Why not to establish a separate board in the Tolkien only section to represent ALL games of that section? I think if it were so more people'd take part in the discussion in the boards such as movies, TLotR, and Advanced reading. Besides, if I were one of the guests, who are around here in great numbers recently, I believe I would like to pay more attention to the latest disscussions than to the games. I think it's better to represent the disscussions in the main forum page, rather than games, which overshadow other posts.
What do you think? :)

You mean a separate board for the games and quizzes? You are a man after my own heart, Taurendil, you really are. The old Quizzes and Riddles board was great - it should never have gone.

the games never disappeared. The games were simply moved to the relevant Tolkien Boards. This was an admin decision. No one has stopped any games... there is no need to morn their loss :)

Surely you want the Tolkien boards to be active? OK, I understand that the Books - TLOTR & The Hobbit board would be less active with the loss of Hangman and Who said that? but we would have a robust games board. But we still have genuine discussion in there - the discussion between myself and Taurendil over the Quenya word for "yesterday" and on the possible future of Quenya was a proper debate.
Every single other Tolkien forum I have ever been on has a games board.
Is it an admin decision we can appeal? Because from other people I talk to it seems to have been an unpopular one...
But fewer people play the games now, in fact, barely half a dozen.
And there aren't quizzes like there used to be. I do mourn the loss of the games because although they haven't disappeared, very few people play them now, so they are effectively lost. With a dedicated games board it would give people one place to find all the games, and may just entice them back into the Tolkien section of the forum.
One of the best things about games boards is that they enable ordinary members to learn stuff about Tolkien in an easy and accessible manner - isn't that something you want to encourage? Isn't it your duty as lover of Tolkien's works and the administrator of Age of the Ring (and possibly a member of the Tolkien Society) to educate people? To give people an opportunity to learn about Tolkien's fantastic works?

Yeah, I'd appeal, I liked that games board. It was easy acccess to the hangman, which I stopped doing because of having to go through the Tolkien boards.

I think this should be put down to a vote for what the members of the forum want, although it is up to EG and the admin/mod team. :)

I didn't realise that debating Quenya doesn't count as debating a Tolkien issue. I'll make sure not to talk about Quenya in future. ;)
What about the thread about the crebain? Who was on the White Council? Will Morgoth Return? If you look you'll see there are actually more threads that I have replied than first appears.
However, I do need something to debate, y'know. If the topic doesn't interest me that much, or I feel that there isn't anything extra I can really say (e.g. (The Origins of Legolas) then I won't reply. There aren't exactly loads of threads are there?
You seem to be avioding the actual point of this topic, which is bringing back the Games board.

grouping games together does sound like a good idea. I haven't played any myself, but thts mainly down to the fact I don't want to wade throu a pile of other posts to find them.

I think having an actual board for the quizzes was a lot easier. This is because many people do not visit the board doo das that they have been moved on because they do not wish to discuss (for example) the books. Before, they could simply go onto the quizzes and riddles board and not have to go looking for a quiz as they were lain out before their eyes.
I did not come on this forum for a while, when I left there was a quizzes and riddles board, when I came back it was gone, because of that I thought there simply weren't any quizzes any more and cried for hours on end ::), it took me a while to notice there were still quizzes but they had been moved but I honestly didn't want to go traipsing through all the book boards to find them because I would not understand half of things on there as I haven't completed the books. There are many quizzes I still have not found because of that which I used to enjoy when they were on the quizzes board.

if you havent read the books, how could you do the quizzes ?
the Admin are currently discussing this issue, but as yet, we havent come to any decisions :-\ Will let you all know when we do :)

Yeah, its kind of hgard to explain, I've attempted to read the books twice so I know parts of it, but not like anyone who has read them properly

Well, that Games child board is a notable advancement. Thanks! Though I personally think that all games from the Tolkien only section including Movie quote game, for example, should rather be there than anywhere else, despite the fact they don't belong to the LotR and the Hobbit but to other works. That'll make them more .. er .. active. But anyway it's only my point of view. ::)

from a history point of view the movie games have always stayed in the Movies board...
but theres no reason you cant start movie games in the child board
