My brother told me that if you did this thingy to the scene selection this Golden Ring would come up... so I tried it and I couldn't find it and I just looked it up on IMDB and sure enough:
EASTER EGG: In the extended DVD version on the first movie disc, go to chapter 29-30 under the scene selection. Press down under chapter 30 and a gold ring will appear. It's a hidden extra of the MTV awards for Andy Serkis receiving best virtual performance.
I cant get it to work... is it just me and if so can SOMEONE with brains translate that into Ear simple language please? :8o

It's only on American copies of the DVD, like the Special Online Content. (It annoys me that Americans get the preferencial treatment.) Sorry, to disappoint you. :(

Nah tis alright I'll go blame my brother for getting my hopes up! :P
Im just happy that I wont be sat there for days pressing the down arrow :P

Fellowship of the Ring Easter Eggs
- On the first disc, On scene selection scroll down to the last scene, but press down again and it will reveal a hidden ring. Click it to watch a Council of Elrond MTV parady starring Jack Black and Sarah Michelle Gellar. (Not available in the UK due to the BBFC classification, you can watch it here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AoJujGPd1zs).)
- On the second disc go to the scene selection and click scene 48. If you highlight below the 48 now, you should see what looks like two towers - click on it to see a special theatrical trailer of The Two Towers. (I can't find a clip of this, and I don't think I saw the actual trailer in the cinema either. It is on the UK version, though.)
.
The Two Towers- On the first disc go to the scene selection and below "29-30" press the down arrow to reveal a ring (much the same as on TFOTR DVD), click on it to reveal Gollum accepting an award at the MTV Awards in 2003. (Due to Gollum's swearing this wasn't allowed on the UK DVDs - click here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uj411At8VRI) to see it anyway.)
.
The Return of the King- On the first disc, go to the scene selection, scroll down the scenes, and when you you get to 33-36 press the down arrow to reveal a prank interview with Dom Monaghan and Elijah Wood. (Again, not on British DVDs, but I think this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJYJ7qS1xNM) is it.)
- On the second disc, do the same "go to scene selection and press down" thing to reveal a ring. Click on the ring to reveal a prank interview with Peter Jackson. (Again, not on British DVDs, I have never seen it. I thing it's this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KniEJEuBe9o).)

So are there NO easter eggs on the UK EE DVDs? I bought these as well due to a too good to miss offer in Virgin megastores... i'm slightly disappointed lol.. but not too much because the EE DVDs are amazing, i've never seen anything like these DVDs before! My friends told me they were great ages ago but i never bought them due to them being so much money.. but i got all 3 in a box set for £21 with student discount :) .. I love special features and stuff so i'm not too disappointed but finding hidden extras is always a bonus :)

It was definitely awkward, but I think that it was meant to be awkward.. PJ just took everything in stride, I  him.. You have to "get" the humor of Ben Stiller for that to be funny, I think..
I need to go back and watch all the EE goodies again.. :-\
