a sudden. Is it true that the season is over and that they are showing it all over again in order?

Just wondering...

The season isn't over, it's just on a break.  There will be new episodes in January and yes, they are showing it from the beginning, although I don't know if they'll be able to get all of them in before the new ones start.

They're skipping some episodes. They're showing the re-runs in order but they're skipping the third and sixth episodes.

Starting out, Lost was only going to have 14 episodes in case it didn't do well and they could pull it out quickly. Now since it's a huge success there's going to be 22 episodes.

Sawyer fans, get ready for February 16th! Sawyer's gonna get another episode about him and they said that "Sawyer has a second flashback episode. here will also be a scene in it that will blow the LOYAL viewer's minds. Got it from: http://www.spoilerfix.com/lost.php

I actually really liked this episode, I thought it had a lot of tension and genuine suspense, of course I had read a few spoilers so I was prepared for the reveal of Boone and Shannon and that probably helped.  It certainly adds an element of strangeness to it all, but after all, that's what the show is all about. ;)

True, true.  But the whole making out scene...good thing they're stepsiblings.  Although it's a little like Greg and Marcia Brady making out.

Good episode, however.  Not the best, but good.

True, true.  But the whole making out scene...good thing they're stepsiblings.

Well, yes, it would be a whole other story if they were blood related, then I would have some issues with it and if this was real life, I would have some issues with a couple who were raised as brother and sister hooking up, but it's not real life so I can remove myself from the "ick" factor a little bit.  I think the pairing of Shannon and Sayid is bizarre, I may get used to it in time, but she just doesn't seem like someone he would be the least bit interested in.

Yeah, I understand what you mean, Idril..  It's not quite as gross since we know it's not real..  But still, it's weird..

Shannon and Sayid?  ???  I'm guessing that's from some spoiler you read somewhere..  :-\  Either that or a whole lot more happened in the one episode I missed than I thought..

Well, it was from a spoiler, but they did do a little bit of flirting in that last episode, enough to point the storyline in that direction.  I have no idea how involved they are supposed to get, if it's just going to stay at the flirting level or go farther, I just know they were going to start to show an interest in each other which I think they already have.

If they leave the Shannon/Boone thing where it is right now, if they don't continue to pursue a relationship, then I think it will be ok, if they flirt a lot, if Boone continues to be creepy jealous, then it's something I may get uncomfortable with at some point. ::)

lol, I'm like Idril. I normally know what all the Lost episodes are going to contained (like which character it's going to be about and if they have a huge secret or something like that) because of the Lost forum I'm on. Hearts and Minds was an okay episode. Most of the people over there on that forum were freaked out by Shannon and Boone's make out session. I agree that it was strange and even though they were stepsiblings and weren't blood related in any way, it was still a bit odd, but c'mon, this is Lost people. Strange things happen. I wasn't grosses out by it. I was actually hollering with glee when Boone thought she was dead and then felt like someone slapped me when I didn't figure out that it was a hallunciation before Boone did.

Y'all see Sawyer in the back ground getting arrested when Boone was in the police station? lol, that was funny. "Croc hunter" *laughs* I think that he had something to do with Jack's dad before he died.

I did read in an article in Entertainment Weekly that the castaways were all connected in some way before the flight, that their stories interconnect in some way so the idea that Sawyer and Jack's dad had something to do with each other is a distinct possibility.

Title: Re: "Lost"; Dominic Monaghan - Beware, spoilers!
Post by: Lil_Washu on January 22, 2005, 04:34:56 AM
Yeah, I totally didn't see that one coming. They had us thinking that in the next episode "Homecoming" she was coming back, since it was called Homecoming and everything. Sure fooled me. I started hollering at the screen whenever she showed up and hollered even more when it ended.

Three more weeks until the new episode>_< I've heard the Claire has no recollection of anything before the crash. Good thing Charlie has her dairy though.

About the Jack's dad may be the one Sawyer was looking for. Are you saying that Jack's dad could be the real Mr. Sawyer? Yeah, that's what some people thought too. I don't know . . . I just don't see it. I think it's more like Sawyer was trying to rip him off or something before his death or something along those lines. Maybe he bought him one too many beers and then he croaked in the alley way.

Is anybody getting as tired of the whole 'Sawyer as a scavenger' thing as I am?  How many times have they had the exact same conversation, "Sawyer, we want the ____ and we know you have it, now give it to us." and then we have to have his smug little response.  I like Sawyer, I really do and I think the character can serve a much better purpose than hoarding. ::)

Title: Re: "Lost"; Dominic Monaghan - Beware, spoilers!
Post by: Lil_Washu on January 29, 2005, 04:03:47 AM
lol. See, Sawyer did have the diary. And maybe (just maybe) he was keeping it from Charlie because he knew he would go looking for it and he didn't want Charlie to be even more depressed in cause Claire had written something bad about him. Either that are he was just being his smart-ass self.

Sawyer hoarding everything is like the main thing Josh Holloway and the producers are going for. In an interview he said that he tries to get everything from everyone so that they'll have to come to him for some loving when they need something. Since no one wants to talk to him (except for Kate and Walt) then he gets people to talk to him and everything by having what they want. I'm surprised he didn't try to jack all the medical supplies at the beginning.

Did anyone re-watch Solitary last Wednesday? They showed about a 9 second preview for the new episode on Feb. 9th and duh, duh, duh!!! Ethan's back and he looks like he's friggin' demented or something and he sees Charlie and starts trying to choke Charlie. I think that Charlie's gonna kill him with one of the guns they're trying to hunt Ethan down with on the promo pics. They did say in the new TV Guide that Charlie will do something that will surprise everyone because of Claire's being in dangered.

Oh yeah, here's how the episode are gonna go:
Episode 15-Homecoming (Charlie-centric)
Episode 16-Outlaws (Sawyer-centric)
Episode 17-. . . In Translation (Jin-centric)
Episode 18-Numbers (Hurley-centric)
Episode 19-??? (Locke-centric)
Episode 20-??? (Jack-centric)

and that's all I know for the moment. Remember, there's only going to be 23 episodes if I'm correct, so it's finally coming down to the end *cries*

It just premiered here in Australia and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!  I was expecting to be disappointed because I'd heard so much hype about it, I thought my expectations would be too high (like what happened when I read too much about ROTK and was disappointed by it), but it exceed all my hopes.  What an awesome show.  I'm dying for spoilers now!  Although I already know Charlie's secret.  Ohhh sexy Charlie :D

But is this on DvD/Video.. ?

We don't even have it in the UK yet so they won't be releasing it here for a looooooooooong time (well, as far as I know...I don't watch TV)

Ohhh sexy Charlie :D

Yes, Charlie is quite hot...

It's probably going to be Ethan or someone no one really cares about or isn't a major character...maybe Rose or maybe, if we're really lucky, it will be Kate. ;) :P

No, I can't stand the woman, she irritates me so intensely, the way she has to be in the middle of everything, the fact that she has to make sure all the guys are mooning over her and the fact that the only expression she ever seems to have is "sad and pensive".(That "sad and pensive" line is a shout out to the site TWOP (http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com) that does the greatest Lost recaps, but if you are offended by strong language, don't go there.)

I'm all right with them killing her off, provided they reveal (well, more specifically) who it was she killed first.  And they need to expand on the airplane bit (can't just tell us something as significant as it being found in deposit box 815 and then leave it at that.  I won't stand for it.)

But, then again... who will Jack have to flirt with once she's gone?  And who will get into the occassional friendly tussling match with Sawyer?  Alas, alas, they may need to find comfort in other arms... namely, each others. [/sarcasm - or is it?]

Sounds like it's Ethan that's gonna bite the dust. All the 14 characters are in all the other episodes after this one so that was pretty dumb of them to try to hold people in suspense but then come out with promo pics of Outlaws, . . . In Translation, and Numbers. I think Charlie might kill him or Jack. That's my bet. Can't wait for tonight.

Tonight was a lovely Sawyer-packed episode..   My poor babe..  :(

I thought tonight's episode was good..  Though I think that Sawyer should've told Jack why he was asking about his dad and about the fact that he actually saw him in a bar and spoke to him before he died..  And he should've told Jack what his dad had said..

But ah well..  It didn't happen so..  -shrugs-

Well, I actually think that Sawyer unintentionally killed Jack's dad. I mean, they said that Christian died of a heart attack that was brought on by his alcohol level. Sawyer bought him one drink and he probably bought him more when (if) he came back to the bar after killing the real "Sawyer".

Anywho, "Outlaws" was an awesome episode. And did you see "In Translation"? Walt burning down the raft . . . I should have guessed he did it sooner than I did. Can't wait for tomorrow's episode. Hurley won the lottery and he's chasing after the French Woman after some of her coordinates on that map Sayid's been trying to figure out equal the same three numbers that were on his lottery ticket^_^

Which reminds me, I was just wondering if any of y'all would like to check out this cool forum for me. A friend of mine made it just last week and she's looking for some members to liven things up (there's only 7 so far). It promises to be a great Lost board and it has all your fill on episodes, pics, spoilers, ect. ect. The url's http://www.lostinlost.com I'm Sawyer on there^_^

Post by: Lil_Washu on March 05, 2005, 03:29:34 AM
Wow, those numbers. If I ever see them on the lottery I was personally freak out. How weird is that? I'm guessing it was the radio signal off the island that Sam and Leonard were picking up back in the war since Sam's wife and the French chick both described it as 'the voice'.
Title: Re: "Lost"; Dominic Monaghan - Beware, spoilers!
Post by: Cuthien, Wolf-maiden on March 05, 2005, 04:04:54 AM
Yeah, because the message was heard by Sam and Leonard about 16 years before, right?

But those numbers were on the side of that bunker-thing...What could that mean?

4 8 15 16 24 42...right?

Awesome episode!  (And pretty funny at the end, when Charlie thought Hurley was trying to be sarcastic...)
Title: Re: "Lost"; Dominic Monaghan - Beware, spoilers!
Post by: Flutey on March 06, 2005, 12:20:22 AM
I think the numbers were 4 8 15 16 23 42. And did anyone catch what the numbers were on at the end?? Was that part of the plane or the thing that Locke and Boone were trying to dig up? I was just wondering about that. . .
Title: Re: "Lost"; Dominic Monaghan - Beware, spoilers!
Post by: Cuthien, Wolf-maiden on March 07, 2005, 02:55:13 AM
I think that was the thing that Locke and Boone were trying to dig up, because in the intro before the show started, it mentioned it in passing.  Besides, the numbers had been transmitting for 16 years, right?  So it could not have been the plane...but what was it?

Oh, the mystery!
Title: Re: "Lost"; Dominic Monaghan - Beware, spoilers!
Post by: Lil_Washu on March 10, 2005, 03:17:53 AM
Unless it's the plane that Ethan came on. But I don't know if a lot of people know about this. Boone is suppose to find another plane that smaller than the one they were on in an upcoming episode. The numbers looked like they were on the hatch though, that's what I automatically thought.
Title: Re: "Lost"; Dominic Monaghan - Beware, spoilers!
Post by: Cuthien, Wolf-maiden on March 10, 2005, 03:24:32 AM
See, Lost is such a great show, because it makes you think, and speculate, and your imagination works so hard...that's why it's the rockinest show ever.

EDIT:  I just read on abc.com (episode guide) that the numbers were carved in concrete...hmm...
Title: Re: "Lost"; Dominic Monaghan - Beware, spoilers!
Post by: Lil_Washu on March 10, 2005, 03:31:04 AM
Concrete? But wouldn't the htach be made out of concrete? I keep saying it's the hatch but if they say it's something else then that makes things a lot more interesting. How the hell do you have concrete on a "deserted" island? Unless they had someone like Locke who could think up or a way . . .

I don't think they'd kill off Sawyer, who would Jack argue with if he wasn't around and who would Kate flirt with...well...other than every other guy on the Island ::), but still, Sawyer is her major target right now.  He serves an important purpose, I think the show would be lacking without him...like I said, it should be Boone, I mean what does he do other than follow Locke around like a puppy dog and give the snake eyes to Shannon?

Spoiler; if you haven't seen tonight's episode..

Okay, well, Boone died..  Claire had her baby..  T'was a boy..

Now, I haven't been watching it lately because I didn't know when they were airing new episodes and when it was a repeat (and I quite often forget it's on) so I don't know how exactly it is that Boone got hurt in the first place, but personally I don't think that Locke did it..  He doesn't seem to be the type that would intentionally hurt someone else..  I like Locke a lot though, so maybe I'm biased, but anyhow..

Spoiler; if you haven't seen tonight's episode..

  Okay, well, Boone died..

Ok, can I be smug about this?  Should I admit I let out a little cheer when he died or would that be considered insensitive? ::)  I was moved at the end when Shannon was crying over him, but that doesn't take away from the fact that I'm happy Boone was the one who had to die.

so I don't know how exactly it is that Boone got hurt in the first place, but personally I don't think that Locke did it..

He was mucking about in a little single engine plane(or double engine, I'm really not an expert on planes, but my point is that is was small) that Locke had found and it was was balanced ever so perilously on the side of the mountain and Boone was moving around in it and it fell down the cliff and then flipped over so Locke didn't do it, but he was indirectly responsible for it and the reason why he's not there is because he went back to that hatch, he brought Boone to Jack and then left.  Of course there are all kinds of little details about those events, but that's the main gist of what happened.
Title: Re: "Lost"; Dominic Monaghan - Beware, spoilers!

I never liked Boone.  I thought he like....ugh all the time, but he did look out for his sister a lot but he didn't really do much to save her when she was having them attacks.

I'm just downloading that episode now.  Skadi told me who died and I was like wayhey, got to see it type of thing.  I'm currently on episode 11 or something like that and really enjoying it.

My favourite character at the moment has to be Saiid.  I mean, I loved his flashback and I love how he tried to save Nadia.  And that Danielle woman is crazy!

My favorites are Locke, Hurley, and Charlie.

Claire's baby was so cute!!!!!!!  That part was so sweet.  (And how about the part where Charlie said that delivering a baby was very simple?!  My mom laughed at that part.)  And the part where Boone died was sad.

You know when Jack was putting his blood into Boone?  Well, according to some of my peers, my face looked a lot like Jack's the last time I gave blood.  Sorry, just a thought.

I think pretty much anyone with a soul hates Shannon, she's incredibly stuck up and is a *****.  Shannon and Sayid?  Please.  I think the whispers he heard when he escaped from Danielle have made him insane ::)  Jeez, Danielle would be a better catch than Shannon.

Michael and Walt are annoying me lately too with all the fighting.  And bloody Walt burning the raft!  Stupid kid! ::)

Not a fan of Jin either, although those scenes with Hurley (Pee on it!) were hilarious, but I suppose that was because of Hurley.

I have a few episodes that I like more than the others, but I've found it impossible to pick a favourite.  I like the Pilot Part 1 & 2, Walkabout (Locke, ep 4)), The Moth (Charlie, ep 7)), Solitary (Sayid, ep 9), Raised By Another (Claire, ep 10), and Numbers (Hurley, ep 18).

I think pretty much anyone with a soul hates Shannon

Well, I must not have a soul then because I don't hate Shannon ;), I think a lot of the things she says are actually quite funny.  I don't know how well I would tolerate her in real life but for a tv character, I find her very entertaining, the thing with Boone was a little icky, but it just adds another layer to her.  I think the Sayid/Shannon pairing is an odd one, I'll give you that, I just don't see him having the patience for her but maybe he'll help her grow up a little bit.

Now Kate is a woman I can't stand, she has to be in the middle of everything, she has to be adored by all the men, I think she's very needy and that is such an annoying trait.  I find myself rolling my eyes everytime she's on screen. ::)

I like Jin, or more accurately, I find him fascinating, I think we've only scratched the surface of his character at this point and I really like Sun as well, I'm anxious to learn more about both of them.

There really isn't a male character that I don't like, there are some I like more than others, Michael is kind of a non-entity for me and Locke, I'm quite sure he's evil, but he's a great character, you couldn't have a show without him.  Jack's holier than thou attitude gets on my nerves once in a while, but I also think he's a very necessary character, Charlie is just such a sweetheart, Hurley and Sawyer are both very funny and Sayid is very intense and I love his hair. :D  The only male character I didn't like was Boone so now I'm quite happy.

Someone else is going to to die.  And then possibly one in the early episodes of season 2.  Here's what the chat with a TV gossip columnist says:

Q: Will we have to say goodbye to another Lost survivor this season? We're still in mourning for poor Boone.

A: Ready for this? Sitting down? Kleenex and first-aid kit sitting by? Mother programmed into speed dial? Yes. Someone else is getting written off the show.

Q: You're gonna get us started about the Lost castoff again? I might as well start. Any hint on who's leaving? Male? Female? Jack?

A: Whaddya say we not do that again and drive ourselves crazy? I will tell you this: Someone is dying this season. I think someone else is dying early next season. And I've heard the second already knows, because of contract negotiations going on, and is none too pleased and driving something of a hard bargain.

:'(

The 'someone is dying this season' could be the person who is being poisoned.  I told you guys about the person that's being poisoned in my first set of spoilers right?  Well anyway, someone is.  And the victim is NOT female.  Looks like we're losing another Lost boy  :'(

Oh that would be pretty sweet if that happened actually (no offence to you Sawyer fans out there!!) but he is just pure nasty!

However, he does make the storyline that little bit more interesting. If he was cut from the series, then it wouldn't be half as interesting.  Without him, there would be no fights for stuff he's got.

I loved it when whoever it was put them spikey things under his fingernails...that was classic!

True, he did have quite a rocky past, but that doesn't make me "like" him.

They all had rocky pasts to be honest, and not all of them are as nasty as him :-\

I just don't like the nasty guys in programs, even if they do make the storyline more interesting

he's a nice guy if you know how to handle him...remember how he just gave the list to Hurley because Hurley had no intention and no inclinnation of hating him, he just took him for what he was.

Well, we all have different views on the characters.

MY view on Sawyer is that he is a nasty man.  Shannon needed them inhalers to survive, and he gave Kate the choice of giving him a kiss or letting Shannon die.  If that's not nasty, I don't know what is.

When someones life is at stake on that program and he has whatever to help them survive, he always makes the others pay the price before he hands it over...thats just nasty in my eyes.  People shouldn't have to do things so he can give them what they need...especially things they need to survive.

He does make the story line that little bit more interesting, it'd be nice if he cut the others some slack and lightened up a bit...

So moving off the theories on who's being poisoned... who do you think is doing the poisoning?  The possiblilities:

Sun - she does have an accute knowledge of plants and probably knows which ones are poisonous.  But does she really have the personality to do it?

Kate - anything is possible with her.  I wouldn't put it past her to be honest

Locke - he knows how to make a hallucenogenic, why not a poison as well?

Walt - this kid makes weird things happen, I suppose he could poison someone if he put his mind to it

Jack - he's a doctor , he knows more about the drugs on the island than anyone, but then, he IS a doctor and he seem too righteous to poison someone

Sayid - he knows a few tricks of the trade, I'm sure he wouldn't have any trouble picking up a few tips on poison from Sun or Jack, he's very persuasive

Rousseau - okay, so she doesn't have contact with the camp, but remember she did mention something about her crew being infected...could the 'poisoning' be done in fact by the whispers heard by Sayid and Sawyer?

I don't know squat about the poisoning, but here's an interesting article about Boone that I read in this week's T.V. Guide..

RIP Boone!

Here, in an emotional interview, Somerhalder speaks out about his departure and -SPOILER ALERT!- reveals that he might not be the only one biting the dust.

Finally, one of Lost's biggest mysteries has been revealed.

After months of warnings from cocreators J. J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof that a major character on their ABC hit drama would be killed off -and rampant speculation from fans about who it would be- Boone (Ian Somerhalder), the rich boy with the creepy attachment to his stepsister Shannon (Maggie Grace), died in the April 6 episode.  Somerhalder's exit was necessary because "it kicks off the character conflicts that build all the way into the season finale," Lindelof says.  "It had to be him."

>>When did you find out Boone was being killed off?
Two days before coming back to Hawaii in January to buy a house. [Laughs]

>>Ouch.  So you didn't have any idea?
No.  Look, all of us knew it could happen.  But you just weren't ready for it to be you.  To be honest, I still can't believe I'm having this conversation right now.

>>How did you take the news?
J. J. and Damon called to tell me [while] I was in Santa Ynez wine country in a brand-new convertible Porsche with a really beautiful girl.  It was Friday night.  I'd been wine tasting all day.  I was upset.  I said, "I love you guys.  But this is just not a conversation that I can be having right now."  Basically, I was telling them, "This is gonna really f--- up my weekend."  [Laughs]  No matter how stupid and selfish that is, it's the way it was.

>>And after you'd had some time to process it?
Hey, what are you gonna do?  It makes sense storywise.  J. J. and Damon are smart.  You just gotta trust them.  And this has been the best year of my life.  I have met people I will remain close to until I'm old and gray.  At the end of the day, I'm so grateful to have had this experience.

>>Did the producers ask you to keep it a secret from the rest of the cast?
No.  They knew I wouldn't do that.  These are my people, you know?  There's no way in hell I wasn't gonna tell them.  Foxy [Matthew Fox, who plays Jack] was the first phone call I made.  Josh [Holloway, who plays Sawyer] was the second.

>>How difficult was it to shoot your last episode?
It was very painful.  Trust me, it was the worst week.  Matthew called me the day before we started shooting and said, "I don't wanna have to go through this.  But I wouldn't wanna go through it with anyone else but you."

>>I heard you got a standing ovation after your last scene.
You know, I don't really remember because I just wanted out.  I just didn't want to be there.  It was too emotional.  I had to leave.

>>Were you satisfied with the story?
I was a little disappointed at first.  I thought it didn't make any sense.

>>Why?
Because the [April 13] episode isn't about Shannon's grief.  Here the one guy that loved her and took care of her just bit the big one, and they don't explore that in the next episode?  That kind of sucks.  As an audience member, I would want to see "is this person gonna go off the deep end now?"  It's not as big as it could've been, not as intense.

>>Will you still watch the show?
Are you crazy?  Of course!  This is my show.  I'm still such a part of this thing.

>>Is there a chance we haven't seen the last of Boone?
Yeah, totally.  By the end of the season, I'll be back in flashbacks.  Here's the other thing: I'm gonna be coming back next season, too.

>>Wait- is Boone really dead?
He's dead as a doornail.  Trust me.  He's in the ground.  Dead, dead, dead.

>>So how will he be back next season?
[Producers] have kind of told me what they have in mind, but I don't think they know in whole yet.  But I can imagine it's gonna be pretty cool.  And I whole-heartedly look forward to it.

>>What will you do in the meantime?
I'm taking a trip to Iceland.  Then I'm going to South Africa to shoot Wes Craven's new film.

>>There are rumors that Boone may not be the only main character dying.  What can you tell us about that?
There are gonna be a lot more.  I'm gonna sound like an ass for saying this, but I'd rather be the first one off.  It was all the more of a shock to me and the cast and to the story.  You never forget the first, right?

You're quite welcome, I feel it's my job in this world to get as many people as I can hooked on Lost (and porn, but that's another story).  Anyway, the UK is set to air Lost sometime in your Winter.  I am really flabbergasted as to why 'the powers that be' delayed the series for so long, but it IS worth the wait.  If anyone ever wants to talk Lost, IM me or add me on MSN, really, I'm up for it anytime ;) I am completely obsessed :[

So as not to make this post completely OT;

Ok I know who's being poisoned.  I can't see this person dying SO it must be someone else who bites the dusts.  If you want to know who's being poisoned and also what the last few episodes entail, go to TV TOME's episode guide (http://www.tvtome.com/Lost/guide.html).  w00t!, they sound so darn exciting! :D

Also, if you're from the US, there'll be an article in USA Weekend magazine about Lost.  Kristin Veitch (the TV spoiler lady from E!News) had a nice long chat with producers Damon Lindelof and JJ Abrams and got some exclusive scoop, which will be on stands next weekend (7-8 May).

I don't know, I think her reaction is somewhat understandable, her brother just died and Locke was obviously hiding something.  I mean, I wouldn't recommend taking the law into your own hands, but I don't think you can really fault her for her reaction.  Of course if she continues to harrass and threaten Locke, then that's a whole other issue, but I think it's ok to cut her some slack this one time ;)

Just saw the 21st episode last night and WOAH WOAH WOAH!  I liked how that guy Saiid was after shot himseld...god that was just.....wooooo!

I can fully understand why Shannon wanted to kill Locke, but I think she needs to take some time out to think about it.  Locke was obviously lying about the hatch for a reason so...I don't know :-\

Anyone know when the 22nd episode will be shown?
Title: Re: "Lost"; Dominic Monaghan - Beware, spoilers!
Post by: skadi on May 06, 2005, 10:27:40 PM
I haven't seen the ep, but I've read the guide.  From what I understand Shannon had only heard Jack's side of events, and Jack thought Locke had caused Boone's death, ergo so did Shannon.  If someone loved is murdered (and I think she did love him, not as much as he loved her, mind) 90% of people want to kill the murderer.  Of course most of us wouldn't, but there are still that tiny percentage that do.  Normally I don't think Shannon would be the type to kill for a loved one, but add the stress of being on an island, faced with the possibility you'll NEVER be rescued...

You all know I'm not a fan of hers but in the same situation I'm not sure I wouldn't do the same :-\

Anyone know when the 22nd episode will be shown?

Next Wednesday, and it's a Kate episode.  The week after is the first final, the week after that (25th) is the second half of the final...a 2 hour episode too! :D

You know what my theory on Kate is (and bare in mind this is only a theory, NOT a spoiler)?  I reckon she has a kid.  Whether the kid was the 'man' she killed or something else, I don't know, but ever since the last Kate episode (with the toy plane), I've just gotten that impression.  Of course, I'm probably WAY off base, I'm never any good at speculating on this kind of show.

Don't read if you don't want to know!

From this weeks chat at E!News:

Q: Lost!
A: Only three episodes left, leading up to the big two-hour finale! Whee! I stand by my statement that the finale will shock the shitake mushrooms out of you. And the monster will return.

Q: What is in that dang hatch?!
A: I have no idea, but I think Walt does. This week, everyone will find out the hatch exists, and though Walt has never seen it, he will tell Locke not to open it. Other secrets will be outed this week, too, like Kate's. And Sawyer will be accused of being the one to poison someone else, but it's not him.

Q: So, just how huge is the Lost cliffhanger? Is it going to be a "Who shot J.R.?" moment? Can't you just spill a little? For me?
A: If you saw the Lost article (Click here!) (http://www.usaweekend.com/05_issues/050508/050508tv_lost.html) in USA Weekend, you know that is exactly how Damon Lindelof described it. I can tell you only that it involves someone being taken, and that others are left with their lives hanging in the balance.

Q: And the bell tolls for...Michael. Next one dead on Lost. True or false?
A: I swear to you, I do not know. And as I understand, no one else does either.

Q: Is this week the raft episode on Lost? I don't want to see Sawyer go!
A: Me either, but he most definitely is.

Q: C'mon, finale, Lost, dish?
A: We'll see lots of the four boys at sea, and what happens out there will shock the daylights out of you.

Q: Is there something going on between Turnip Head (Claire's baby) and Walt?
A: Mmm-hmmm.

Q: More Lost! Please!
A: Okay, jeez. You guys are rabid on that show today--understandably. With Boone gone, the original 14 are no longer, and you can expect constant change in the cast, as early as this week. A Minute with Stan Hooper's Dan Roebuck is joining the castaways as Mr. Artz, and the crazy French lady returns the following week to warn the others.

Spoilers below, so beware..  ::)  :P

:o  Poor Walt..  I mean, who knew the others were going to take him?!  Well, I did as soon as the boat started coming back towards the raft..  I mean, I just knew it was too good to be true..  Poor kid..  & I hope that Sawyer wasn't injured too seriously!  :'(  That'd be so awful..

& Explain to me why Jack thinks that Locke is going to cause problems for them?!  I love Locke..  He's such a cool dude..  I don't think he's dangerous..  Jack is just threatened by him..  ::)  Locke is so cool and he's absolutely harmless..  He wouldn't do anything to hurt anyone..  Not in my opinion anyways..  :P

Oh and in case anyone is wondering, Aaron means (in Hebrew) enlightened and (in Arabic) messenger..  ;)

And Charlie, that pig!  :o  He took some of that heroine that was on the crashed plane that fell on Boone..  *scoffs*  Weakling..

Or maybe Charlie took the statue and left the drugs.  I mean, it was a statue of the Virgin Mary, and he was Catholic, so...But I dunno.

I had a feeling they would take Walt.  Because they said they were coming for the boy, and Aaron (Turnip Head) wasn't the only boy.

Funny thing is, Aaron's the middle name of one of my best friends...interesting...:P

Yeah, that's true..  He could've only swiped the statue..  But I doubt it..  :P  ;)

& Riddle me this ... where in the heck did the others get the fuel to run that boat?!  Aren't we to assume they've been there for a very long time?  And if they had a boat with some friggin' fuel, why not try to escape the island on it?!

It was never said that the "others" lived on the island.  They might be able to come and go as they please.  But I dunno...

It still spooks me a bit that the name of a character on my favorite show in the entire world is the same as the middle name of one of my favorite people in the entire world.

SPOILER ALERT, Look away those who haven't seen the first Lost season!

Michelle Rodriguez is joining the cast of Lost as a second-season series regular, ABC has confirmed. She's set to reprise her role as Ana-Lucia Cortez, a passenger on Oceanic Airlines flight 815 who was introduced in part one of the season finale and assigned seat 42F on the plane. No scripts have been written yet, but we can only presume this means the passengers in the back of the plane are living elsewhere on the island! :O

Says Damon Lindelof: "Michelle's character (Ana-Lucia) will be as purposefully shrouded in mystery as humanly possible. I can only assume there will be significant hunger for her backstory, but as the flashbacks have become the stealth 'franchise' of the show, giving away anything about her would amount to a significant spoiler...But we know she was sitting in the back of the plane. And we also know she's on the show next year...So, draw your own conclusions. If I were a betting man, I'd say some of those tail-folk just might have survived."

Q: Saaawyer!!! Please tell me my Southern Comfort will live and that Artz was the only character to die? Speaking of, was it wrong of me to have laughed so hard I fell off the couch?
A: Oh, no. I think we all did. Josh Holloway will be back.

Q: I know I said I wanted Walt to die, but I changed my mind. Tell me he lives.
A: You fickle pickle! I will tell you this: Malcolm David Kelley will be back to work on Lost next season. But there are definitely issues with his rapid aging (remember, each season is only 40 days).

Also, check out THIS (http://www.oceanic-air.com/) website.  It's for the fake airline company, Oceanic, that was carrying the passengers in Lost.  Type in Hurley's numbers (4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42) in the section that says Travellers, then click 'Find'.  You get taken to a page with the seating plan.  Click on the row numbers on the flight's seating chart that match Hurley's numbers.  Something is supposed to happen (damn thing won't load for me).

I finally got that website to work, it gives a little preview for next season, although I didn't see new footage (I don't think anyway).  However it says something very interesting:

On the other side of the island they discover they aren't the survivors they thought they were.

Now what the heck does that mean?!

I think season 2 won't be aired until September/October (or maybe that's when they start filming...hmm)

This (click here) (http://www.visit4info.com/details.cfm?adid=23613) is a promo ad for season 1 (for Brit tv), thought you guys might like to see it.  It's quite different from the promo ad we got shown here in Oz, that's for sure.

No idea when it'll be shown but I think it's premiering sometime in August, so they should start the ad very soon, they usually start the promo's at least a month before the actual show starts.

I think I saw a bit of a trailer for this the other day whilst flicking through the channels on tv. From what I saw, it looked promising for being a decent program, and I definately plan to watch it. There haven't been many new programs that have been any good of late in my opinion. Going by what others have said about it though, it sounds like it shouldn't let me down.

Well, from what I've seen so far, it seems quite promising. Although the suspense part of the storyline can only last so long as they don't reveal what the thing out there is. Some parts I've seen seem like a mixture of Lord Of The Flies and Jurassic Park. Or is it just me and my strange mind?

And, Dom's singing, well, erm, twas interesting.

This show is breathtaking! I love the cross-over flashbacks to everyone's secret :D Ooo, Dominic is a GOD!
"I heard you calling for Jack. My name's Charlie by the way" ;D
And when he was singing! What a beautiful voice! ::)

I was watching some reviews of it this morning, and some critics are saying it's a little bit too "Hollywood" for them. I don't care! It's an amazing show with equally amazing cast to back it up! And the writing is so warped and almost philosophical  The polar bear, the French transeiver signal, and something that does freak me out on a different level is that Japanese man and his wife :8o Is he smothering her or is it just me?

And just for the record, I LOVE Hurly  He's so amazing, I'm adopting him :-\ :)

It was great to be able to see 3 episodes (good old E4). Only problem now is, it goes back down to seeing 1 new episode a week. That part isn't so good.

It does have an eerie feel to it, and some parts are just so unexpected.

By the way, is it just the 1 series, or are there more to follow after this one has ended?

I'll probably only watch the fourth episode, and won't watch the third again.
It's not that I don't want to see it again, just that there's something else on.

I think there should be a new double bill of it each week though. It's annoying having 3 episodes the first night, but then one 1 each wednesday after that.

At least for those of you who have not seen the first season....

I have a question for those who have:  If every prop in the show has relevance (such as the comic book Walt reads), then what could it mean if Sawyer was reading A Wrinkle in Time?

Hmmmmm........

I actually read somewhere that that book does hold relevance.  Hmmz.

Someone PLEASE tell me Charlie doesn't die in "Lost". My best mate Sara is driving me crazy, winding me up saying that she thinks he's going to cop it. :(
Do any of you know if she is right or wrong for CERTAIN?!

Put two and two together...Charlie, being played by Dominic Monaghan, is very, very good for ratings.  Hmmmmm...

What could the relevance of A Wrinkle in Time be, though?
Title: Re: "Lost"; Dominic Monaghan - Beware, spoilers!
Post by: skadi on August 18, 2005, 07:41:58 AM
What could the relevance of A Wrinkle in Time be, though?

Alternate universes/dimensions I presume.  It's one of the more popular theories going around that they've somehow entered another dimension.  I'm paraphrasing here, but you know the book has at least a tiny amount of relevance when you see the following sentence in an A Wrinkle In Time summary: "...the universe is threatened by a great evil called the Dark Thing and taking the form of a giant cloud...".  Sound kinda familiar?  ;)

It's some sort of game for Lost where you find things hidden on the beach, in the forest, etc.

I'm not sure what you're meant to do with the items, but I'm stuck after reaching the fuselage.   :(

EDIT: ooh, I just found my way out. I'm on the boar hunt now, but I can't get any further.

I thought I'd share what I've learned from Kristen (http://www.eonline.com/Gossip/Kristin/index.html) at E! Online about what we can expect for season 2 (beginning Sep 21 in the US).  It's going to be all jumbled because I had to go back in the archives a few weeks, so stick with me.  It's not specific stuff like naming a person who dies, but it does tell you if someone IS going to die, so if you don't want to know details like that, don't highlight the text :)

*The Raft Stuff Is "Gnarly": That's how Harold Perrineau describes the upcoming scenes for his group, which I hear take place beginning in the first episode. Word is, the first episode is on land, the second is on sea, and the third is back on land with a very cool reveal.

*Locke's Getting More Backstory: Terry O'Quinn is shooting another flashback episode. And once again, we'll be seeing Locke in a "different light."

*Michelle Rodriguez has joined the cast as a regular (she played Ana-Lucia, who had a brief meeting with Jack in the airport bar)

*Jack Gets a New Love Interest: When asked if there might be a romance with new series regular Michelle Rodriguez, Matthew Fox tells me: "I think that there's probably plans for that. You know, they had a really cool first meeting in the airport, and I think for 40 days, Jack has thought that she passed away on the flight. So, when and how they meet and what that means to the both of them is very exciting."

Q: How many new characters are there going to be this season of Lost?

A:  I hear five to eight, and some (most?) of them are buddy-buddy with Ana-Lucia, who's living a harsh existence elsewhere on the island. I also hear that our raft friends are separated from the rest of the bunch for the first third of the season but are interacting with others (possibly the Others, or other others). Also, Kate is going to run into a bit of life-threatening peril.

Q:  Can you give us one clue on the Lost death?

A: Female. October--I think, at least that was the original plan. Not at the hands of the "monster." And another one bites the dust: A male castmember is leaving the show for good. But this one won't be a death.

There has been some talk of the female NOT leaving though - I guess we'll have to wait and see for sure.

Q:  What's in the hatch?

A: I can tell you it's nothing at all that I had thought of, nor anyone else I know had thought of. And it's good.  From Damon Lindelof: "What's in the hatch is so intense/cool/complicated that it actually takes three full episodes to fully understand it. Fortunately, these are the first three episodes of the show, so the wait is over!"

Q:  Do you know anything about Michelle Rodriguez's character?

A: I'm told it's "more Lord of the Flies-ish." My sense is that she's going to be something of a female lead for the storyline that's been going on on the other side of the island. As Damon Lindelof said in this week's column, she has her "own show going on." And I'm guessing this means we're going to see a tad less of some of the others we now know.

*"Omigod!" That's what Jorge Garcia (Hurley) promises in the first few episodes of Lost when the survivors go down the hatch. "It's on the level, of like, Locke in a wheelchair," he says. "The great thing about it is you learn a little bit about what's in the hatch, and as you go through the first few episodes, more comes together, and you realize that it's a much more significant thing than it was at the start of the show. It's a really cool reveal."

And according to Dominic Monaghan, we won't miss a beat. "I think between the end of the first season and the start of the second there's about 35 seconds," he told me. "So, you're right in the midst of this action."

Meanwhile, executive producer Damon Lindelof (still one of the nicest people in Hollywood) is a teensy bit nervous about what the fans will think. "Basically, we were like, 'Are we crazy? Should we do this? Is the network gonna let us do this?' " he said about the second-season reveal. "And everybody's been tremendously onboard with it. A lot of people might think it's weird, and a lot of people might hate it. But we think it's really, really cool, and we had to execute it and take it seriously because we did not want to go into the hatch and just find another hatch or some maps or, like, a toilet."

*Quote from Dom Monaghan:  "Charlie and Locke are going to reexplore their relationship. They kinda started doin' that in the early part of the show. Locke kinda became Charlie's mentor a little bit.

"And I think Charlie's obviously gonna be struggling with the fact that there's now heroin on the island, and kind of a huge supply of heroin, so he has to deal with those demons. Also, the baby's gonna play a big part in his life, as is Claire. So, Charlie's gonna start to actually contribute to the group a little bit more, I think."

It's bad however considering that it's apparently around $24.99 for the whole series in America but by the time the second part of the series one box set is released here in January, it will be about £50 for the two.

I recommend you buy it from America to be honest, if you can play region 1 DVDs. :\

Actually, I was wrong about the price since they must have put the wrong price on it. It's $42.44 at Sam's in the US if there's a Sam's near you, but it's actually cheaper than a lot of places. My mother got it for me yesterday and I watched "Pilot" Parts 1 and 2 all the way through and "Confidence Man" all the way through, though I just have to watch the rest of "Tabula Rasa". ;D

I paid £30 for the whole of Season 1 from the States I dotn know why they are releasing it in the UK in two parts it seems pointless and what a price they are charging for it :8o

Yeah, twas a shame about that, although nothing else really happened, at least anything that I consider whole episode material.

Wahoo! I watched the whole of Lost last week because I couldn't resist it... ;D And it's sooo amazing!!! I don't know whether or not to start reading the next season spoilers or not though...  ???

Yep from 8pm on Sunday Jan 1st there are episodes being shown

From the episode named Homecoming so not from the beginning as some may be hoping.

Not including the first one. :(
What's the point in that? If they're playing the first series all together surely you'd expect the first episodes aswell.
Sounds a little daft to me.

hehehe Artzed (sp?)
But still don't know what's in the hatch, annoyingly :(

And Spring seems so far away for the second series :'(

True, but it's still a long wait.

Actually, when does Spring start?

Indeed it does, and I can't wait. Watching the reshowing on E4 at the moment, and May 2 seems so far away from now :(

I'm not too sure where to post about Season 2. I've only seen the ones on C4 and E4 for season 2 so technically it should go in the other thread, but if I go in the Season 2 one, I'll see stuff that hasn't happened yet. Such a predicament ::) :P

Fair do's then :)

Noticed last night the link between the video and The Hanso Foundation (http://www.thehansofoundation.org/). Missed it the first time ::) Thought the advert was a little odd the first time I saw it though, as it didn't really seem to be advertising anything.

I've been trying to call the number but I keep forgetting the number as I'm dialing LOL!

Does anyone know it so I can call it and see what happens?

I think it was 0800 66 66 40, although that's just from memory, and I haven't tried it yet either

Tried it yesterday, but the number's not working anymore, line's been closed. You get a password to the site if you get through www.thehansofoundation.org (http://www.thehansofoundation.org) but even with that it's still a little weird and confusing. Typical Lost really, never explaining anything, just making an endless list of new questions! ::)

Just wondering whether anyone here is keeping up with the weird goings on at the Hanso Foundation?
I've been exploring it a bit, and there's plenty of things to come up with strange and wonderful theories.
But do you think this site would be for the U.S more than for those in the U.K, seeing as though they are ahead of us here? ???
I don't want to find something that refers to something that hasn't happened in the U.K yet. :-\

I've been following along with the hanso foundation site game and I haven't seen anything that would spoil anything in Lost so far, don't worry. :)

It's more about the background surrounding the Hanso Foundation rather than Lost itself, it's REALLY interesting though, it's very creepy how they make it sound real. :8o

Good good, although I've been keeping up to date with it anyway. Couldn't resist it. ::)
Tis such a brilliant idea by them, making it all seem that much more real.

Definitely enjoying it, although annoyed E4 stopped showing the episodes a week in advance to let the channel 4 lot to catch up.
Guess it's only fair though.
Meant no new Lost episode for 2 whole weeks!! :o Don't know how I've survived ::)

And yeah, watched the preview too. But because of my awful memory, I've forgotten what's going to happen so tis all good. :P

Have to say, Charlie became rather annoying to me for a bit. Although not as annoying as Bernard, he's just soooo dull. Especially his and Rose's episode.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR NON SERIES 2 VIEWERS

hmmmm, well now that I've seen the finale, I'm actually kind of disappointed. :-\
Sure it answered a few questions like what most likely caused the plane crash which was rather nice to know, but at the end, the thought that their island may have been discovered by outsiders kind of ruins the thought that they're actually completely lost on a unique island.

Just a thought, but as for the hatch door flying off after the bright light and strange noise, I don't think it was an explosion of a normal type, but some sort of huge electromagnetic discharge after it was left building up with the button not being pressed, which would be enough to shift that rather heavy iron hatch door. People in the hatch surely can't be dead, all the characters down there are all too cool. :D

and i agree- the characters in the hatch can't have died!!! espesially locke... no way will he have gone...

My guess is that it'll start in something like late February to March.
It should be earlier but the US stop showing it after a bit, something to do with their TV ratings I think. We should really get it earlier than March but twould mean we catch up the US viewings, which can't possibly happen as they must see it first. Otherwise no one can see it.
