So, when did you last watch these films?

I watched all three of them over the New Year and I have to say, they made me cry so much!!!  Hadn't seen them for years but they are sure worth another look!  ;)

I watched FOTR before Christmas - extended version and most of The Hobbit - Desolation of Smaug today.
Watching FOTR really made me emotional as it brought back a lot of memories. It's one of my favourites! I really want to sit down and watch the extended editions soon. It's hard making time to do so.

Can't say I'm surprised, Bel - I wouldn't doubt that you would have anything less than the EE version!  :P
I managed to get mine from the place I volunteer. It was "fairly" expensive for a charity shop - about £6-£8!  ::)
It was all 3 LOTR films though! Couldn't not buy it.

I haven't watched them in a while, purely because I like to sit down and watch all 3 together, and who honestly has the spare time to do that?  ::) When I had surgery in April I had a few weeks off work and me and friend were determined to get together and watch all 3 extended editions back to back but it never happened, and it's something i've never done but want to do!

Return of the King makes me cry so bad every time, when the Hobbits cry, I cry.  :'(

I've never done it either but have always wanted to.
The part that always gets me is when Frodo wakes up. Then the other hobbits come in and I'm just gone :'(

That part sets me off Pollzie then I can't stop until well after the credits. My sobbing becomes uncontrollable when everyone bows for the hobbits and then when sam says goodbye to Frodo  :'(

I'd love to watch them all in one but I don't think I could ever manage it, sure I've tried before! I know I've done 2 in one day followed by the 3rd on the next.
Think I may invest in the extended copies when I get paid as I never got to see them!  :ph34r:

There are loads of crying bits! 

I watched the first extended on Nye and then the other two on the following day... was brilliant!  :D

The real sobbing is at the Grey Havens when they all leave

Oh yes indeed.
I watched all the special features sections of the extended editions - well, Two Towers and FOTR today. So interesting!!

Last time I properly watched them all was probably a couple of years ago...

I went though a phase the other day of watching all of the behind the scenes stuff on YouTube the other day, love watching all that stuff, the way they all talk about it and eachother is so nice to hear

I did that too this week, in fact the past couple of weeks.
It seems to be my "go-to" at the moment to cheer me up. I also love listening to the audio commentaries, so interesting to hear about how they made it and stories from behind the scenes.
I find myself when watching the special features on YouTube (I do have the DVDs, the extended editions of Desolation of Smaug and An Unexpected Journey delivered this week) just absolutely belly laughing! Laughing until I cry.
Especially when Jed Brophy, James Nesbett, Mark Hadlow, Adam Brown and Stephen Hunter are involved, haha.

I watch the extended atleast once a year with my sister, although need to get a new box set for next time as they're all scratched now!
