Somewhere in the move(s) I have misplaced (or maybe even lost! :o) my copy of the LotR trilogy! :'( I don't know have money to buy copies right now either.. I'd ask someone to let me borrow them, but that wouldn't exactly work out.. :8o

Library? Or a charity book shop - there's normally copies knocking about in those places that you can pick up quite cheap (depending on how charitable you're feeling. :P)
-
If my mom could find her copies I know I could borrow hers.. Actually, I could probably have hers..
I need to do some searching in the garage for any crates that say "books" and hopefully I'll find my copies of the trilogy..

Thanks! Those were some good prices, too!

So I was at the bookstore today and bought a new copy of all the books together in one.. It set me back $20, but that was cheaper than buying them individually, so I went ahead and got the combo..
Now all that's left is to read them! :D

I have the books individually and in combo. The combo is brilliant, you can just flick backwards and forwards to anything. Hardly touch the separate ones anymore. My three-in-one is starting to look a bit dog-eared now though. It's fallen victim to a few spilled glasses of water, the pages are fairly well-thumbed and it's all going a bit yellow. I don't care though, I'll keep it until it falls apart in my hands. Then I'll tape it back together and carry on! :D

Yeah, that's when you know a book is well-loved! :D Those are the best, in my estimation..

I'm on my second copy. I bought the first new in 1979 amd read it so much that it started to fall apart so when I saw a copy in a charity shop a couple of years ago for 50p and in much better condition than mine I snatched it up quick smart.

Good deal, Les! You sure know how to bargain hunt.. :D

It's official, my crate with my LotR and Hobbit books are missing.. :'( I've looked at all the crates/ boxes in my closet and my dad looked at all the boxes/ crates in the garage and it was nowhere to be found.. I'm so upset because I had several copies of the LotR trilogy and at least one nice hardback copy of the Hobbit.. -sigh- Oh well, I guess I'll have to start collecting again.. :(
-
well the thrift/charity shops, market stalls and amazon are all good places to look for books at a fraction of the price of the retail trade. I can't go past a place that has a stand of cheap books. My girls steer me past anywhere that has even one book in it. ::)
-
Yeah, i know.. There's tons of places to by replacement books.. I just hate that I have to buy anymore at all.. :P I'm not sure whose fault it is, I guess it went missing during one of our moves.. :8o

it's easily done :*D
-
Aw, thanks.. :-*

I just realized the other day that my copy of the Hobbit (my leather-bound version) is also missing.. :(
