Title: When did you?
Post by: Beleriel on June 30, 2007, 05:51:09 PM
OK come on confess it!  When did you last watch one of the LOTR trilogies?

I am seriously thinking of having a trilogy weekend and watching all three.  Hmmm what a great idea!

Personally, I havent watched any of them for at least 12 months!   :o  THAT is a shocking revelation and one I should be ashamed of.

How about you?

I had a stint watching them last month. Couldn't watch all in one go so did an hour or so each evening.

Its been a couple of weeks... my sweetie and I had a LOTR thing for a while- we watched on a weekend over margaritas. What fun  :)

If you thought the battle sequences were awesome in the first place- they are even better with a slight tequila buzz. mmm...  (on our new TV too!! They were some pimp **** on a 42 in. plasma)

I watched FoTR about three years ago on my computer one night so I could browse all the special features and easter eggs.

But, this week I decided it was high time I watched the trilogy. I've owned RoTK on DVD since the day it came out and have yet to watch it. I've only seen it once in the theatre, but for various personal reasons have put off watching it again until tonight.

And when I finish, gods help me I shall watch the Rankin Bass presentation of The Hobbit.

About 2 weeks ago. I really like listening to FotR on my PC while doing anything else, like a background audiobook.

Channel 4 is showing them each Sunday :p....I then got bored recently and put on Return of the King and became all nostalgic and have concluded I really ought to become a Tolkie again...I mean I struggled the remember the names of the three elven rings...its just shocking...

I still watch them regularly, about once a month or so with my sister who's just as mad about Lotr. It's our thing, we make a fancy dinner, prepare some fancy dessert, put on our PJ's and watch it while stuffing ourselves with food and sweets :D

Plus she's pregnant now and she's terrified her kid wont like Lotr so she's watching it all the time to make sure the baby learns from the start to love it, hahaha :D

I watch them whenever I can!  I have to admit, I insisted on watching them for the last 3 weeks when they've been on TV.   I love the EE versions with the actors commentary, especially when Sean, Elijah, Dom and Billy were telling about the game of Tig.  Or when Dom says something like,  "Oh this is the best line in the movie" and it cuts to a shot of Merry picking up the sword given to him by Strider on Weathertop and the hobbit says "woo!!"  or some such! LOL

I have to admit - and I have been thinking about this quite often recently - that I haven't watched them in quite a while, i.e. at least 6 months, could well be a year. I do feel guilty but it's not like I'm ever going to forget about them, and I'm not ever going to stop loving the books or films.

I watch them quite alot, my friend hasn't seen them all yet so we've been watching them when she's been coming up to visit me at Uni. It's only recently i have been watching them on DVD, i have loved them for a long time and not watched them often, i'm not obsessed with LOTR, i just love it and for me it's not just the films that make up LOTR, it's the books too, so i don't think you have to watch them all the time ... reading the books is just as great :)

It's been within the last year that I've watched FotR and TT..  We haven't gotten around to finishing the trilogy though..

I saw all the movies multiple times in the theaters, so I saw them plenty when they first came out, and I watched a marathon when RotK was released..

Sometimes it's just too emotional for me to watch them... it brings back lots of feelings and memories..  :[

I watched them a couple of months ago. Before that, it was usually once a year... at Christmas.

OK, fair enough with the movie trilogy.
When was the last time anyone READ from the trilogy? For those of you who've only seen the flick, you really ought to read the book too.
I admit I haven't read or watched LOTR in a few years, but you really can get absorbed in the book, even deeper than the movies .

I don't know how the term "flibble" appeared in my last post, as I meant to say "flick".
Must be a goblin in the hard drive.

It has to do with what words are censored..  I don't know what you were trying to say, so I can't say why it would've been censored..

It's been quite a while for me, I'm trying to hold out as long as I can so I can watch them all before the hobbit so that they'll seem all fresh and lovely
