*Erik cursed as he heard sounds of pursuit. It was night, his element, and yet he would still have to hide. He'd been moving well, brought a horse for speed, yet still his pursuers had come. There were too many of them for him to fight. Swiftly he yanked his steed off the road.*

Christine's heart was still pounding in her chest even as she and Raoul got farther away from Erik's lair, and then the Opera House itself. She never looked ahead, or at Raoul, only back. Back towards him, towards the past, towards the flames consuming the only home she'd known since her father died.
-
*Erik gritted his teeth as he brought his mount to a halt.* Sorry Ceaser *he said quietly as he patted Ceasers neck, glad that Ceaser were black and blended in with the night. Carefully he adjusted the hood of his cloak, bringing it a bit further forward to ensure the moonlight didn't gleam off his mask.*
-
(Is it alright if I control Raoul's char for a sec seeing as no one is playing him at the moment?
-
(Yep thats fine)
-
(k thanks)
As Christine was being led away by Raoul, he noticed her constantly looking back, and Christine heard him persist that she look away. "Come on Christine," he said, "there's nothing back there but bad memories. Don't look back." Reluctantly, she drew her gaze away from the burning opera house.
-
*Erik gritted his teeth as he heard the o too familar voice of that bloody fashion slave...if he hadn't have been there there then Christine wouldn't have left him.* Christine *he whispered, feeling the ooh too familar pang of grief*
-
Christine suddenly turned back again, thinking she heard her name, but then she stumbled and had to catch herself, and looked away. Raoul led her to a carriage, and she got in.
-
Fool *Erik muttered angrily,* stupid, stupid fool. Your getting as bad as the Vimcote *he was angry at himself, he could have been caught*
-
Christine stared blankly out the window of the carriage, not noticing when tears once again began to slowly roll down her face. In the distance, she saw the cemetary, where she had saved the Phantom's life by stopping Raoul's hand. She felt Raoul's hand on hers, and heard him whisper, "Once we're far away from the Opera Populaire, everything will be fine." but she didn't acknowledge him.
-
*Once he was sure no one else was about he clicked Cesar on into a easy going walk*
-
Christine, still watching out the window, thought she saw a lone horseman in the distance. Could it be? But she shook off the thought. The Phantom wouldn't have left his opera house. It was just her imagination.
-
*Erik kept on the road, hood up, masking his face...and hiding the mask he had just had chance to collect before they'd really scoured the Opera House for him. He'd been forced out, and had barely had the time to collect some food for the road, and some money and his mask before he'd had to flee to the stables and collect Cesar*
-
Christine watched the horseman until she couldn't see him anymore. Without thinking, she laid her head on Raoul's shoulder and fell asleep.
-
*once the carriage was out of sight, and Erik was sure he wouldn't catch up with it he clicked Cesar into a trot, needing to get as far away from the Opera House and those no doubt still searching for him as possible. He couldn't get caught...couldn't get taken back there, not to the freak show, or worst. He felt the tears rolling down his face but ignored them, blinking them out when they threatened to blur up his vision*
-
Christine dreamt as she slept. It was a strange dream. She was in a dark room surrounded by mirrors; all of which were smashed. She kept seeing images of Erik behind her, unmasked, but when she turned, no one was there. Just her reflection and Erik's image behind her. "Where are you?" she called, but he didn't answer. All she heard was her echo and his laugh, a sinister laugh. Suddenly, the mirrors melted together and she only saw herself, as Erik's image walked up behind her, he kind of melted into her image on the mirror. Soon, the only part of him left was the disfigured side of his face...on her face. She screamed, and Erik's famous Punjab Lasso appeared at her shoulder. She awoke drenched in sweat, with Raoul looking at her in concern.
-
*Erik heard Christines scream and though he longed to ensure she was okay he forced himself not to. Raoul could look after herself*
-
Christine sat up quickly. She longed for a mirror, just to check her face. She reached up and touched the side of her face, it felt normal, it was just a dream. Or nightmare, rather, she thought. She calmed down and Raoul asked, "Are you alright? You screamed in your sleep, and I couldn't get you to wake up. What's the matter?" Christine shook her head, and managed a soft "Nothing." before she suddenly looked sick. Raoul ordered the carriage to be stopped, and he waited inside as Christine rushed out to the roadside. Moments later, an awful retching sound could be heard.
-
*As Erik heard the sound of Christines retching he couldn't hang back any more, taking Ceaser off the road he tethered him to a tree before he could get in hearing distance and stalked noiselessly through the shadows. As he saw Christine so helpless he couldn't help himself. Hidden deep within the shadows he couldn't stop himself singing to her* Wandering child, so lost, so helpess yearning for my guidence *his voice was soft, and enchanting, but he hid where it was coming from*
-
Christine heard his voice. Tears streamed down her face again. She tried to look up, but she heaved again and had to bend over. She shook her head violently. It can't be him, she thought, it can't. I'm imagining it, I'm hallucinating. Once she got herself to stop throwing up, she sat on her knees at the roadside, hugging her stomach. She rocked back and forth slightly, sobbing. She couldn't get herself to stop thinking of Erik. "He'll always be there, singing songs in my head," she rmembered telling Raoul, and she was right. "Oh my Angel," she whispered, "Will you always follow me, wherever I go? Why must your spirit follow mine, haunting me even in dreams?"
-
*Erik felt the tears rolling down his cheeks. He longed to take her in his embrace, but he was no fool. He could guess Raoul was in the carriage.* I only follow as I cannot live with you, Angel *he whispered*
-
(Not that he'd be watching, the lazy bum! lol)
Christine wiped the tears from her eyes and looked around trying to find Erik, but there were too many shadows, he could be any one of them. She felt drawn to him once more. Quickly, she looked at the carriage to make sure Raoul wasn't looking, then stood up and slowly walked towards the trees.
-
(LOL)
Christine...*Erik whispered, fighting back the tears, no longer masking the location of his voice. But he still didn't remove the hood that was hiding the mask. He didn't trust Christine not to try and remove his mask again. Not after she'd done that twice*
-
Christine turned, seeing a hooded figure. It had to be him, but she hadn't seen him so humbled before. He wouldn't show his face, and he sounded like he was trying not to cry. She didn't know what to say.
-
*Erik regarded Christine from those eyes hidden by his hood. Looked at the woman he had loved...still did love. The hurt coming again, that constant ache of loss. Yet he refused tob let himself cry, he refused to let Christine see those tears of pain she caused him*
-
Christine slowly took a few steps toward Erik, half of her hoping that he would walk to her as well, the other hoping Raoul would notice she's taking a long time and come out. She looked at the carriage, but there was no movement inside. She looked back at Erik.
-
*Slowly, although Erik knew he'd regret this later no doubt he took a step towards Christine, but his movement wasn't smooth and flowing, it was wooden. Part of him didn't want to see her, wanted to run. But the part of him that was still in love with her was in control*
-
Christine noticed a difference in the way he walked it wasn't the graceful, mysterious step she'd seen him walk before. She restrained herself from running to him, instead she walked calmly, also trying to hide tears. "I'm here." she whispered, not knowing why.
-
*Slowly, almost hesitantly Erik raised a gloved hand and gently wiped away the tears on Christines face. It was strange, he himself wouldn't cry but Christine would, but he paid no thought on it.* Oh Christine...*he whispered, his voice choked with the uncried tears*
-
Christine closed her eyes, not shying away from Erik's touch. The rest of her tears fell, and next thing she she knows, she's huddled against Erik's body, embracing him.
-
*Erik gently held Christine close to him, but not too hard she couldn't break away from him if she wanted to. The tears he'd striven to hide back for so long finally came, silently coursing down his face, hidden though by the deep hood of his cloak*
-
Christine didn't notice Erik's tears. All she heard was his and her heartbeats, slowly merging into one slow, steady rhythm.
-
*Erik held Christine close to him, needing her to feel alive. Without her by his side he had felt as if he was slowly dieing, as if she was the other side of his heart* O Christine..*he whispered again*
-
Christine lost herself. She buried her face in his chest and cried. "I'm sorry." she whispered.
-
O angel...I forgive you *Erik whispered, he couldn't keep angry at her, it hurt him to be angry at Christine, wounded him deep down. Although he longed to hurt her, to unleash his anger on her at how she had left him he couldn't*
-
Raoul had fallen asleep, letting Christine take her time, you can't hurry someone who's sick. He knew she'd be back soon anyway, it was just a silly nightmare, that's all. It's not like the Phantom had followed them here and had taken her again.
-
*Erik struggled to regain his usual icy composure that he had had for so long around Christine, to fight the tears back under control but with no luck. Christine had freed the tears that he had wanted to cry all those times when the Vimcote had managed to take her from him.*
-
(hehe Vicomte de Girlypants)
Raoul sat, then realised something was missing. There wasn't a single sound outside. He looked out the window, and Christine was nowhere to be seen. He rushed outside, and ran toward the trees. He stopped, when he heard whispers and quiet sobs. He hid behind a clump of trees, and saw two figures in an intimate embrace, Christine and that Phantom.
-
*Erik frowned as he heard the sound of rushed footsteps. What if it was the Vimcote...he gulped, still fighting to regain his composure. For Christines sake he wouldn't try and attack the Vimcote...god...he didn't want to lose her again.*
-
Christine heard the footsteps, but paid no attention to them.
Raoul turned around and leaned against the trees, sinking to the ground. He was distraught. Burying his face in his hands, he restrained himself from crying out in anger.
-
*Erik couldn't break away from Christine though he knew he should be returning to Cesar.*
*Cesar snorted, tossing his head slightly. He was worried for his master. He heard a group of people approaching and gave a snort. None of the footsteps were that of his masters.*
-
Christine had lost all knowledge of the world around her other than she and Erik embracing. Again, the halves of her mind were arguing. One didn't want Erik to leave without her, the oter kept wishing Raoul would appear and they could go on their way.
-
*Cesar tugged again, trying to break free.*
Well well well....what a pretty horse we have here, and all alone *came a leering voice. Cesar snorted, ears laid back*
Fiesty one too be the looks of things, Bert *came a second voice*
Here horsey horsey horsey, *Bert said slowly approaching Cesar.*
*Cesar waited till the one named Bert was in striking distance before snaking out his head and neck and biting Bert on the ear hard.*
OW! YOU LITTLE --- *Bert thumped Cesar on the nose.*
*Cesar reared up sharply with a whinny*
-
Christine was startled by the sudden noise of Cesar, she looked up at the direction of the horse, then looked up at Erik and gave him a confused look that said, "You have a horse?" Then she remembered the horsemen she saw, and everything fell together.
-
*Erik gasped.* Cesar! *he muttered under his breath, distractedly.* Something must be wrong.
-
Christine looked up at Erik. Her eyes asked, "Are you leaving?"
Raoul turned at Cesar's scream, forgetting that he was at risk of being exposed. He was worried that Christine was hurt.
-
*Erik was torn. He didn't want to leave Christine, but nor did he want anything to happen to Christine.*
-
Christine gently pushed at Erik. "Go," she said, "I'll follow."
Raoul watched as Christine pushed at the Phantom, and she told him something. He figuring that she was telling him to leave, snuck back to the carriage.
-
*Erik nodded.* I don't want you to get injured *he whispered softly. It had to be something serious for Cesar to whinny*
-
"I know." Christine whispered, leaning into him again.
-
Christine, I love you *he sang softly, as he felt Christine lean against him.*
*Cesar threw a load of thugs off him, bucking and kicking, and biting. He gave another whinny, knowing he couldn't hold them off forever*
-
Christine heard Cesar whinny again. "Go." she repeated, "I'll follow."
Raoul sat impatiently in the carriage, wondering why Christine was taking so long.
-
Be careful, my love *Erik replied, gently he raised Christines hand and softly kissed it before he slipped away through the shadows to where he'd left Cesar*
-
Christine stood for a moment, watching Erik leave. Then, she walked around for a second, noticing footprints leading to and from the carriage. They're Raoul's footprints, he was here. She thought. But then turned away and walked in the direction Erik had.
-
*As Erik heard another whinny from Cesar he quickened his pace, drawing his rapier. He didn't want to have to kill, not with Christine following but if need be. He sighed, if need be he would.*
-
Raoul heard Cesar whinny from the carriage. "He'd better get that horse under control." he muttered to himself. He fidgeted, Christine was still taking a while to get back, and he was getting anxious to leave.
Christine stopped. If Erik had to kill someone, she didn't want to see it. He cares deeply for his horse, just as he cares deeply for me, she thought.
-
Gentlemen *Erik said, most aimably as he came across the thieves* it would not be wise to continue in your action. *His voice was soft and friendly, but that was his most dangerous.*
Really now...and who are you to tell us what to do? *Bert sneered*
This fine horses owner. *Erik replied, the only sign he was ready to attack if need be was his drawn rapier*
Well he belongs to you no longer, he is ours now *Bert replied, not noticing the rapier*
Really? *Erik replied, again there was no hint of any attack in his voice*
Yes, and if you want him back then you'll have to fight for him. *Bert was unaware of the danger he was in.*
ah but you see M'sieur, that is why it wouldn't be wise. Because if I fight my horse fights with me. You have 5 seconds to leave, before I untie my horse, and with him kill you all. *As Erik spoke he had walked to stand next to Cesar.*

2 *Erik looked at the theives unflinchingly, his hand straying to the knot he himself had tied.*
*Bert looked at the rest of the thugs with him and nodded.*
*Erik growled as he had to defend himself against the group attack. He sliced one of them across the arm with his rapier before he was driven back.*
-
Christine couldn't help but watch. Erik was being over powered before he got a chance to set loose his horse. She had to help, she would fel bad if she didn't. Christine snuck over through the trees and quietly walked up to Cesar. "Shh," she whispered as she untied the knot holding him to the tree, "It'll be alright. You need to help your master."
-
*as soon as Cesar was free he spun round sharply rearing up with a neigh. His ears were pinned back as he charged at the thugs, who gave way to him.*
*As Erik saw Cesar approach his concentration was thrown just enough for one of the thugs to manage to slice him across the ribs with the short dagger. Erik ignored the pain, grabbing Cesars reins and vaulting up, spinning Cesar round.* If I were you...I'd run. You've just annoyed me, and when I'm annoyed then you stand the chance of death *Now Eriks voice was menacing.*
*the thugs glanced at each other nervously. One by one they started to sidle away in to the shadows. Soon the only one left was Bert.*
*Erik glared at Bert, intense hatred in his eyes. Slowly he nudged Cesar into a walk bringing him to stand, placing the tip of his rapier on Berts chest.* If I were you, I'd run. *He growled.*
*Bert gulped, taking a step back. He kept stepping back as Erik followed him.*
And run before you back into a tree *Erik continued.*
I'll get that horse someday, you see if I don't *Bert snarled before slipping into the shadows. Before Erik could react a dagger came spinning out of the trees. Erik dropped his rapier in agony as it buried into his arm, only just biting back a cry of pain*
-
Christine gasped in shock as the shining dagger spun in out of nowhere, and as his rapier dropped to the ground with a dull thud. She rushed out of her hiding place to Erik. She saw the dagger buried in his arm, wanting to pull it out, but she knew it would cause him more pain. But she had to do it. "This is really going to hurt, but I must." she warned him. She pulled the dagger out of his arm as gently as possible.
-
*Erik nodded his thanks, biting back the cry of pain again that had threatened to come.* I didn't want to have to kill *he said softly*
-
"Shh," Christine whispered, "I didn't want to see you kill, but I can't stand the thought of them hurting you."
-
*Slowly Erik dismounted, knowing if he fell off Cesar Christine wouldn't be able to take his weight, especially not if he fainted. He leaned against Cesars shoulder. Now the adreneline from battle had gone he could feel the pain from both wounds.*
-
Christine tore off bits of her dress and tied them around Erik's arm. She wasn't sure of what to do about the gash on his ribs. He need to get them treated, or something. SHe considered taking him back to the carriage and he could see a doctor, but then she thought of what Raoul would do, she couldn't risk it.
-
*Erik regarded Christine.* I'll follow on Cesar, he'll take care of me *he said softly, almost as if reading Christines thoughts. He winced slightly at the pain speaking caused him due to the gash but there was only the slightest hint of pain in his voice*
-
Christine shook her head. "I can't leave you, something may happen" she said.
Raoul had had enough. He got out of the carriage yet again and walked to the spot where he had last seen Christine and the Phantom...no one was there. He groaned, and walked further, looking for signs of either of them.
-
The Vimcote... your lover...surely he'll be looking for you though *Erik said quietly. If truth be told he was starting to feel weak, and dizzy*
-
Erik was right. Christine sighed. Raoul would be worried by now, if he hadn't left if he saw she and Erik togeher. Christine looked down at the ground.
Raoul finally came upon the two. There was something wrong though. The Phantom was injured, and he looked a bit weak, leaning on his horse. Raoul sighed. He didn't want to help, but he may feel guilty, or Christine would never forgive him if they just left him here. He knew he had to help, although he didn't want to.
-
*Erik could feel himself starting to lose conciousness but he struggled not to fall unconcious. He struggled even more when he noticed the Vimcote. He would not fall unconcious in front of his arch rival* Vimcote *he said quietly*
-
Christine looked at him puzzled for a moment, then looked around for Raoul. When she saw him, she looked pleadingly at him. "Please, Raoul, he needs help."
Raoul sighed again, knowing he couldn't just turn away. He walked slowly up to the Phantom, and had him put his arm around Raoul's neck, supporting him. He said nothing, not wanting to insult anyone with all the thoughts running through his head.
-
*Although part of Erik wanted to pull away from Raoul he knew he was only just keeping concious leaning slightly on Raoul. Wearily he raised his head, giving a soft click of his tongue.*
*Cesar snorted gently turning and falling into a slow walk, keeping near Erik, head up. His ears were pricked up, listening for any more commands from Erik*
-
Christine rushed over and took up Erik's other side, opposite Raoul. She didn't want to say anything more to him right then, all she wanted was to make sure Erik would be okay.
-
*Erik nodded his thanks, unable to speak from the pain. He kept his head low, still struggling against the black abyss that was looming ever closer.*
*Quietly Cesar followed his master, worried for him*
-
Christine could feel that Erik was getting close to blacking out. He was leaning heavier on she and Raoul. Soon, they reached the carriage. Raoul helped Erik in, although Christine could see that he was relucatant. She turned to Erik's horse, patting his muzzle. "You'll follow us, alright? We'll see too it that Erik gets help."
-
*Cesar snorted and gave a nod in response to Christines question. He would follow wherever Erik went.*
-
Christine then turned and followed Raoul and Erik into the carriage. She sat next to Erik instead of Raoul.
-
*Erik was almost unconcious, he was starting to reach the end of even his strength. The only thing that was making him still fight was the fact he didn't want to show Raoul he was too weak even to remain concious*
-
Raoul watched hurtfully as Christine decided to sit beside the Phantom rather than him, but he said nothing. Christine reached under the seat and pulled out her small sewing kit. She was going to try and stitch Erik's wounds, although she wasn't very good at sewing. "This will hurt, but it'll help." she whispered softly, threading the needle.
-
*Finally Erik gave in to his battle against unconciousness, slumping almost imperceptibly.*
-
Christine leaned on Erik, pushing him to lean on the wall instead of her. She tore away at the bits of his torn shirt so she could stitch the gash on his ribs. She worked in silence, trying to be as careful as possible. Raoul tried not to look in case he took his turn at being sick.
-
*Erik didn't stir, he was totally limp, and unconcious. This was mainly from a combination of blood loss and shock.*
-
When Christine finished with Erik's ribs, she examined her stitching, and sighed with relief when she decided they would hold. She then started on the deep gash on his arm, being more careful because it was deeper. Raoul tried to keep the bile in his throat down, thankful CHristine was almost finished.
-
*Erik didn't stir, totally unconcious. Even if he was concious he was too weak to protest.*
*Cesar followed the carriage, worrying about Erik but knowing that Christine would let no harm come to him*
-
When Christine finished with Erik's arm, she tested the stitches like she had with his ribs. Satisfied, she put her things away. She noticed Raoul was looking sick, so she said, "I'm done. He just needs rest now." Raoul relaxed a little.
-
*Erik hadn't stirred at all, but he was starting to sweat ever so slightly, his hood had fallen back ever so slightly, showing the normal mask he used to hide the disfigurement to his face*
-
Raoul and Christine both saw Erik's mask. Christine knew better from experience than to take it off, so she tried to ignore it. Raoul shuddered at the sight of it.
-
*Erik had regained partial conciousness and muttered something. IN his dreams he was trapped, in a cage...no...he wasn't trapped....he was too weak to escape....Javert came in....there was a crowd...no now there wasn't a crowd, it was just him and Javert.*No *Erik whispered quietly in his sleep, struggling to wake up but he couldn't he was too weak*
-
Christine turned suddenly when she heard Erik whisper "No." he was obviously dreaming about something. Perhaps a nightmare. "Shh, it's alright, go back to sleep." She whispered, gently rubbing his shoulder. Raoul tried not to glare as she watched Christine comfort the Phantom. He just had to show up, he thought.
-
*Erik calmed down slightly as the nightmare faded, it was replaced by something else...a dark room...he couldn't make out where he was or why...all he knew was he was trapped...and he couldn't escape*
-
Christine continued rubbing Erik's shoulder, even though he'd calmed down a little.
-
*Erik heard someone coming...it was the sultana 'Let me go' he pleaded. He was almost crying in his sleep. Sharply he flinched ever so slightly as the Sultana spoke, yet he couldn't hear her voice*
-
Christine tried to comfort Erik while she heard him pleading in his sleep. She couldn't stand watching him suffer through things that weren't even really standing before him. She rubbed his shoulder and continued to whisper to him. Raoul stared out the window, wishing he could fall asleep too, so he wouldn't have to watch this.
-
*Erik gave a soft whimper as he saw a whip crack towards him, he didn't need to hear it to no it had struck, but suddenly the scene changed again. This was the worst....his mother...he heard himself ask her for 2 kisses...heard her refuse.* You don't love me *he whispered, starting to cry as he had cried at that time of his mothers refusal...it was all he had wanted for a birthday present*
-
Christine wished there was some way she could help Erik, but she knew he was too weak to wake up. He needed rest. The best she could do was to keep whispering to him. Raoul had finally gotten to sleep, but he dreamt that he was at a wedding, but he couldn't see the faces of the bride and groom, they both were wearing masks.
-
*Now everything was starting to merge together...Javert...his mother...Sasha...Sasha dead...Sasha....dead.... he was starting to cry in his sleep, Sasha...Madelines dog...the closest thing he had ever had for a friend....dead*
-
Raoul watched the wedding, puzzled. He wondered why the bride and groom were wearing masks. When the priest said, "You may kiss the bride," Raoul watched as the couple removed their masks, then gasped in horror at what he saw. He saw the Phantom and Christine, but Christine looked different. Her face was disfigured, like the Phantom's. He woke up with a start.
-
*he saw in his dreams himself, younger though....at the age of 9...before the freak show...holding Sashas beaten form close to him, crying...and he was crying as well*
-
Christine looked at Raoul as he awoke suddenly. He was staring at her, seemed to be examining her face. "Are you alright?" she asked. Raoul caught himself, "Yes, fine. I'm alright."
-
*Erik finally escaped from his nightmares for now...until they returned...and they had grown worst....he was scared, and his mutterings came more frequently now*
-
Christine watched helplessly as Erik started muttering again. She wanted to wake him up so badly.
-
No...please...don't make me go back there *Erik whimpered in his sleep as in his dreams he was back at the Freak show....Javert was there...so was the crowd...*
-
Christine couldn't take it anymore. She gently shook Erik's shoulder, whispering to him to wake up.
-
*Erik woke up sharply, for a short time he was disorientated, he couldn't clearly remember where he was. Then slowly it came back to him....* Where's Cesar? *he asked, his voice quiet...the way his voice was so quiet showed just how weak he'd become*
-
"Shh," said Christine, "Just relax. Your horse is following us, like I asked him to, although he probably would have followed even if I hadn't." Raoul looked up when Erik awoke, thne turned back to the window.
-
*Erik gave a slight smile, yes...Cesar would always follow him.* Good old Cesar *he whispered, more to himself then anyone else.*
-
Christine smiled, then checked out the window to make sure Cesar was still there. He was. "Do you feel any better?" she asked Erik.
-
A bit *he said quietly, though that was a slight lie. He was feeling crap, but he didn't want Christine to worry about him.*
-
(Where exactly are they going? I kinda randomly put Roaul and Christine in a carriage)
Christine nodded and sat back, but kept her hand on Erik's, in case he needed comforted again. That was some nightmare he must have had, she thought. Raoul wanted to go over to Christine and take her hand off the Phantom's. He thought he was losing her again.
-
(Um...what besides AWAY from the Opera House....in the story I based it off a bit a remote village and the Vimcotes house ;) Raouls family home...well Mansion)
*Erik was starting to lose some of his wariness as the intense details of his nightmare slowly fading away, but with his arch rival so close he couldn't afford to relax totally*
-
Raoul finally decided to speak up. "Do you think you'll be strong enough to travel in a day or so?" he asked, being polite but making his point perfectly clear. He wanted Erik out, and as far away from Christine as possible. Christine sent Raoul a slight scowl.
-
*Erik conciously bit back a sarcastic retort. This wasn't his domain, it was only due to Christine, more then the Vimcote, that he hadn't been left to die.* Most likely yes, Vimcote *Erik replied, keeping the barest semblence of politeness in his voice*
-
"Well, that's a relief." said Raoul, using it as a half insult. He ignored Christine's glare, "Where do you think you'll go?" he added. "Raoul!" Christine hissed sharply.
-
Who knows, *Erik replied* why are you so concerned, Vimcote? *Erik chose to ignore the insult though deep down he was annoyed, but he was not going to even try and attack Raoul.*
-
"Oh, no reason," Raoul answered casually, not even making eye contact with Erik, "Just wondering." He was proud of his new triumph over this man who was trying to take away Christine. Erik didn't deserve her. Christine openly glared at Raoul, who was making a fool out of Erik.
-
*Erik bit back again another of his more sarcastic retorts.* Most of us wonder about others intentions at some point, Vimcote *'I just wonder what your's are' he tagged on mentally*
-
There was a slight pause. "Sometimes it's just mere curiosity, no harm meant." said Raoul, 'Except for right now,' he added, 'one way or another, I'll make sure you never see Christine again.' "Raoul, stop!" pleaded Christine, but Raoul ignored her.
-
*Erik arched an eyebrow* Really now, Vimcote...and how can you stop her dreaming then? *He muttered softly.*
-
Raoul gave Erik a sharp look, but said nothing. "You would be wise to stay away from Christine. Far away." he said darkly. "Oh would you please stop talking about me as if I'm not here?" Christine said.
-
I apologise, Mademoiselle Daae *again there was utter politeness and sincerity in Eriks tone.* And naturally, Vimcote, I was just saying...
-
"Saying what?" asked Raoul smartly, "Please Monsieur, continue." Christine glowered, but she knew there was no way she could convince Raoul to stop attacking Erik.
-
Well Vimcote, if you had been listening, I commented only that how can you stop her dreaming of me. Even if I stay far away from Mademoiselle Daae, you can't control her dreams, no one can. *Erik replied, calm and polite. Mentally he allowed himself a slight smirk, as yet the Vimcote and him were at an even in this battle of words*
-
Raoul was stuck. Erik had him backed up into a corner, but Raoul refused to admit Erik was right. "What you say may be true," he said slowly, "however, the farther you and she are apart from each other, the safer she'll be. Wouldn't want you taking her again now would we?" Christine couldn't stand it, she had to defend Erik somehow. "He didn't take me!" she blurted, "I went with him! Every time he wanted me to go somewhere with him, I agreed to follow!"
-
In no way did I ever force Christine to come with me, she came of her own free will *there was a quiet snarl in Eriks voice* Vimcote *he added, almost as an afterthought*
-
Raoul was too shocked to say anything. He had never heard this story before. He had always assumed things. He quickly covered his shock with anger. 'They are lying.' he forced himself to think, 'Christine just wants to protect her precious Phantom!'
-
*Erik regarded Raoul, quietly, making no further comment until the Vimcote said something worth retorting to*
-
Raoul couldn't think of anything to say. He had to think of something, and quick. Anything to keep the fight going. To Christine, the tension in the carriage was suffocating. The two men hated each other, and it was because of her. 'Oh Father, why are you putting me through this?' she asked to herself.
-
*Erik came to the conclusion he would hold his tongue. If the Vimcote could think of nothing better to do then just try and keep an old fight going he would not stoop to the Vimcotes level and give him the thrill of hearing Eriks retorts*
-
Raoul opened his mouth as if to say something, but quickly closed it and stared out the window, obviously pouting.
-
*'child' Erik thought mentally to himself. 'Most people think I'M meant to be a child, at least I have an excuse..really' Erik continued in that thought, he was starting to feel sleepy again, but he didn't want to sleep..didn't want to risk having those nightmares again*
-
As a silence lulled through the carriage, Christine felt a bit awkward. She kept folding and unfolding her hands in her lap.
-
*Erik was getting so tired, but he was fighting it. He'd rather stay awake and face the Vimcotes snide comments then sleep and face those dreadful nightmares again and that trapped feeling*
-
Christine had unknowingly kept her hand on Erik's arm, and suddenly felt herself slipping her hand into his.
-
*Erik glanced down slightly and gave a slight smile. He doubted the Vimcote would approve, but ah well. Christine had done that of her own choice.*
-
Raoul didn't notice (of course! :P) but he watched Erik suspiciously as he smiled, wondering if this man knew something he didn't.
-
(LOL! SILLY RAOUL)
*Erik could feel the sleep threatening to overwhelm him, but still he fought it, the best he could. He couldn't face those nightmares, that feeling of trapped helplesness again.*
-
Christine spoke softly to Erik. "You should try to sleep again. If you have nightmares again, try to wake yourself up, or think of something that might make them go away." she said.
-
*Erik nodded, he knew though that as long as he felt trapped and weak and helpless the nightmares would come. Slowly he drifted off to sleep.*
-
Christine sighed quietly, hoping that this time Erik would have a more peaceful sleep. "You know Raoul, you really should be kinder to him! He doesn't deserve half of the evil things you said to him! Or any of them, for that matter!" She carefully untwined her and Erik's fingers and let him sleep.
-
*Erik didn't stir, his sleep for now deep enough that he wouldn't get disturbed by his dreams. His subconcious mind was barely awake and his normally sharper concious mind was asleep.*
-
Raoul didn't answer. He stared out the window looking serious. How could she defend that man? He'd tried to kill him twice already! Then he noticed Christine letting go of Erik's hand. Raoul was disgusted, he turned and glared out the window again.
-
(CHILD!)
*Erik was safe from his dreams as long as he kept his sleep deep, where his subconcious mind would be barely awake to really feel anything.*
-
(duh! lol)
Raoul thought, 'Why can't we just make him leave right now? It would make things a whole lot easier, but no! Christine wouldn't allow it!'
-
(BABY!!)
*Erik muttered something under his breath as he partially slipped from his secure dark dreamless sleep*
-
(LOL)
Christine looked at Erik in conern, hoping he wasn't having more nightmares...he'd had enough of those.
-
*Erik just managed to get himself back to almost unconciousness where neither his concious or subconcious mind were active enough to feel anything, where he was safe from his nightmares*
-
Christine allowed herself to fall asleep as well, leaning her head against Erik's shoulder. Raoul saw his opportunity to get Christine away from Erik. So when he was sure they both were asleep, Raoul went over and carried Christine to his side of the carriage, making a point to elbow Erik sharply in the arm where he was stabbed.
-
*Erik gave a soft whimper as he was roused out of the deeper dreamless sleep to that less secure lighter sleep. There his nightmares caught up with him, worst then last time, a lot worst*
-
Christine stirred slightly as she felt herself being drawn away from something. She unconciously felt around for Erik's hand, and felt someone take hers. Raoul had seen Christine feel for Erik's hand to hold, so he took hers, hoping she wouldn't notice the difference.
-
*Erik cried out in his sleep, scared. He was starting to feel trapped again, he gave a harsh cough. He couldn't wake up...he felt like he was burning....burning in his own music*
-
Christine's eyes opened suddenly when Erik cried out. Suddenly she wasn't next to him anymore. She gave Raoul a sharp look before rushing over to Erik. She felt his forehead, careful not to touch his mask. He was quite warm.
-
*Erik cried out again, he longed so much to be awake, he was trying desperatly to wake up but he couldn't. All around him were flames...one by one the sheets of his music were fallling into them. He felt himself being pushed towards the flames. All he could feel was heat, burning his music, burning him*
-
Christine gently shook Erik whispering to him. "Wake up, Erik! Please! Wake up!" She pulled off his jacket, trying to cool him off. "Raoul stop the carriage!" she said. Raoul rolled his eyes, but did as he was asked. Christine continued to try and get Erik to wake up.
-
*Suddenly everything changed...he was walking through endless corridors...no through the catacombs. All he knew was he had to get out. He could hear someone calling his name...no not someone....Christine... he had to find Christine...yet suddenly everything changed...something...no not something someone was hunting him. It was the Vimcote...*
-
Raoul sighed. "Why do we need to stop for him anyway?" he asked smartly. "Raoul he's running a fever! Have some consideration for once in your life!" Christine almost shouted. She turned back to Erik. "Erik, please. Wake up, wake up!"
-
*Suddenly Erik felt himself falling, he must have tripped over something. Though what he didn't know. He turned himself on his back, saw the Vimcote advancing, Rapier drawn, saw the rapier come slicing down*Will you not have mercy on me, Vimcote? *Erik cried out, not aware he'd spoken those words.*
-
Raoul suddenly turned as Erik said his name in a plea for mercy, forgetting that he was only saying it in a dream. Raoul felt the pit in his stomach sink. This man was sick, and he was doing nothing about it. Moving Christine out of the way, he took Erik into his arms and pulled him out of the carriage, laying him on the cool, damp grass at the roadside. Christine was a bit shocked. Raoul had done something out of the ordinary, which he does not do too often.
-
*Cesar was so suprised he dropped Eriks rapier he had been carefully carrying, placing his head on one side and giving a confused, suprised and shocked snort. Slowly he approached Erik, giving one of his quieter, worried whickers. He was worried about Erik, very worried, something wasn't right*
-
Christine, still stunned, ran out of the carriage as well and fell to her knees at Erik's side. She heard the low thud and looked up at Cesar, who had dropped Erik's rapier. "He's sick." she explained quickly.
-
*Cesar snorted, his expression asking "will he be okay?"*
*Erik cried out again, almost waking up before being dragged back down into his dreams, unable to escape them.*
-
"I don't know." Christine whispered, looking worriedly at Erik as he cried out again. She had his head under her arm, trying to get him to wake up still."
-
*Cesar whickered, lieing down near Erik, gently nudging him, ever so gentle not wanting to hurt his rider.*
*Erik woke up, slowly, feeling totally ill, and totally disorientated. He'd got lost in his own labryinth...he never got lost.* Christine....*he whispered, and his voice was hoarse and cracked.*
-
"Shh, I'm here." Christine said to Erik. Turning to Raoul, she asked, "Do we have any water?" Raoul ran back to the carriage, but returned empty-handed. "No," he answered, "There isn't any."
-
(LOL! Clever Raoul...)
*Cesar snorted, he knew where water was, lots of it...and it was clean water...drinkable water. There was some in the saddlebags that he carried, but no way was he going to let Raoul anywhere near him.*
*Erik coughed, he had a pounding headache and he just felt totally ill. He doubted he could have killed even the worst criminal today.*
-
Christine looked at Cesar. He obviously knew something she and Raoul didn't.
-
*Cesar snorted again, regarding Christine before turning to look at his saddlebags and back at Christine again*
*Erik fell into a harsh fit of coughing that left him weaker then before.*
-
Christine frowned, a bit puzzled at what Cesar was trying to tell her. Something about his saddle, she figured. She looked at Erik and helped him sit up as he coughed. Raoul watched Cesar, knowing that if he dared approach the horse, he might end up like those horse thieves.
-
(LOL! Too damn right!)
*Cesar snorted, giving the horse equivalent of rolling his eyes before trying to bite at one of the straps holding one of the saddlebags shut and looking back at Christine again.*
-
Raoul didn't want to try and see what the horse wanted, he liked his ears where they were at the time. "Christine, there's something about his saddle that he wants you to know about." Christine looked at Erik. She hated to leave him, but she walked over to Cesar and undid the straps to his saddlebag.
-
*Cesar snorted, he knew in one of them Erik had packed a) spare shirts, b) some food, c) some water. It was the water he was most concerned about, he didn't know which saddlebag Erik had placed it in*
-
Christine opened the first bag, no good. It was some extra clothes. Opening the second, she let out a sigh of relief. Water! She pulled out the canteen and thanking Cesar, rushed back to Erik. She had him sit up again and take a sip of the water. "Drink slowly," she told Erik.
-
*Erik did as he was told, too weak to argue. He was starting to feel tired again but he didn't want to sleep, sleep to him now was bad. He couldn't face the nightmares he knew would come, yet his whole being was yearning for sleep.*
-
Christine felt like a mother caring for a sick child. "That's good," she whispered, helping Erik drink. Raoul watched, warily keeping an eye on the horse.
-
*Cesar was watching Raoul as well, he gave a snort of amusement at Raouls wariness.*
*Erik was feeling too weak to do anything but to do as he was told. He could barely sit up without Christines help.*
-
(Raoul's afraid of the horsie! lol)
Christine felt Erik's forehead again, his fever was breaking, if only slightly. She kept her arm under his head and gave him water from time to time, just letting him rest instead of immediately getting him back to the carriage.
-
(I had a really funny idea. Raoul sat there watching Cesar. Cesar lieing near Erik watching Raoul. Erik pretty much too weak to do anything. Christine fussing over Erik :P )
*Erik couldn't remember ever feeling so weak and tired. But he knew he couldn't sleep, his own fear would stop him.*
-
(LOL. I think Erik needs caffeine. That might make him feel better. It works for me!)
Christine looked down at Erik. "How do you feel? Any better?" she asked, wondering if he was strong enough yet to get back into the carriage.
-
(LOL!)
Tired...weak *Erik replied, not feeling up to stringing words together to form sentances*
-
"I'd imagine so." said Christine, "You look better though. Your fever's breaking." Raoul didn't have anything to add with Cesar being so close. If the horse would have been in the carriage earlier, Raoul may have lost both ears.
-
*Erik gave a slight smile. 'I thought I always looked bad' he thought.*
*Cesar kept his gaze fixed on Raoul, listening to what his rider was saying though.*
-
Christine smiled back. "We'll be nearing Raoul's home soon," she said, "There you can have a decent rest." Raoul gave a look, wondering when he had agreed to all this, but said nothing, and slowly inched further away from the horse.
-
*Bert was watching from the trees and sighed. It was now or never. Slowly, half stumbling he made his way from the trees.*
*Cesar turned his head to look at Bert, standing up with one of his angry snorts, moving into a canter, lowering his head and headbutting Bert, hard before spinning round and kicking Bert hard before he had chance to recover.*
*Bert went flying into a tree and made no further move, dead.*
*Cesar snorted before trotting back over to where Erik were laid and lieing back down next to him*
-
Both Christine and Raoul were suprised and frightened by this sudden attack. Christine remembered that man as one of the few who had tried to steal Cesar. She stared for a moment, then turned back to Erik, still a bit startled. "That horse of yours is very protective!" she said. Raoul turned from Cesar to the dead body, then back again. He slowly moved further away. Christine looked puzzled at Raoul, but then rolled her eyes and shook her head slowly.
-
I know *Erik said quietly, giving a slight cough.*
-
Christine handed Erik the water and helped him sit up. "You want to try and stand up yet?" she asked, not wanting to push Erik if he's still to weak.
-
*Erik was slowly finding his strength. He nodded his thanks as he took the water, taking a small drink of it.* Give me a few minutes *he said softly, his voice was still slightly hoarse*
-
Christine nodded. "I don't want to rush you," she assured.
-
*After a few minutes Erik felt strong enough to stand up, with some help. Cesar as always was nearby, watching Erik and Raoul*
-
Christine let Erik lean on her slightly as he slowly stood. "Take your time," she said. Raoul went to help so Christine wouldn't have to do it all, but came up slowly, watching Cesar watch his every move.
-
*Cesar was watching Raoul suspiciously but made no move to attack. He moved over to where he'd dropped Eriks rapier and carefully picked it up, still watching Raoul*
-
(Hehe protective horse with a weapon!)
Christine got in the carriage first, then turned around and helped Erik in. Raoul got in last. 'In case he falls backward,' he told himself firmly.
-
*Even that movement to the carriage had left Erik weak. Slowly he sat down on one of the seats, hating his own weakness.*
-
Christine reluctantly sat next to Raoul, but it gave Erik more room to lie down and regain his strength. She could see that it killed him to be so weak and so far away from the opera house.
-
(Eriks being his usual cute self :P...LOL....*is all hyper and bouncy now*)
*Slowly Erik laid down, knowing without rest, and sleep, he'd be unable to regain his strength, yet he knew if he couldn't get to the sleep where he was almost unconcious his sleep would be plagued by nightmares*
-
Raoul forced himself not to make some comment about where Christine sat, although it was tempting. He knew Erik was tired. So was he.
-
*Despite Eriks best efforts not to fall asleep eventually sleep took him, despite his fighting against it. Fortuntaly it was deep enough that he escaped his nightmares.*
-
Christine let out a soft sigh of relief when Erik fell asleep. He needed it badly. She just hoped he didn't have more nightmares.
-
*Erik gave a slight cough in his sleep but didn't stir.*
-
(should we move this forward a bit? perhaps to when the carriage pulls up to Raoul's mansion? :-\)
-
(Yea because I doubt Eriks gonna wake up anytime soon...He's just a bit exhausted)
-
(lol only a little)
The carriage pulled up to Raoul's mansion. "How are we going to get him inside?" asked Raoul, referring to Erik. "We'll have to wake him up, I guess." Christine answered. She didn't want to wake Erik.
-
(LOL)
*Erik gave another slight cough in his sleep, he wasn't going to wake up unless woken, not now he'd actually got to his normal dreamless state*
-
Christien went over to Erik and gently shook him, whispering for him to wake up.
-
*Erik slowly woke up, not really wanting to. He felt a bit better for his long rest, though he still wasn't feeling at his best*
-
"Erik," Christine whispered, "We've stopped. You'll have to get out and you can go back to sleep in a bed if you want to go back to sleep."
-
*ERik nodded, to be honest he didn't feel up to doing much more then sleeping*
-
"Do you need any help?" asked Christine. Raoul waited impatiently outside the carriage.
-
*Erik nodded, slowly sitting up, not feeling up to getting all the way to a room with a bed from the carriage.*
-
Christine held her hand out to Erik for him to take.
-
*Erik gently took Christines hand, slowly standing up, testing how much weight he could take himself.*
-
Christine slightly trembled at Erik's touch. Not out of fear, but of recognition. The last time they had held hands like this was months ago, when she had taken Erik's hand as he lured her down to his lair. Christine quickly shook the flashback out of her mind and gently helped Erik out of the carriage.
(I might not have a chance to get online tomorrow, well, today for you. I'm leaving Friday evening and I have to pack as of yet so if I do get a chance to be online, it'll be brief. I should be online on Monday, since I won't get back until Sunday which is my dad's birthday and father's day so yea. lol I'll talk to you soon and I'll miss ya! The same goes for Years Later but I'll post it up there too. If I don't get a chance to talk to you, tell OG I said "Hey")
-
*Erik was glad of Christines help. He glanced at Cesar. Cesar gave a soft snort, understanding the meaning of that look. He would try not to make havoc for whoever came to tend to him.*
-
Christine looked at Erik, hoping he didn't notice her with a dazed look on her face as she rmembered the past. She helped him the the door, still holding his hand.
-
*Erik could feel the little strength he'd regained during his long sleep starting to fade. He didn't noticed that Christine appeared dazed*
-
Raoul forced himself to ignore the fact that Erik and Christine were holding hands, even though he knew she was just helping. He made himself turn away. Christine rubbed at her eyes, making it look like she had something stuck in it, but she really was wiping away tears that suddenly appeared.
-
*Erik gave a slight cough, not wanting to seem weak*
-
Raoul opened the door to his mansion and Christine patiently led Erik inside.
-
*Erik was suprised...he had never known a building that would get him lost as easily as this*
-
Raoul, rather reluctantly, led Christine and Erik up the stairs and to a door. "This is," he started softly, then cleared his throat, "This is a guest bedroom. You can stay here until you feel stronger." He didn't look at Erik, he just opened the door and watched as Christine walked in alongside Erik.
-
*Erik nodded. He knew Raoul hated him, knew Raoul would much rather he were't there*
-
Christine walked Erik over to his bed. "You just rest. I'll be close by." she said softly, "Call if you need anything."
-
*Erik nodded, sitting down. It had been a while since he'd had such luxuary of a proper bed. Slowly he took off his medium length riding boots, he still remembered proper formalities*
-
Raoul had stood at the door watching for a moment, wanting to get Christine away from Erik, wanting to call to her and get her out of the room, but he hadn't. All he did was hang his head and sigh softly, then turned and left, waving them off.
-
*Erik gave a slight yawn, trying to hide it so as not to be rude*
-
"I'll leave you be, if you wish." Christine said softly. She didn't want to leave him, not just yet. But she began walking towards the door, her head bowed.
-
*Erik didn't want Christine to go, but he was so tired* don't go...I don't want to be alone *he whispered softly*
-
Christine turned. She smiled but her eyes sparkled with tears, and she walked back to Erik.
-
*Erik looked up at Christine. He wondered if he was hurting her*
-
Christine walked up to Erik. When she was standing right in front of him, she closed her eyes and her tears fell. "I'm here." she whispered.
-
*Erik gently pulled Christine so she was sat near to him, gently wiping away the tears. He loved her so much, he just wanted her to be happy*
-
Christine let her tears fall, and she put herhead on Erik's shoulder. "I just don't know what to do." she said through her tears, "I'm so torn."
-
*Erik wasn't good at being comforting, it wasn't really his forte, but he tried for Christine. He gently stroked her back, wishing he could take all of Christines pain on him, he was used to pain*
-
Christine sat next to Erik for a while, just crying quietly, feeling him stroke her back. It felt good, she didn't want him to stop. "Oh Erik, I just don't know what to do." she said again.
-
*Erik frowned* What do you mean? *he asked quietly*
-
Christine looked up at Erik, tears streaked across her face. "I'm so torn," she said, "You're my Angel, I love you. But," she looked at the floor, "I love Raoul too."
-
*Erik bit back his more naturally sarcastic retort* and you can't decide which to choose *he said softly*
-
Christine kept her head down, but she nodded. "I wish I didn't have to. I saw the look on your face when Raoul and I left, it hurt me than it probably did you. I don't want to see that again on either of your faces." she admitted, "Why me?"
-
I doubt anyone knows that *Erik said softly. He gently hugged Christine, unsure how she'd react*
-
Christine returned Erik's hug with her own, and she still cried. Being in Erik's arms felt so good.
-
*Erik could feel the slight shudder as Christine kept crying. He thought of saying "it will be okay" but he knew that was a lie, and he couldn't lie to Christine*
-
Christine leaned into Erik's embrace, so she was right against his body. As she cried, she whispered very softly, "Oh Angel..."
-
*Erik just held Christine close to him, wishing he was better at being comforting* Its okay, I'm here..I'll keep you safe *he said softly*
-
"I know, I know." said Christine, "I just don't want to hurt you again, or Raoul. I just don't know."
-
*Erik nodded, he doubted he could cope with the hurt of losing Christine again* I'm trying so hard to change *he said softly*
-
Christine looked up at Erik, "Why? Why should you change?" she asked, frowning slightly out of puzzlement.
-
Do you think I like killing? *Erik said quietly*
-
Christine gave a small "Oh," and looked down at the floor.
-
I hate it when I kill, apart of me loathes it...but I get so angry...I can't control my temper. I try so hard not to though..*Erik said*
-
"Oh Erik," said Christine, embracing Erik without thinking, "Oh I know, I know. Erik please forgive me. You've shown me more than I deserved, and here I am crying in your arms because I can't make a decision."
-
All of us need someone to turn to, to share their worries. I had no one, but you don't deserve no one. *Erik said quietly*
-
"But I know that neither of you want to be just the person I turn to. Both of you want to be more than that. Sometimes I think things would just be better if I weren't around." Christine answered.
-
You already have Raoul, it would be pointless for me to try and earn your love. I do not mind listening to your worries *ERik said softly*
-
Christine looked into Erik's eyes. "But...at the opera house..." she started. She couldn't think of the right words to say.
-
I will admit now.. I loved you then, and .. I still do love you, not as a famous singer, or as a pretty face... I love you for who you are... *Erik said quietly*
-
"I love you too Erik." Christine replied softly, "You're my Angel, I've loved you since I was a little girl."
-
*Erik was suprised...Christine...loved him.* When I heard what had been promised by your father...I didn't want you to lose faith in what he'd said....for centuries I had been known only as the Angel of Death, or the Angel of Despair. *Erik whispered*
-
"But you're not. You're the Angel of Music." Christine answered, hoping she didn't sound too childish. She gave a small, soft laugh. "When I was little I hung on every word my father said. I was so excited when he told me that I would be visited by an angel."
-
*Erik smiled* Most view me as the Angel of Death...I guess its because if my anger forces me, I kill...but I hate myself for it. Every death I caused I hated myself for it.
-
Christine looked at the floor, not sure what to say.
-
*Erik sighed* I guess all thats in the past though. *He said quietly*
-
Christine nodded. "Hopefully." she said quietly.
Raoul sat in his study, bored.
-
*Erik fell silent, trying to quash down the overwhelming feeling of insecurity.*
*Cesar gave a quiet snort, carefully placing Eriks rapier on the ground where he could watch it*
-
Christine spoke hesitantly, wanting to break the silence. "You can, er, stay here for as long as you like." she said, "Do you know if there's anywhere you can go?" She could have kicked herself. That's exactly what Raoul had asked earlier.
Raoul looked out the window. Erik's horse was just standing there, staring at the sword he'd been carrying. "If that horse is so smart," he muttered to himself, "then why doesn't it just lead itself to the stables?" He stood up, sighing. "Well, I guess I'll have to get him myself, and hope I can stay in one piece in the process!"
-
*Erik shrugged* There is really no where for me to go, other then wonder from place to place
-
"Well," answered Christine, "like I said, you can stay here as long as you want." She almost laughed at the thought of what Raoul would say if he'd heard that.
Raoul went outside and walked, very carefully, toward Cesar.
-
*Erik smiled.* I guess the Vimcote wouldn't approve *he said softly*
*Cesar snorted, watching Raoul but not pinning his ears back*
-
Christine sighed. "No, I guess not." she said softly, "But still, I say you can stay, and Raoul will just have to deal with it. I'll reason with him when the time comes."
Raoul slowly bent down to pick up the rapier, watching Cesar and making sure the horse could see everything he was doing.
-
*Cesar still didn't move to nibble Raouls ears. He was obeying Eriks instructions not to create havoc for who ever came to deal with him.*
*Erik smiled slightly* If he'll see reason.
-
Raoul slowly stood back up. "I, uh, er, follow me to the s-stables." he stammered, feeling quite silly talking to a horse.
"He should," said Christine, trying not to sound stuck up, "He'll listen to me, if he wants my approval of him."
-
*Cesar gave a snort that sound suspiciously like a laugh but nodded his head, showing 'yes he would follow Raoul to the stables'*
-
Raoul gave Cesar a look that asked, "Are you laughing at me?" but he said nothing, just sighed and began walking to the stables.
-
*Cesar gave a cheeky nicker as if to say "yep" following Raoul to the stables, giving him a gentle nudge with his head as if to say "hurry up".*
-
Raoul, startled, jumped and sped up a bit. Luckily, the stables were close.
-
*Cesar nickered as if to say 'hehe'*
-
Finally reaching the stables, Raoul quickly opened the door of the first empty stall he came to.
-
*Cesar trotted into the stall and turned himself round and gave another cheeky snort*
-
Raoul called over a stable boy to see to Cesar, being to nervous to do it himself.
-
*Cesar gave another snort that sounded like a laugh at Raoul*
-
Raoul gave Cesar a look, and kept his distance as the stable boy went into the stall to unsaddle Cesar. Raoul wondered what was in all those saddlebags that made them so full.
-
*Cesar watched the stable boy, not making any move to nip the stable boy, just watching him*
-
Seeing that the Vicomte was nervous around this horse, the stable boy carefully and warily removed the saddle and bridle, and put fresh food in the stall for him.
-
*Cesar was still watching the stable boy, ever so often looking at Raoul. He wouldn't eat until he knew that the saddlebags would be left where HE could see them*
-
The stable boy laid the saddlebags down just outside Cesar's stall, and left. Raoul felt tempted to look through the saddlebags.
-
*Cesar gave a warning snort. Watching Raoul, ears ready to be pinned back against his skull. He stamped his near forehoof on the ground*
-
Raoul gave a wicked grin to Cesar and began to tempt the horse to try and bite him. Slowly, he reached toward the saddlebags, ready to quickly pull his hand away.
-
*Cesar lunged at Raouls ears instead, his own ears pinned back against his skull*
-
Raoul gave a loud yelp and ducked, his hands covering his head. The sudden movement made Raoul, already low to the ground, fall over and knock his head on the ground.
-
*Cesar gave a whinny that sounded suspiciously like a laugh, enjoying tormenting Raoul*
-
Raoul scowled at Cesar. He knew he should leave, but he really wanted to see the contents of those bags. Going lower this time, he tensed himself and tried to reach again.
-
*Cesar lunged at Raoul again, ears pinned back against his skull, going to bite Raoul on the backside*
-
Raoul yelped again, and instantaneously propelled himself forward, trying to protect his backside. He wasn't watching, however, and ran smack into the wall of Cesar's stall.
-
*Cesar gave a neigh that sounded like a laugh*
-
Raoul gave Cesar another look, and before the horse could react, Raoul had grabbed the saddlebags and taken them within Cesar's sight, but out of his reach. Raoul gave Cesar a triumphant look.
-
*Cesar set about attacking the stall door*
-
Raoul was startled by Cesar's sudden agressiveness. He dropped the saddlebags and stood up quickly, giving them a kick for good measure before quickly exiting the stables.
-
*Cesar gave a snort, amused. He knew he hadn't done THAT much damage as if he had he'd have been outta the stable*
-
Raoul went back inside, feeling foolish of being scared away by a horse. He went immediately to his study, passing the room where Erik and Christine where were. He wanted to go in and see if Christine was still in there, but thought against it.
-
*Erik gave another slight cough but he gave a slight smile* I guess that would be the wisest thing for the Vimcote to do *he said softly*
-
Christine looked at the floor, then at the door as she heard Raoul walk by. She heard him hesitate, then walk on. She didn't feel bad, but he'd probably lost all hope at getting her back by now.
-
*Erik couldn't think of anything to say*
-
Christine was having the same trouble, and a silence hung about the room. "Well, um, you should probably get some, er rest." she said awkwardly, "I'll stay here for a while, then I'll be close by if you need anything."
-
*Erik nodded slowly lieing down, almost immediatly falling to sleep*
-
Christine looked at Erik, and sat by him for a while. Once she was sure he was asleep, she did something she knew she may regret later. She didn't want him to be uncomfortable in sleep, so quickly and gently, she took off Erik's tired mask and laid it on the table at the bedside. She quickly left the bedroom in case he should wake up, but she stayed close.
-
(Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!)
*Erik didn't wake up, staying sound asleep, absolutly exhausted*
-
Christine wandered back and forth in the corridors, lacking anything else to do. She didn't want to go in and see Raoul, not just yet.
-
*Erik was too deep asleep to stir even if someone had hit him across the face, or had tried to kill him*
*Cesar dozed off, tired as well*
-
Raoul listened to Christine pace through the hallways, wishing she would calm down and get some rest herself.
-
(OOC: Can't really post much, fast forward to later?)
-
(sounds good to me)
-
*Erik muttered something in his sleep as he started to fall out of his deep dreamless sleep*
-
Christine was at the other end of the hallway, and didn't hear Erik.
-
*Erik tried to wake up, he couldn't, he was too tired*
-
Christine slowly made her way to Erik's end of the hallway.
-
*Erik gave a soft whimper*
-
Christine heard Erik, but was afraid to go inside his room. She opened the door a little bit. "Erik? Are you awake?"
-
*Erik made no response, trapped in his dreams*
-
Christine cautiously entered the bedroom, trying to ignore the mask that she'd laid on the table.
-
*Erik gave another soft whimper*
-
Christine knelt by the bedside, watching Erik and hpoping he wasn't having more nightmares.
-
*Erik calmed down slightly as if he'd sensed Christines presence even in his sleep*
-
(Awww!)
Christine placed her hand on Erik's arm gently.
-
*Erik felt Christines hand on his arm but he didn't stir, falling to a deeper sleep*
-
Christine gave Erik's arm a gentle squeeze before standing up to leave.
-
*Erik smiled slightly in his sleep at Christines gentle squeeze*
-
Christine smiled back as though Erik had smiled at her, and not in his sleep. She walked out of the room and softly shut the door behind her.
Raoul finally left his study and turned to see Christine shutting Erik's door. He walked up to her and said "You should get some rest as well."
"I know," Christine replied, turning to look at Erik's door, "But he might need me."
Raoul answered, "But you should look after yourself too, not just him."
-
*Cesar was still asleep*
-
Christine was about to protest, but she said nothing. She sighed, then opened the door to another bedroom and walked inside. Raoul frowned slightly, then walked back outside and to the stables. Those saddlebags would continue bugging him until he found out what was inside.
-
*Cesar was still asleep, as was Erik*
-
Christine fell into a fitful sleep, often thinking Erik was calling to her and waking up, but he wasn't.
Raoul quietly snuck into the stables and to the place where he'd dropped the bags. Some half-asleep horses stuck their heads out of the stalls curiously to see who was waking them up.
-
*Cesar half woke up slightly and gave a soft snort*
-
Raoul looked into Cesar's stall quickly to make sure the horse wasn't awake enough to snap at him.
-
*Cesar was starting to fall back to sleep*
-
Satisfied, Raoul crept over to the bags and attempted to lift them up, but something in one of them was hitting another and they were making noises. Cursing under his breath, he quickly dropped the bags and looked over at Cesar.
-
*Cesar gave a sleepy snort*
-
Raoul gave a sigh of relief, and started to carry the bags outside.
-
*Cesar still didn't wake up*
-
Raoul quietly carried the bags through the house, trying to get past Erik's room and Christine's room without making too much noise. No one would bother him in his study. Suddenly, Christine walked out of her room. She saw Raoul, and said, "I couldn't sleep." Then she noticed the saddlebags, "Where did you get those?" she asked, then she recognised them. "Raoul, are those Erik's?" Raoul couldn't answer, he was caught. "Raoul, why did you take those? Put them back!"
-
*Erik gave a soft mutter again*
-
Christine looked at Erik's door, then back at Raoul. "Put them back! Before he wakes up!" she said sharply. Raoul gave a sort of pout, but did not argue and trudged back to the stables. Chiristine gave Raoul a look, and watched him like a hawk as he made his way back to the stables.
-
*As Raoul neared Cesars stall door Cesar sharply lunged out, aiming to nip Raoul on the backside*
-
Raoul gave a shriek and leapt forward a bit, making Cesar just barely miss his backside. (haha what a girl!) He droped the saddle bags and pulled a face at Cesar.
-
*Cesar neighed again before lungeing forward to nip Raoul again*
-
Raoul backed up a bit into the opposite stall, waking up another horse who then snapped at him. Raoul turned around and backed away from the horse.
-
*Cesar snorted, going to nip Raoul again*
-
Raoul didn't hear Cesar, still paying attention to the horse he'd woken up and backing up slowly toward Cesar.
-
*Cesar bided his time, once Raoul came in range he lunged forward to nip him on the backside*
-
Raoul gave a shriek of pain and jumped into the air with suprise. He'd forgotten about Cesar. He turned to the horse and pulled a face. "I gave you the bags back, what more do you want?!" he cried.
-
*Cesar pulled a face back and gave a snort*
-
Raoul saw Cesar's game and pulled another face. "That's not a good answer!" he replied to Cesar's snort.
-
*Cesar pulled another face snorting again*
-
Raoul raised an eyebrow and pulled yet another face. "I don't know what you people want from me." he said, shaking his head.
-
*Cesar snorted as if to say 'I'm not a person' before he headbutted Raoul*
-
Raoul gave Cesar a look that answered, "I meant people in general! Like you."
-
*Cesar nickered in amusement shaking his head*
-
Raoul scowled at Cesar and folded his arms across his chest.
-
*Cesar gave another amused snort, idly kicking at one of the stall walls*
-
"Don't be going and breaking down those walls." Raoul warned Cesar, pointing at him, even though he wasn't kicking that hard, "You've already kicked at them enough."
-
*Cesar pretended to try and bite Raouls finger snorting*
-
Raoul quickly pulled his finger away and gave Cesar a look.
-
*Cesar snorted again in amusement*
-
Raoul sighed and shook his head. "Horses." he said, before turning to leave the stables.
-
*Cesar purposefully gave a trump just then and then whinnied in amusement*
-
Raoul turned around and pulled a face at Cesar one last time before shutting the door and making his way back to the house.
-
*Cesar snorted before dozing off again*
*Erik whimpered in his sleep again*
-
Raoul headed up to his study, not sure when he wanted to go to bed himself.
Christine had gone back to bed, but was still constantly waking up. She sighed. She was too tired to do this. She needed sleep.
-
*Erik whimpered again*
-
Christine heard soft noises coming from Erik's bedroom. She stood up. "Well, so long as I'm awake, I should go see if he's okay." she said to herself. She softly left her bedroom and let herself into Erik's, shutting the door behind her.
-
*Erik gave a soft yelp, almost as if he'd been struck*
-
Christine jumped a little at Erik's yelp, but then quietly hurried to his side and put her hand on his arm, trying to comfort him.
-
*Erik calmed slightly at Christines touch*
-
Christine felt a sense of relief when she felt Erik relax. She was tired again, but didn't want to leave the room just yet. She pulled up a chair next to the bedside. Folding her arms on the edge of the bed, she put her head down and fell asleep.
-
*Erik was calm as long as Christine was near by, it was as if he could sense her presence in his sleep, and it calmed him.*
-
Christine slept soundly for once, although her position was a bit awkward. Raoul had gone in and checked on Christine, thinking she would be in her room. He almost panicked to find her bed empty and ran into Erik's room, to see them both asleep. Christine looked as though she had been watching him and fallen asleep, so he didn't bother her.
-
*Erik had stirred slightly as Raoul came in but fell back to his deep sleep once he left*
-
Christine opened her eyes slightly when she heard Roaul close the door after he left, but they closed themselves and she went back to sleep.
-
*Erik remained asleep now, calm, comforted it would seem by Christines presence*
-
Raoul yawned as he headed to his bedroom. He was going to go to sleep as well. A few minutes after Raoul had shut the bedroom door, a soft snoring sound could be heard from inside.
-
(fast forward to one of them waking up?)
-
(might as well. who's gonna wake up then?)
-
(as Eriks absolutly shattered probably not Erik)
-
(alright. Raoul then, since he doesn't really need sleep...what time will it be? morning?)
-
(Yea...Christine sorta can't move because if she leaves Eriks room he'll either end up waking up (and he's shattered) or he'll get caught in a nightmare)
-
(yea i figured)
Raoul woke slowly and sat up in bed. Looking out the window, he saw in a sort of suprise that it was morning already. Had he been up all night? How much sleep had he gotten? He shook his head and stood up to get dressed to take a walk.
-
*Cesar was awake and hungry, and showing it. He kicked one of the walls again*
-
Raoul quietly walked out of the house and absentmindedly strolled over to the stables, not knowing where he was going until he got there.
-
*Cesar kicked at one of the walls once more*
-
Roaul jumped at Cesar's kick. "You're still here?" he said loudly.
-
*Cesar snorted as if to say 'what do you expect?'*
-
Raoul gave Cesar a look, then cautiously peeked into Cesar's stall and pulled away before he could be snapped at. The horse had no food. Rolling his eyes, he went over and woke the stableboy and told him to get Cesar some food.
-
*Cesar gave another snort*
-
Raoul scowled and mimicked Cesar's snort. "You think you're so smart, don't you!" he said.
-
*Cesar nodded, then nickered as if to say 'I know I'm so smart, I don't just have to think that;*
-
(LOL)
The stable boy brought over fresh food and placed it in Cesar's stall. "There you are, O almighty horse." Raoul said sarcastically, bowing.
-
*Cesar kicked out at the door as he set to work eating*
-
Raoul gave Cesar a look before marching out of the stables. After that, he finished wandering around for a while and headed inside.
-
*In his dreams it was Point of No Return again, yet Erik frowned (dream Erik) he wasn't on stage. The chandelier started to fall...and it was falling towards* NO! CHRISTINE! *He couldn't shout properly as his throat was still hoarse, instead it was a loud whisper*
-
Christine dreamt she was in Erik's lair below the opera house. She couldn't find Erik, and the fire was somehow spreading slowly across the water towards her. She turned and looked for Raoul, and then she saw him, crumpled over, dead. She couldn't cry, no matter how hard she tried. Suddenly, someone clapped a hand over her mouth from behind her, and began pulling her away. She turned and saw Erik leading her, but he didn't look as he had before. He looked calm, like he did when she first saw him. So she went with him.
-
*Erik gave a soft whimper...why couldn't he move. Suddenly he felt someone hold him...the Vimcote. He heard the voice 'See what happens' he whispered. Erik shuddered*
-
Erik led Christine through a mirror, and suddenly picked up his pace. She couldn't catch up. Soon, she was alone in the dark.
-
*Erik coughed in his sleep feeling that he was trapped, forced to see Christine die and it was all his fault....all his fault*
-
Christine called for Erik several times, with no luck. Suddenly, she heard a shout and ran forward blindly to find who made it. She saw Erik, sprawed on the flor, unconcious, and Raoul stood over him seeming triumphant.
-
*'And now I think I will leave you to burn....or perhaps I should kill you...'the vimcote sneered 'perhaps I should kill you now, you'd stand no chance' he continued. Erik whimpered* no *he whispered*
-
Christine stood in shock and horror. "What have you done?" she murmured. Raoul looked up. He didn't say anything, he just gave her a sinister smile.
-
*'No' vimcote tormented before punching Erik in the back. Erik half slumped, half fell to the ground in agony.*
-
Christine rushed to Erik's side, trying franctically to wake him up, nothing worked. She started crying, and looked up at Raoul. He seemed to become furious suddenly, and drew a sword. Christine screamed, and woke up shouting.
-
*Vimcote laughed before he kicked Erik in the chest, in the stomach, Erik tried to get away but the pain was too great. He started to cry, and he was crying in reality as well without realising it*
-
Christine clapped a hand over her mouth to stifle her shout. She looked over at Erik once she was awake enough to remember where she was. He was crying. Carefully, she climbed onto the bed and sat next to him, gently wiping at his tears.
-
*Erik tried to get away but the pain was still too great. He heard the sound of the Vimcote drawing his rapier and shuddered as he felt the tip pressed against his throat*
-
Christine gently stroked Erik's hair. She didn't want to wake him up, he'd had a hard night.
-
*'One move....just one slight increase on the blade' the Vimcote taunted and now Erik could see his eyes they were cold and heartless...like his when he killed...he realised*
-
Christine soon fell asleep again, but she didn't dream.
-
*Erik was scared, it was as if the Vimcote had gained his heartless when it came to killing...and it frightened him, and it frightened him alot. He whimpered slightly as he felt the pressure increase, feeling the blade penetrate his skin* Please, no *Erik begged*
-
Christine woke again with a start. Erik wasn't getting any better. She sighed, but gently shook him, whispering for him to please wake up.
-
*Erik woke up with a start, just before the Vimcote had pushed the blade in, he was disorientated again for a while, his breathing coming rapid*
-
Christine put her hand on Erik's shoulder comfortingly and looked at him in a "sorry but i had to" way. "Ssh," she whispered, "it's alright, it's alright."
-
*Eriks breathing slowed* He tried to kill me *Erik whispered, remembering that heartless gaze, giving a slight shudder as he remembered it*
-
Christine frowned slightly, concerned. "Who?" she asked, relieved he hadn't noticed his mask was sitting on the table next to him yet.
-
the Vimcote...the chandelier was falling...it was going to hit you...I tried to move but I couldn't...he grabbed me from behind...and threatened me....he punched me in the back causing me to fall to the ground, I tried to get away but the pain was too great. He kicked me before he eventually drew his rapier and placed it at my throat...*Erik paused, but he knew he had to get it off his chest*his eyes...they were cold...heartless *he shuddered at the memory*
-
"It's alright, just a dream." Christine said, "You're safe. It was just a dream. I'm here, we're both fine."
-
*Erik nodded* his eyes...they were so like mine though *he whispered, unable to drive it out of his head*
-
Christine laid her head on Erik's shoulder (Like a certain someone I know! *cough* lol) and whispered, "It's alright. It's over."
-
(te he he he)
*Erik nodded, knowing Christine was right. He still couldn't shake off the fear though...he was so scared, even though he knew it was just a dream.*
-
( :P :D)
Christine looked at Erik. "Do you need anything? Could I get you something?" she asked.
-
*Erik looked at Christine and in his eyes was tiredness, he shook his head* you're here...that's all I need *Erik said softly*
-
(Awwwww!)
Christine smiled and hugged Erik gently, her heart fluttering. "And I'll stay for as long as you like." she whispered in his ear.
-
*Erik gave a slight smile, gently hugging Christine back. He started to cry slightly as his self composure and control broke down. He couldn't believe it*
-
Christine heard Erik crying and looked up at him. "What's the matter?" she asked, concerned.
-
Sorry...its just..so..strange. *Erik whispered* I had hardened myself off incase I did meet you expecting total rejection, I'm happy...don't get me wrong....but its just strange.
-
Christine smiled, "Well, you deserve to be happy." she said, remembering when she caught Raoul with Erik's saddlebags.
-
*Erik struggled to regain composure* Sorry...I'm just been silly
-
"Don't be sorry." Christine replied, then added in thought, 'It's me who should be sorry, your mask is laying on the table and I'm the one who put it there.'
-
*Erik was suprised but he was too tired to get angry, and in a way it had suprised him...Christine hadn't flinched away*
-
Christine looked down, embarassed.
-
*Erik gently lifted Christine head up* There's no need to be embarassed *he said quietly*
-
Christine looked into Erik's eyes. "I'm sorry." she whispered, "You must think I'm awful. I'm always the one taking your mask off."
-
No doubt you had your reasons...like I had mine whenever I killed *Erik said quietly, trying to be understanding*
-
"But still, I did it. I had every reason not to, I could have stopped myself, but I didn't. I did it anyway." Christine answered, still ashamed. She fought back tears that formed in her eyes.
-
Christine...I am not mad at you. *Erik said gently hugging Christine again*
-
Christine returned Erik's hug, holding him close. "You have every reason to be." she said softly, keeping her tears at bay.
-
I promise you I'm not....you probably wanted me to be able to sleep...*Erik said softly*
-
Christine nodded slowly. "I still am sorry though." she said, wiping at her eyes.
-
I forgive you, I can always forgive you *Erik whispered, gently kissing Christine*
-
Christine's tears landed softly on Erik's shoulder. She held him close, feeling warm and safe in his arms.
-
Sshh..its all right *he said softly, holding christine close gently rocking her back and forth*
-
Christine let Erik rock her, the motion made her feel better.
-
*Erik smiled slightly, gently he stroked her hair with one hand*
-
Christine smiled as well, leaning into Erik's arm, while he stroked her hair with the other.
-
I never though there'd be a time when you were with me in this way *Erik said softly* I mean without me using my voice, or mystery to lure you to me first *he was still gently stroking Christines hair, lightly running his fingers through it*
-
"It's interesting what love can do." Christine answered just as softly.
-
*Erik gently ran the fingers of the hand that had been stroking Christines hair in a zig zag fashion down Christines back, ever so gentle*
-
Christine didn't pull away. She closed her eyes and smiled with pleasure.
-
*Erik would have stopped if it had caused Christine to show any signs of discomfort, he didn't want to lose her after all*
-
Christine sighed happily. "Don't stop." she whispered. His hands felt so good.
-
*Erik smiled gently kissing Christine, his hands continuing their restless motion, teasing her ever so slightly, tormenting her most likely*
-
Christine had forgotten everyone but Erik. Eyes closed, she reached up and kissed him, just under the jaw.
-
*Erik smiled slightly as Christine kissed him* I love you so much *he whispered as he gently ran the fingers of one hand down Christines neck, gently, moving again in a zig zag motion knowing it would be probably sending her crazy*
-
Christine smiled. "I love you too." she whispered, still kissing him. She rolled her shoulders back, exposing a little more of her chest.
-
*Erik shuddered slightly, it seems he wasn't the only one who could tease. But he was enjoying it, he deepened the kiss ever so slightly*
-
Christine's kisses slowly moved down from Erik's jaw to his neck.
-
*Erik felt his pulse quicken slightly, sure Christine would be able to hear his heart pounding, his breathing quickened slightly*
-
Christine smiled coyly. "Are you panicking, Monsieur Phantom?" she asked.
-
*Erik shook his head* N..n..no *he couldn't help stammering slightly, he loved her that much*
-
Christine smiled again and reached up to kiss him on the lips. Pulling away, she smiled again and said, "Whatever you say."
-
*For Erik this was pure torture, he wanted her so much*
-
Christine reached up and kissed Erik again, smiling.
-
*Erik returned the kiss, trying to keep his own composure, and not having a lot of luck*
-
"I like you better without your mask." Christine whispered, "It's easier to" she kissed him again, "do that."
-
*Erik almost lost control of his emotions again, he was sure Christine could hear his heart pounding, he just wanted her so much..he loved her so much*
-
Christine smiled and rested her head just under Erik's chin.
-
*Erik was shaking ever so slightly as he fought to keep control*
-
Christine looked up at Erik. "What's the matter?"
-
I love you so much *he whispered*
-
"I love you too." Christine answered, smiling, "More than you could ever know."
-
*Erik gently kissed Christine again*
-
Christine returned Erik's kiss deeply, enjoying every moment with him.
-
Christine...you know if I ever do anything that makes you uncomfortable...tell me *he said quietly*
-
"What could you possible do to make me feel that way?" Christine asked.
-
*Erik shrugged* I don't know...I was just saying
-
Christine rested her head under Erik's chin again. "You're so amazing." she whispered.
-
*Erik was suprised and for a split second his hands stopped their restless movements before they continued again*
-
Christine smiled and leaned into Erik, letting his hands move wherever they wanted.
-
*Gently Erik nipped at Christines neck, not hard enough to leave a mark but enough she'd feel it.*
-
Christine giggled softly. The bite tickled just a bit. She moved her head and kissed him under the chin.
-
*Erik smiled slightly, he knew that he was probably driving Christine wild, without hurting her or making her uncomfortable, he could tell by her reaction*
-
Christine looked up into Erik's face and smiled at him. No words were needed at moments like these.
-
*one again Erik kissed Christine, gently nibbling her lower lip*
-
Christine returned Erik's kiss, deepening it slightly.
-
*Erik closed his eyes slightly, not wanting it to end*
-
Christine didn't want it to end either. She didn't pull away.
-
*Erik gently started to undo the laces of Christines corset* (Fast Forward to later?)
-
(lol, sure. how much later?)
-
(Hm....about 5 hours?)
-
(lol, alright. you do the honours or I?)
-
(You :P)
-
(fine ::) :P)
Christine gave Erik one final kiss before pulling away and smiling.
-
(:P) *Eriks breathing slowed.* I love you *he whispered.*
-
Christine smiled, her eyes were sparkling. "I love you too." she answered.
-
*Erik kissed Christine again, unable to believe it wasn't a dream*
-
Christine returned Erik's kiss before pulling away and smiling. "You are an angel." she whispered.
-
*Erik smiled* what sort of angel? Of Music or of death or of something else? *he whispered back*
-
"You're my angel, that's what." Christine answered, smiling. She kissed him again.
-
*Erik smiled kissing Christine back*
-
(hey, guess who i found!)
Raoul woke up, he had fallen asleep in his study.
-
(LOL!)
You've always been an angel to me, its why I don't want to hurt you
-
Christine smiled. "You could never hurt me." she whispered.
Raoul paced back and forth in his study. Now that he was finally awake he couldn't go back to sleep.
-
*Erik kissed Christine again, gently running one hand down her back*
-
Raoul quietly left his study to see if Christine had returned to her room.
Christine returned the kiss, smiling, but hearing footsteps, her breathing quickened. She looked at Erik. "Raoul." she whispered, frightened.
-
*Erik held Christine close* Its all right *he said softly* he can't make you want him.
-
Erik's words calmed Christine a little, but she was still afraid. "I should hide somewhere. He won't search the room."
-
*Erik didn't want Christine to leave him* if it makes you feel safer *he whispered, gently kissing her again*
-
Quickly, Christine got up to search for a place to hide. There was a small niche in the corner between the bureau and the wall. Making herself as small as she could, she leaned slightly against the bureau, so she'd have a chance at not being seen. "If he comes in, just pretend you're asleep." she whispered to Erik.
Raoul opened Christine's door, to find the bed still empty. He sighed, but then he shut the door and made his way to Erik's room. Slowly and quietly, he turned the handle and opened the door.
-
*ERik deepened his breathing, closing his eyes as he heard the Vimcotes footsteps approach, pretending to be asleep*
-
Christine held her breath.
Raoul walked quietly into the room, but Christine wasn't in here either. He couldn't see her. Sighing again, he left the room and shut the door.
-
*Once he heard the door shut and was sure the vimcote had left from the fact there was only the sound of his own breathing he slowly opened his eyes*
-
Christine exhaled softly, and emerged from her hiding spot. Walking back over to the bed, she climbe in and whispered "Thank you."
-
*Erik gently ran his hand along Christines jawline* I'd do anything to make you feel safe *he whispered softly*
-
Christine smiled and kissed Erik.
-
*Erik smiled, his eyes that could seem hard and unfriendly were a lot softer as he gently returned the kiss*
-
Christine became a little worried. "If Raoul just came in," she said, "He must be awake, and definitely wondering where I am. One of us, or both, should get out of this room before he gets really suspicious."
-
*Erik nodded, he would trust Christine in this matter* Where should we, or one of us go? *Erik asked quietly*
-
"I guess I should go out first, so Raoul can see me and know I'm here. If he saw that I wasn't in my bedroom or in here, he will get suspicious." Christine said.
-
*Erik nodded, seeing the wisdom in Christines words* So he knows I haven't managed to spirit you away somewhere
-
Christine smiled. "Like under the bedsheets?" she said playfully before kissing him one last time and climbing out of bed to pull her clothes on.
-
*Erik smiled slightly.* I think I've said this more times then I can count but... I love you so much.
-
Christine looked at Erik, her eyes still sparkling happily. "I love you too." she answered.
-
Probably said this more then once...but I never thought that it'd be possible for you to ever love me...not after what happened when Raoul came... *Erik whispered*
-
Christine smiled. "Anything's possible." she said, walking to the door. "I'll be back." Christine whispered before opening it and walking out quietly, shutting the door behind her.
-
*Erik nodded, already missing Christine, slowly he started to doze slightly, not wanting to forget what had happened though*
-
Christine tiptoed to her room to find new clothes to change into. After dressing, she went out and wandered around the house to find Raoul.
Raoul was down in the kitchen nervously trying to eat breakfast. He was worried about Christine. Not in either bedroom, where could she have been?
-
*Erik could still picture Christines body with his eyes closed, could still imagine her lieing there beside him*
-
Christine found Raoul still in the kitchen. Immediately, he stood up to greet her. "Where were you? I was worried." He walked up to give her a kiss, which she half heartedly returned, then looked away. "Oh, well you must have just missed me." She didn't sit down to join Raoul. "Not really all that hungry." she said softly, Raoul didn't argue, just watched curiously as Christine left.
Christine walked quickly back up the stairs and quietly let herself into Erik's bedroom.
-
*Erik opened his eyes, turning his head slightly as he heard the door open. He smiled as he saw Christine walk in*
-
Christine smiled. "Hi." she whispered, "Were you sleeping?"
-
No, thinking of you *Erik replied, just as quietly*
-
Christine smiled and sat in the chair she'd abandoned the night before, still in it's same spot next to the bed.
Raoul walked into the room a few minutes after Christine had. Seeing Eriik was awake, he stopped. "Oh, you're awake. Good, good." he stammered softly.
-
*Erik looked at Raoul* Good morning to you, Vimcote *he said politely, knowing deep down he had the edge*
-
"Good morning." Raoul started, "Er, yes. So, um, yes. Are you feeling better?" He added awkwardly.
-
A bit better, thank you for enquiring, Vimcote *Eriks voice was calm, and there was simple politeness tone wise*
-
Raoul cleared his throat. "Your horse." he said, "Is, doing well. He's in the er stables if you would like to see him. Now if you will excuse me, I have, um, some business to attend to." he finished, making up an excuse to leave. Nodding quickly, he turned on his heel and left the room, not bothering to shut the door.
-
*Erik allowed himself a slight smile as Raoul left. So, it would seem he still made Raoul nervous....that was interesting*
-
Christine smiled. "I think he's a bit nervous." She said, almost laughing.
-
Just what I was thinking *Erik said softly, with a smile* what is it 'be nervous as your worst enemy is around'
-
"Who knows." Christine answered, "I think maybe, he was a bit suprised to see you with out that." She lowered her eyes and gestured to Erik's mask.
-
*Erik shrugged* to be honest I was half expecting some remark. Perhaps I suprised him with my politeness as well *Erik gave a devilish grin*
-
Christine smiled coyly. "Maybe." she said.
-
A while ago.... I'd have never thought this would be possible. I'd have thought you'd have shunned me totally.
-
"Well, here I am." Christine said softly.
-
I know *Erik said softly, gently kissing Christines hand*
-
Christine smiled, not being able to think of something to say.
-
*Erik was calm and content.*
-
Christine stood up. "Would you, like to see Cesar? He's probably anxious to see you, and to know you are alright."
-
*Erik nodded* I know he'll be worried for me
-
"I'll let you get ready then. I'll be just outside in the hallway." Christine said, turning to leave.
-
*Erik again gave a nod. He knew that he wouldn't live if Christine betrayed him again*
-
Christine gave Erik a smile before shutting the door behind her.
-
*Erik slowly found his clothes and slipped them on, smiling as he remembered how come they'd ended up being removed*
-
Christine waited patiently in the hallway.
-
*once Erik was clothed he used his fingers to swiftly brush his hair and neaten it up before he quietly opened the door*
-
Hearing the door, Christine turned to Erik and smiled. "Ready?" she asked.
-
*Erik smiled as well* yep
-
"This way." Christine quietly led Erik outside to the stables.
-
*Erik followed Christine, his eyes taking everything in*
-
Christine opened the door to the stables which caught the attention of several horses who stuck their heads out of their stalls curiously.
-
*Cesar snorted as he picked up Eriks scent, sticking his own head over the door to his stall, giving a soft nicker as he saw Erik*
-
Christine gave a smile as she saw Cesar seeing Erik.
-
Hey *Erik said softly to Cesar, holding his hand out for Cesar to sniff*
-
Christine stood next to Erik.
-
*Cesar snorted as he sniffed Eriks offered hand before gently butting Erik, then he turned his head to look at Christine and gave another soft snort*
-
Christine smiled at Cesar. "Been keeping Raoul out of trouble?" she asked him.
-
*Cesar snorted, nodding his head. Erik gave a soft laugh, he could only imagine what Cesar had been up to* Getting your revenge for the time his horses spooked you hm? *he said softly*
-
Christine laughed at Cesar's response. "Good." she said smiling.
-
*Cesar snorted again, nodding his head to answer Eriks question* You've not been causing havoc have you? *Erik asked softly. Cesar placed his head on one side as if contemplating the question before snorting*
-
Christine smiled. "Well, I brought Erik down here because I figured you'd be worried about him." she said.
-
*Cesar snorted before gently butting Erik with his head, asking for a fuss. Erik gave a soft laugh before he gently stroked Cesars neck. Cesar gently leant his head on Eriks shoulder*
-
Christine smiled. She could see how close Erik and Cesar were.
-
You missed me, hm? *Erik asked Cesar softly, smiling at his nod*
-
"So are you comfortable here?" Christine asked Cesar, not knowing how Raoul had taken care of him.
-
*Cesar placed his head on one side, again looking like he was thinking, his intelligent brown eyes looking at Christine before he nodded giving a soft nicker as if to say 'yep. Raouls fun to tease'*
-
"That's good." Christine answered with a slight laugh.
-
*Erik laughed* What is it, tease him without creating too much havoc? *he asked*
*Cesar nodded*
-
"Well, whatever you've done to him he probably deserved."
-
*Cesar nodded with a snort. Erik smiled* I can only imagine what he's been getting up to. He has my sort of humour, so it could be anything from pretending to bite him to trying to make him jump
-
Christine smiled. "Or both. Roaul spent an awful lot of time down here last night."
-
Knowing Cesar both *Erik said with a smile. Cesar gave a knowing snort before giving another nicker that sounded like laughter*
-
"I'll have a talk with him later." Christine said, "Shame on him for disturbing a guest."
-
*Erik laughed, gently rubbing the spot between Cesars eyes*
-
Christine shyly walked up to Cesar and held her hand out to him. The last time she'd been this close to him was the first night she saw Erik. It seemed like forever ago.
-
*Cesar sniffed Christines hand before giving a gentle snort, lowering his head slightly, showing he accepted her presence*
-
Christine gently patted Cesar's forehead and scratched him behind his ears.
-
*Cesar snorted, enjoying the attention*
-
Raoul was wondering why it had suddenly gotten silent inside, not that it wasn't already quiet, but now it was too quiet. He walked outside to the barn to check on "that horse."
-
(LOL)
*Erik leant against the wall, happy to be with Christine, and happy to be with Cesar*
-
Christine slipped her other hand into Erik's while still patting Cesar.
Raoul took his time getting to the stables. He really didn't want to see Cesar, it might hurt.
-
*Erik smiled.* love you *he said softly to Christine*
(again! LMAO)
-
"I love you too." Christine answered.
Raoul opened the door to the stables. Immediately, Christine jumped and quickly pulled away from Erik, watching Raoul and trying to plan in her head what she might say.
-
*Erik pretended to be petting Cesar, able to appear as if that was all he'd been doing*
-
Christine quickly tried to calm herself and look as though all she'd been doing was watching Erik and Cesar.
Raoul looked up after closing the door, suprised to see both Erik and Christine here. "Oh, there you are." he said, "Careful, Christine, that horse bites." he added, giving Cesar a look.
-
*Cesar snorted, his eyes having a wicked glint. He nickered at Raoul, making it sound as if he was laughing at him*
-
"I'm sure I'll be alright." Christine said assuringly, moving forward ever so slightly towards Erik.
Raoul scowled at Cesar quickly before walking over to Christine and casually putting his arm around her waist. Christine couldn't help herself but tense slightly.
-
*Cesar glanced at Erik, asking a silent question. Erik gave an almost imperceptible nod, moving to one side slightly, only just hiding his smile. Cesar snorted gently butting Raoul asking for a fuss*
-
Raoul jumped slightly, causing Christine to try her hardest not to laugh a little, and looked at Cesar. "Oh now you want to be my friend, is that it?" Raoul asked, frowning slightly and crossing his arms.
-
*Cesar snorted, butting Raoul, asking for a fuss. Erik was again having trouble supressing his want to laugh. He knew precisely what Cesar had planned*
-
As Raoul lost his grip on her, Christine quietly stepped back and moved to stand next to Erik.
Raoul warily moved forward closer to Cesar, not exactly trusting but the horse was acting friendly.
-
*Cesar lowered his head slightly, as if to say 'come on.. I wanna fuss'. Erik was only just stopping himself from smileing*
-
Raoul cautiously held his hand out to Cesar's head and petted him. "So I guess there's no hard feelings?" Raoul asked.
-
*Cesar snorted again, accepting Raouls petting.*
-
Raoul gave a short, nervous laugh. "You're not so vicious after all." he said, "And to think I was afraid of you."
-
*Cesar snorted, acting perfectly docile*
-
Christine gave Erik a look that asked, "What are you two up to?"
-
*Erik smiled slightly, his eyes gleaming with that unmistakable Opera Ghost gleam. He glanced at Christine, his eyes were saying 'you'll see'*
-
Christine smiled back and watched Raoul and Cesar eagerly, then again secretly sliding her hand into Erik's because Raoul couldn't see them.
Raoul eventually lowered his guard and relaxed, completely unaware.
-
*Erik gave a smile, just waiting.*
*Cesar sneakily bit Raoul, careful to make sure that he could pretend he hadn't done a thing*
-
Raoul jumped and gave a small shriek soon as he felt pain, then stared at Cesar accusingly.
-
*Cesar looked at Raoul as if to say 'what?' looking totally innocent*
-
Raoul frowned at Cesar then turned to look at Erik and Christine who quickly hid the fact that they were holding hands. He turned back to Cesar and frowned.
-
*Erik had only just managed to reget a straight face on as Raoul had looked in his and Christines direction. Cesar kept up his air of total innocence before looking at the horse in the stall next to him, giving a snort. The horse oblingly put his ears back*
-
Raoul turned to the horse next to Cesar and looked at him questioningly.
-
*The horse made as if to bite Raoul. Cesar gave a soft snort as if to say 'would I hurt you?'*
-
(Yes actually, he would. lol)
Raoul gave both horses a look, thinking they may have planned something. Who knew?
-
(Still :P )
*'Would I hurt someone who I just decided to make friends with?' Cesars next snort asked that question. Erik only just stopped himself sn1ggering 'yes' he thought*
-
Raoul frowned slightly and edged away from Cesar's neighbor horse.
-
*Cesar gently butted Raoul again, asking for a fuss*
-
Christine looked at Erik and secretly sent him a smile.
Raoul resumed petting Cesar, slightly confused, but remaining calm.
-
*Erik gave a slight smile, watching as Cesar kept up the pretense of total innocence*
-
Raoul kept petting Cesar, a bit more cautiously, but remained watching the neighbor horse instead of Cesar.
-
*Cesar snorted contentdly, it was also the sign for the other horse to keep trying to nibble Raoul. Eventually Cesar pretended to get tired and swung his head round and gently nipped the other horse.*
-
Raoul stepped back. "Well, that was, fun." he said nervously after a slight pause, he seemed to be the only one talking which felt awkward.
-
Easy Cesar *Erik said softly. Cesar snorted, lowering his head slightly, pretending to calm down and return to behaving himself*
-
Raoul wasn't quite sure what to do. Awkward silence in the stables, or complete silence in the house?
-
He should calm down now. I think he just didn't like that other horse snapping at you *Erik said quietly*
-
Christine tried not to laugh.
"Well at least he's not biting me anymore." Raoul said, referring to Cesar.
-
I think he's accepted that there's no point trying to bite you as its you ensuring that he gets fed *Erik said quietly*
-
Raoul nodded. He reached up and began petting Cesar again.
-
*Cesar allowed Raoul to pet him, and he was starting to lose that 'must snap at Raoul' edge, slightly, for now*
-
Raoul lowered his guard and relaxed completely.
-
*Cesar gently nibbled Raoul, not wanting to hurt Raoul, just wondering if Raoul had any treats*
-
"I don't have anything, sorry." Raoul sadi.
-
*Cesar gave a sad snort, before butting Raouls hand asking for another fuss*
Looks like Raoul's a new favourite *Erik said quietly, smiling*
-
Christine nodded and smiled.
Raoul kept petting Cesar, scratching his ears and rubbing his neck.
-
*Cesar snorted, before he looked towards the fields, wanting out. Erik smiled, he knew what Cesar wanted. He knew that Cesar was used to moving around, after all if he weren't helping move scenary around backstage, more recently he was used to long journeys.*
-
Raoul looked around, not seeing a lead or halter nearby. "I, er think he wants out." he managed, "I haven't got a lead anywhere."
-
He'll follow, if you tell him where you're heading *Erik said softly*
-
Raoul didn't really want to let Cesar out himself. He called over a stable boy and gave him instructions. The stable boy lifted the latch to unlock the door and opened it, leading Cesar out to the pasture.
-
*Cesar snorted following the stable boy totally tame and docile.*
-
Raoul stood back next to Christine, who looked indifferent to Raoul's presence.
-
*Erik smiled slightly as he watched Cesar leaving, happy his horse was happy*
-
Raoul looked around. "Well, er, I'm going back inside. Coming Christine?"
Christine looked at Erik. "In a minute." she said, not looking at Raoul, who looked suprised and a little suspicious. He said nothing though and left.
-
*Erik laughed as soon as Raoul had left, keeping it quiet though so Raoul wouldn't hear* Trust Cesar to plan that trick.
-
Christine smiled. "He's a smart horse."
-
*Erik smiled* he's bound to be, I trained him.
-
Christine nodded, "You did a very good job."
-
*Erik smiled* I saved him from death as a foal, the catacombs stretch all the way under Paris, and to the very outskirts. I found him on the outskirts, his mother dead.
-
"Did you find out what happened?" Christine asked, "To his mother?"
-
*Erik nodded* His mother had been shot, they'd left him for dead. *he replied softly*
-
"That's terrible." Christine said.
-
He was a month old when I found him, too weak to stand on his feet, I picked him up and carried him back to the Opera House, leaving him in the care of one of the mares and the stable master.
-
"It's not a wonder why he loves you so much. You saved his life." Christine commented.
-
*Erik nodded* Its why he'd give his life to save me, I'd do the same for him
-
Christine smiled, "I know you would." She reached up and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
-
*Erik smiled, happy.* I love you so much *he whispered softly*
-
"I love you too." Christine answered.
-
*Erik gently kissed Christine*
-
Christine returned the kiss lovingly and smiled.
-
*Erik smiled gently hugging Christine*
-
Christine wrapped her arms around Erik, letting them hold each other close.
-
*Erik smiled before kissing Christine again*
-
Christine returned Erik's kiss.
A few of the horses in their stalls snorted and watched the couple curiously.
-
(LOL!)
*the one next to Cesars empty stall snorted softly, he was happy that Raoul was being beaten*
-
Christine looked at Cesar's neighbor horse and smiled, putting a finger to her lips signaling that this was secret. She wrapped her arm around Erik again and kissed him.
-
*Darky (we shall call the neighbour horse) snorted nodding his head to signal his understanding.*
*Erik smiled, returning Christines kiss*
-
Raoul watched the stables from his window waiting for them to come out because he couldn't see inside. He had expected Christine to leave soon after he had, but she was still inside there with Erik. Raoul gave a slight shudder.
-
*Erik knew they couldn't stay here forever, no matter how much he wished they could, he knew eventually Raoul would get suspicious*
-
Many of the horses still watched curiously. Christine smiled. "We're being watched." she said.
-
*Erik smiled* Its in a horses nature to be curious *he said softly*
-
"It's a good thing they can't talk." Christine answered.
-
I don't know. Sometimes Cesar can give me such a look that its as good as speaking.
-
Christine looked at the door. "Unfortunately, we can't stay in here much longer. Raoul would get suspicious."
-
*Erik nodded, knowing the truth in Christines words.* I never want to leave you.
-
"And I'm not going to leave you." Christine answered, "Not quietly at least."
-
*Erik smiled, gently kissing Christine*
-
Christine returned the kiss and smiled, resting her head on Erik's chest.
-
*Erik was thinking*
-
Raoul felt tempted to go back down there and see what they were doing, but he didn't. He'd spend enough time there already.
-
There has to be someway we can get away from Raoul *he muttered*
-
"We can leave." Christine said, "When Raoul's not watching, which I'm guessing he is now though."
-
*Erik nodded* probably knowing Raoul
-
"Later then," Christine said, "Tomorrow, whenever you want. I'll follow you wherever you go."
-
*Erik gently kissed Christine* well if we go tomorrow it will give us time to agree on what we will do
-
Christine smiled. "Tomorrow then." she agreed.
-
*Erik thought swiftly* if we do it right when we leave we can make it look like I'm still fairly weak, *he muttered thoughtfully* I mean today, preferably before Raoul gets too suspicious over why we are taking so long
-
"How would we pull that off?" Christine asked.
-
You've probably noticed I can disemble instantly, I can act weaker then I am, just as I acted as if I'd been spending some time with Cesar when Raoul entered.
-
Christine nodded. "So what are we going to do?"
-
I can act as if I'm leaning on you, as if I can't take my full weight *Erik had given this a lot of thought*
-
Christine nodded, listening intensely.
-
Raoul would see it as harmless, remembering that I had been ill recently, so it wouldn't be too suprising I was still fairly weak.
-
"He gets nervous around you anyway." Christine said, "Why, I do not know."
-
*Erik smiled* probably don't want me pulling off my usual disappearing trick with you with me
-
"Unfortunately for him, that's exactly what he's going to get." Christine answered, smiling.
-
*Erik smiled* naturally, *he gently kissed Christine* anyway, shall we put Raoul out of his misery, with a bit of acting?
-
Christine smiled, kissing Erik back. "After you, Monsieur." she said, smiling.
-
I shall try and give you some warning as to when I'm going to stagger *Erik said softly slowly walking out of the stables, taking on the role of being weak*
-
Christine nodded, walking alongside Erik as though she were supporting him.
Raoul gave a sigh of relief as he watched the two leave the stables.
-
*Erik was keeping his head slightly lowered* going to stagger now *Erik muttered, his voice lowered. He was as good as his word, stagering slightly as if he was struggling, but trying not to need Christines help*
-
Christine kept a straight face, putting Erik's arm around her neck to "support" him.
Raoul watched for a moment through the window, then left the window to sit in his study.
-
*Erik gave a smile, which was part of the reason why he'd kept his head lowered, it would ensure that Raoul wouldn't be able to see his face.* love you *he whispered*
-
Christine smiled slightly. "Love you too." she answered, openning the door for Erik.
-
*Erik kept up his weak act, though in reality he wasn't really that weak, most of it was just his acting, and he was a good actor*
-
"I think we've got Raoul convinced, he hasn't done anything drastic yet." Christine said, "Now what?"
-
*Erik smiled again* what like try to kill me? *he commented* and as to now what, keeping in accordance with me being weak, I'd say it would be time for me to "rest". *he was careful to keep his voice quiet enough that only Christine would hear what he said*
-
Christine nodded and walked alongside Erik going to his bedroom.
-
*Erik was ready to continue his act of being weak if Raoul appeared*
-
Raoul walked out of his bedroom to head to his study. Seeing Erik and Christine, he said "Oh good, you're back, um good."
-
*Erik smoothly slipped into his role of being weak, he raised his head as he heard Raouls words before lowering it again as if even that used too much energy*
-
Christine nodded nonchalantly. "He still needs some rest." she said.
Roaul nodded, and continued to his study.
-
*Erik listened to Raouls footsteps receeding. Once he judged it was safe he slipped out of his role of being weak, giving his usual Opera Ghost grin*
-
Christine smiled back, her eyes gleaming, after she heard Raoul close his door.
-
Nicely done *Erik said softly*
-
"Thank you. You're not so bad yourself." Christine answered, joking.
-
*Erik smiled* hours spent feeling bored down in my lair, practising acting to the point I could bring the emotions and feelings onto my face was a way of filling those hours
-
"It's not a lair," Christine whispered, kissing Erik, "It's a palace."
-
*Erik smiled* the seat of sweet musics throne *he said softly*
-
"At the bottom of the lake," Christine said, "In the triangle of earth, fire and water."
-
*Erik smiled gently kissing Christine*
-
Christine returned the kiss. "What are we going to do now? We've got him convinced I'm sure."
-
I'd say we need to think on the best way of avoiding any suspicions tomorrow *Erik kept his voice low*
-
Christine nodded. "We could go down to the stables again. Raoul knows how close you and Cesar are."
-
*Erik nodded* that is indeed a possibility, and I think Raoul can't really be too suspicious when I'm clearly weak *Erik gave another grin, careful to keep his voice low just incase Raoul was listening*
-
Raoul heard low voices in the hallway, but they were too quiet for him to care about what they were saying.
"He shouldn't at least." Christine said.
-
*Erik nodded* anyway, we should be able to contemplate a bit better in my room *he said with a smile*
-
Christine smiled and nodded, opening Erik's door.
-
*Erik slowly walked through the door gently kissing Christine again*
-
Christine returned the kiss, shutting the door quietly.
-
*Erik smiled, sitting cross legged on the bed*
-
Christine went over and sat next to Erik.
-
*Erik smiled gently kissing Christine* do you know if Raoul ever goes on hunting excursions?
-
Christine closed her eyes and thought. "Occasionally I think. If he does it's not often."
-
*Erik nodded* I guess he don't like the thought of killing defenceless animals
-
Christine sighed. "And yet he'd kill you to get to me." she said solemnly, "Kind of ironic isn't it."
-
O yes, very ironic. Whereas me, unless he gets me annoyed I wouldn't kill him as I wouldn't want to risk losing you.
-
"You could never lose me." Christine said.
-
*Erik smiled gently kissing Christine* Good. I can't live without you. Not even Music can numb the pain of loss when its deep. *Erik said softly*
-
"You won't have to worry about that anymore." said Christine, "I'll never leave you."
-
*Erik gently kissed Christine again* good *he said softly*
-
Christine returned Erik's kiss. "So how are we going to do this? I doubt Raoul will be watching if we're careful."
-
Raoul knows how close I am to Cesar. He also knows I'm still not strong, or I seem not to be strong. So he'll probably figure that I need you to help me still. Which would ensure to keep his suspicions at bay there.
-
"Right," Christine agreed, "Cesar should be back in his stall by now, the stable boy would have given him fresh food."
-
*Erik nodded* We'll have to give him time to let the food settle down, I won't risk him.
-
Christine nodded. "We wouldn't get very far if he got sick."
-
Yea exactly, and I have no wish to put him through any pain
-
"No, of course not." Christine agreed.
-
*Erik gently kissed Christine*
-
Christine returned the kiss, smiling. "So what should we do while we wait?"
-
*Erik thought* What besides enjoy the time spent together?
-
"Anything's good enough for me, so long as I'm with you." Christine whispered.
-
For once I am stuck for ideas so I would indeed say just enjoy time spent together.
-
Christine smiled and kissed Erik, grasping his hand gently.
-
*Erik kissed Christine, enjoying her soft touch*
-
Christine deeped her kiss ever so slightly.
-
*Erik was hugging Christine, needing to feel her near him*
-
Christine returned Erik's embrace, leaning into his body.
-
*Erik smiled gently kissing Christine again*
-
Christine lovingly kissed Erik back, loving every moment.
-
*Erik smiled* at times I still have trouble believing this isn't a dream, as I have said I never thought this would ever be happening. Still love you though.
-
"I am sort of suprised at this turnout as well, if you don't mind my saying." Christine admitted, "I love you too."
-
*Erik gently kissed Christine again*
-
Christine returned Erik's kiss.
-
*Erik smiled* I don't ever want to leave you...ever
-
"You won't have to." Christine answered, "Nothing can separate us now."
-
*Erik smiled* once more we are together, never to be apart *he said softly*
-
"No one can make me stop loving you." Christine whispered.
-
Just as nothing can ever stop me from loving you *Erik replied gently kissing Christine again*
-
Christine deepened Erik's kiss slightly. "Until death do us part," she whispered, "And even beyond that."
-
*Erik smiled* And hopefully death will be a long way away *he said softly* For surely it would not be right for death to follow soon after happiness would it? But the way my luck normally pans out that is what usually happens... But perhaps all that will change.
I gave in fighting fate a long time ago. She would eventually win anyway. The best I could do was learn to live with what I had, namely Music. I will warn you now, although I do have some money put aside... it is not as much as the Vimcote has, for I have never been a wealthy man. I did manage to think in advance to save some money while I was getting enough to do that so I wouldn't starve too soon if anything like the managers refusing to pay my salary.
*Erik sighed. He knew now there was no way he would be able to get any more money in. He just wanted Christine to be happy, that was all. He knew he could never be truly happy without Christine being happy... now it wasn't just about being loved for who he was, it was also happiness of whoever choose him...and though he had never expected it to be Christine who wished to live with him...who had choose to accept that he could not change how he looked, and was limited to how he could change himself in ways that would possibly be giving him an unwanted poor reputation...like being a murderer. He just knew deep down though without Christine being happy to be with him, and not minding a poorer lifestyle possibly then what she would have had with the Vimcote, that he would never truly be happy.*
(OOC: I am going to be changing to speech marks around spoken text properly set out paragraphed responses in this rp)
-
Christine gave a small smile. "It's no matter. We'll make due with what we have. I'm sure I have some money as well, that my father left me." she said assuringly.
-
Erik nodded. He had long decided that he would keep as few secrets as was possible. He knew most people thought him wealthy...especially as M'sieur Leferve had always left him 20,000 francs...after a few accidents that had been caused by him. Yet they were wrong. He had saved what he hadn't spent though, so he had enough to last him, and anyone with him for some time at least.
-
Christine leaned her head over to rest on Erik's shoulder. She would adjust herself and her way of living for Erik. Whatever it takes, she thought to herself.
-
Erik yawned starting to feel slightly tired. Yet he still did not particularly like to be asleep. He was still getting the occasional nightmare asleep and he did not like them. Currently he prefered to be awake to being asleep. He smiled as Christine laid her head on his shoulder. She relaxed him and made him feel safer.
-
Christine heard Erik yawn and looked up him. "Are you still tired?" she asked gently.
-
"I'll cope"Erik said softly.
He was actually determined to cope as he did not feel like facing nightmares again. Sleep was becoming his worst enemy...and that normally happened only when he was trying to finish some music off.
-
"Sleep if you need to, I'll be here." Christine assured Erik.
-
"It just seems whenever I fall asleep I can't sleep without dreaming of things I'd rather forget, things that scare even me," Erik admitted softly.
He hung his head slightly, as if he was ashamed at his own fear. Yet he knew he couldn't help it, but he still ended up feeling ashamed. He shouldn't be afraid, and yet he was.
-
Christine laid a hand on Erik's arm. "It's alright," she whispered, "you don't have to be ashamed. But you'll have to get some sleep sometime."
-
"I've coped for 6 months without sleep, and still managed to turn up for a bal du Masque," Erik said softly.
He was refering to the recent one...the last one before he'd set fire to the Opera House in which he'd delivered his Don Juan. 6 months without eating or sleeping, occasionally stopping to get a drink nothing more, nothing less.
-
Christine didn't know this.
-
"Madame Giry was worrying about my lack of eating. Music had became all I needed, my food and my rest. I placed everything I had into Don Juan. After the fight when you left...I saw it as my last chance to show how much I loved you... that I loved you so much that I would even risk capture," Erik continued.
-
"I was ignorant." Christine said, "I had to off and ruin everything." She looked down at the floor.
-
"I forgive you... I should have realised that you were innocent...you did not understand how harsh life could be. I learnt how harsh life was when I was young," Erik said softly.
He stifled another yawn. It was true though, life had never been particularly kind to him. It was something though that he had got used to.
-
"I never thought my life could get any more frustrating, confusing and scary after my father died." Christine said, "I never expected to go through all this."
-
"Life can be a lot worst...I should know. Very little can be worst then having your mother refuse to kiss you and then selling you off to gypsies after your 7th birthday. That's happened to me," Erik said quietly.
-
"I'm sorry." said Christine, "I didn't know."
-
Erik gave a slight shrug. He knew Mme Giry knew, and now Christine knew. But he was not going to keep any secrets other then those he had no choice but to.
"Madame Giry helped me escape from the freak show after I killed my gypsy master, Javert...he were a nasty peice of work. And you weren't too know, I had never told you and Mme Giry would never have told anyone," Erik said softly.
(He don't know Mme Giry told Raoul)
-
(Neither does Christine I think)
"Madame Giry was always very kind," Christine said.
-
(well unless Raoul told her that no I don't think she does :P)
"She was in a way like a mother to me. She always ensured I had food and any other of my few needs, even if she had to pay for them out of her own money," Erik said with a smile.
-
"She was a mother for me as well," Christine said, "after Father died and she brought me to the opera house."
-
"Madame Giry was always kind, though it would seem she kept an eye out especially for those who are outcasts or those alone," Erik commented.
-
"That's true." Christine agreed.
-
Erik gave another yawn. He couldn't help it, he was too tired to not yawn. He didn't want to fall asleep, but he'd probably have no choice in the matter.
-
Christine looked at Erik, concerned. "You should sleep too. You need your energy as much as Cesar does." she said, "I'll be right here."
-
"You promise you won't leave me...I get scared when I'm left alone," Erik said softly, asking a slight question.
-
"I promise," Christine answered gently, "I wouldn't have any reason to leave you anyway."
-
Erik smiled slowly laying down. He trusted Christine not to leave him. Slowly he fell asleep, trusting Christine to stay near him.
-
Christine took Erik's hand in hers as she stayed by his side as he slept.
-
(Fast forward to next day?)
-
(yea)
Christine woke up slowly. She'd fallen asleep too, she realised. She looked at Erik, whose hand she still held, and smiled.
-
Erik was only just starting to wake up. It had been the first decent night of sleep he'd had for a while now.
-
Christine breathed deeply as she became more awake, and sighed happily.
-
Slowly Erik opened his eyes. Smiling slightly as he saw Christine. It felt like he hadn't slept as well as he'd done that last night..since...since he'd first heard Christine sing.
-
Christine met Erik's gaze and smiled at him. "Today's the day." she said softly.
-
Erik smiled. He felt better for his rest and he knew he'd possibly need all his strength, stamina and knowledge if Raoul decided to give chase.
"Todays the day when I return to the catacombs again, this time not alone," He said softly.
-
"You'll never be alone." Christine answered, "Never again."
-
Erik smiled, still half asleep. He never had mastered the knack of being awake straight away. Slowly he sat up, trying to wake up fully without much sucess.
-
"Can I get you anything?" Christine asked. She was quite the morning person.
-
"No, I'll be awake in about 10 minutes. Normally I'm active at night, so I don't normally be awake in the morning. Afternoon yes, but not normally morning," Erik said softly with a smile.
-
Christine nodded and smiled back.
-
"As you can tell, I'm not the best person for dealing with Mornings," Erik said softly laughing slightly.
-
Christine smiled. "It's fine, honestly," she said, "I can wait."
-
"I could still love you even if you couldn't wait. Cesar wouldn't go anywhere without me anyway," Erik said softly, as he was slowly starting to feel more awake.
-
Christine nodded. Erik and Cesar were close, she knew. "Take your time," Christine answered.
-
"Don't worry, I will," Erik replied softly with a smile.
-
Christine smiled and gave a soft laugh.
-
Erik was finally starting to feel about ready to face today. He stretched slightly.
"Okay, I think I'm awake now," he said with a smile.
-
"If you're not ready yet we don't have to go yet. I don't want to rush you."
-
"No, I'm awake, well awake enough to move anyway," Erik said smiling. "I had worst if I fell asleep in Cesars stall, which I did do occasionally, and Mme Giry woke me up at some unearthly hour to ensure I weren't caught."
-
Christine smiled and stood up.
-
Erik slowly stood up, stretching again to try and wake up a bit more before he found where he'd hung his undercoat, overcoat and cloak. Swiftly he slipped them on.
"I don't trust myself not to get lost, so I'm ready to be moving as soon as you are," Erik said with a smile.
-
"I'm ready if you are," Christine answered, nodding.
-
"I'm still not used to this place, so you'll still have to guide me a bit," Erik said quietly.
-
Christine nodded. "The stables aren't that far. Better yet, if Raoul is trying to watch, he won't be able to. The windows to his bedroom and study don't face the stables."
-
Erik smiled. He nodded, that was good.
"So all he'll hear is the sound of horse hooves then," he said with a smile.
-
"If he's not asleep," Christine answered with a smile, "Otherwise he might think only you were leaving, until he notices I'm gone."
-
"I wonder what the chance of pursuit is, it wouldn't get him far though...Cesar has plenty of tricks to outpace other horses," Erik said smiling.
-
"Slim chance of him chasing us, even slimmer chance of him catching us then." Christine answered.
-
"Good, I like slim chances," Erik said smiling.
-
Christine smiled and walked to the door. "Ready when you are," she said softly.
-
"Well, I'm ready," Erik said as he placed the hood of his cloak up to mask his face.
-
Christine silently opened the door and checked the hallway to make sure it was clear. She held it open for Erik and waited for him.
(hehe *sings "mission impossible"*)
-
(Lol what: dun dun duh dun dun dun dun dun duh de dun dun dun dun dun duh duh duh dun duh? :-P)
Erik smiled as he slowly walked through, needing Christine to guide him for once.
-
"This way," Christine whispered, walking out a side way to the door.
-
Erik nodded, following Christine. He didn't know the Vimcotes house so he would have to rely on Christine to guide him. Just like Christine wasn't as familar with the catacombs as he was so Christine would probably have to rely on him.
-
After a few minutes, they were outside. "The stables are just this way." Christine said.
-
Erik nodded again, smiling slightly.
-
Christine quietly led the way and opened the door to the stables.
-
Erik quietly followed. He couldn't help but smile at the irony of it all. When he'd first shown himself to Christine and brought her down to his lair - the seat of sweet Musics throne - it had been him showing Christine the way. Now he was the one dependent on Christine to show him the route to the stables, and he was the one following.
-
Christine opened the stable door and walked inside, then turned and waited for Erik.
-
Erik smiled as he walked in. Instinctivly he started to search for Cesar. He knew Cesar would recognise him soon. That would make it easier for him to find Cesar.
-
Christine walked alongside Erik quietly.
-
Cesar stuck his head over a stall door as he thought he heard the sound of footsteps. He gave a soft nicker as he saw who it was.
-
Christine smiled as she saw Cesar. "There," she whispered to Erik and pointed.
-
Erik smiled as he saw Cesar. Cesar snorted again.
"It seems he knew we wanted to find him," He said softly.
-
"Horses are smart when it comes to that." Christine answered.
-
Erik smiled. He knew how smart Cesar was. Cesar was almost as smart as him.
-
Christine looked at Erik and smiled.
-
Erik smiled again before he slowly approached Cesar, offering his hand for Cesar to sniff. Cesar snorted gently butting Eriks hand.
-
Christine followed Erik and stood by him as he petted Cesar.
-
Erik smiled. Then he glanced around soon spotting Cesars saddle, saddlebags and bridle. Quietly he collected them before he slipped into Cesars stall and got his saddle on.
-
Christine stood back out of the way as Erik saddled Cesar. Her heart beat with anticipation each moment that their escape drew near.
-
"Excited?" Erik asked as he tightened the girth up quickly.
You could tell from his movements he was indeed used to saddling and generally tacking Cesar up. He was moving with a speed that came from practise and familarity.
-
Christine smiled. "And anxious." she answered.
-
"I guess that's only natural," Erik said quietly as he slipped Cesars bridle on.
-
A few more moments, Christine's mind told her. A few more moments and she'd be far away from here.
-
Swiftly Erik slung Cesars saddlebags on, checking they were secure and all the buckles were fastened before he double checked girth, stirrup leathers and bridle. Then he lead Cesar out of his stall.
-
Christine stepped back as Cesar was led out.
-
"Ready?" Erik asked with a smile as he brought Cesar to a halt.
-
"More than ever." Christine smiled.
-
Erik helped Christine mount up. Then he mounted up behind her. Easily he picked up a light rein contact with Cesar and clicked him on into a walk, then a trot.
"We're off," he said softly a smile on his face.
Finally he would be with the one he loved, he always had loved. And she was happy, and he too was happy. Surely fate and life would let him no happiness. Surely he was not to be eternally cursed was he?
-
Christine closed her eyes and smiled. "Free." she whispered softly. The odds were favouring the two at this moment, seen as Raoul was most likely asleep and his windows couldn't see anyone who entered or exited.
-
"To be who so ever we want to be," Erik said softly.
He rarely needed to turn Cesar, for Cesar was indeed smart enough to know where they were headed, to the plains and then on to the hidden entrance in the countryside into the catacombs.
-
Christine leaned back slightly into Erik. She was so happy today no words could describe her bliss.
-
Erik smiled. He couldn't explain how much he loved Christine. He loved her so much, not even words could describe it.*
-
Raoul awoke suddenly to the faint sound of hoofbeats. He paused and listened for a moment, and his first thought was, "Oh good, he's leaving." He stayed with that thought.
-
Erik smiled. He wouldn't count himself as free until he was off the Vimcotes property and back in his own domain of the catacombs.
-
"How long do you think it'll be?" asked Christine, "To get down to the catacombs?" She didn't mind how long it took. She was just wondering.
-
"If I was keeping Cesar in a flat out gallop all the time about 2 weeks. As I'll be switching between trot and canter I'd say about a month," Erik replied softly.
-
Christine nodded, understanding.
-
"As you have guessed, Cesar means a lot to me, as does Music. But you will always take first priority," Erik said softly.
-
Christine smiled. No one else besides her father had cared so much for her.
-
Erik smiled. He couldn't help but want to ensure Christine was happy. He loved her so much that at times it hurt.
-
Christine turned around as best she could without disturbing Cesar's balance and reached up to kiss Erik on the chin.
-
Erik smiled. He loved Christine more then ever when she did act with no warning, like that. He gently kissed Christine back, knowing he could trust Cesar to make his own way to the plains.
-
Christine smiled back. To her, Erik was beautiful, inside and out. More beautiful than she ever was, and would ever be.
-
Erik was happy and relaxed. Something he had never thought he'd be for a long time, possibly never.
-
Raoul, relieved to hear Erik leave, waited until he could no longer hear the horse's hooves. Quietly leaving his room, he thought he should go see Christine.
-
(evil evil laugh from me)
"I wonder if he's thought to check on you," Erik said softly.
-
Christine smiled. "He's in for quite a suprise when he does." she answered.
Walking toward Christine's room, an eerie silence hung about, as if the house knew a secret it was about to share with him.
-
"I've managed to whisk you away again," Erik said with a soft laugh.
-
"And as usual, I go willingly," Christine said, smiling.
Raoul slowly opened the door, to find Christine's room empty, and rushing over to Erik's room, which was empty as wel.
-
"I wouldn't have it any other way," Erik replied softly.
He gently kissed Christines neck.
-
"It wouldn't ever be any other way," Christine smiled, "I'd go anywhere with you."
Raoul began to panic and started frantically searching the whole house. It was empty.
-
"I wonder what he'll think when he finds you're gone," Erik said softly, smiling again.
His thoughts drifted back to the first time he'd heard and seen Christine. He smiled at the thought. Madame Giry had come down to him one day - come down into the dark domain he held beneath the Opera House. She'd told him all about the girl who'd lost her father, and had told her the fathers dieing words. She knew of his love of Music, and although it took him a while to work out why she'd told him, it had made him feel happy that she had trusted him to tell him that. He had decided that he wouldn't allow Christine to lose faith in her father, he would become her Angel of Music.
-
Christine smiled at the thought. "Not even I know what goes on inside the vicomte's head," she replied, "Obviously though he'll panic and come to some irrational conclusion."
-
Erik laughed softly. He had fun imagining the Vimcotes reaction. "No doubt he'll use every curse word against me he can think of," Erik said softly. Once again he couldn't help but laugh slightly.
-
Raoul stormed over to the stables, only to find that empty as well, except for a few annoyed horses.
Christine gave a soft laugh. "Probably."
-
"Then he'll probably sulk. Then he'll probably try and catch up with us," Erik finished.
He laughed at the thought. Sorry but for once he couldn't help but laugh at the Vimcote. It was amusing.
-
"He won't be able to though," Christine answered, smiling.
-
"Cesar can outpace any horse," Erik responded softly.
He gently kissed Christines neck again, neck reining Cesar so he could hug her with one hand.
-
Christine smiled and leaned into Erik's embrace.
-
Erik smiled. He had never ever thought that Christine would be with him...not after what had happened in his lair. Yet he was happy about it, and happy that Christine was happy. He did not wish to harm her, or make her unhappy. He wanted her to feel safe, and loved...to know love...love which he'd never known.
-
(UNGROUNDED!! *celebrates* :cow: :bad:)
Raoul nearly felt like shouting. His thoughts were blinded by panic, rage and frustration. He knew Christine and Erik would be long gone by now, but he ignored that thought and immediately went to saddle and bridle his horse.
-
(*Hums the tune for the journey to the cemetary*)
Erik kept Cesar at a steady pace. Cesar snorted, bringing his head under slightly so he wasn't leaning on the bit but instead was working activly. Despite the change in his pace Cesars movements were still smooth*
-
Raoul leapt onto his horse and trotted over to his kennel where he kept his few dogs, both as pets and hunting companions for when he went on his rare hunting excursions. He let his hounds loose and they trotted alongside Raoul and his horse as they set off at a fast pace after Erik and Christine.
-
(WHO LET THE DOGS OUT??)
*Erik smiled before giving a soft whistle. Immediatly a tan and black collie cross came bounding from the bushes. He came to run easily besides Cesar, loping along next to him.* Hello Sam *Erik said softly, smiling as he remembered how he'd bumped into Sam. Sam gave a joyful bark*
-
(LOL :P)
Raoul's hounds caught onto the scent trail almost immediately, but they kept their pace, a few lengths ahead of Raoul and his horse. Raoul was determined to catch Erik this time.
Christine looked down at Sam and smiled.
-
Sam smelt the dogs and snarled. "Find them Sam," Erik whispered. Sam turned and bounded away, double crossing the trail to confuse the scent slightly.
-
Christine watched Sam leave then looked over her shoulder at Erik. "What's going on?" she asked worriedly.
Raoul's hounds smelt Sam getting closer and became wary. They knew they outnumbered the oncoming dog but weren't sure of what was going to happen.
-
"I don't know what he's picked up but he didn't like it. I suspect our friend the Vimcote is following us," Erik responded, pushing Cesar into a canter as they reached the plains.
Sam had slipped into the undergrowth. With no warning he shot out, going for Raouls horse knowing that was most important.
-
Raoul's hounds began barking madly and tried to chase after Sam, but he was too quick. Because of the sudden commotion, Raoul's horse became spooked and suddenly reared up, unaware to Raoul who fell off. The horse bolted a short distance and Raoul slowly and painfully stood up.
-
Sam hounded the horse, scaring it, knowing if he could get it far enough away from the rider he could double back to scare the rider. And as he had no collar well.... it would be impossible to catch him.
Erik heard the commotion and laughed. "I think Sam has had success" he said softly, with his usual opera ghost smile.
-
Christine smiled. "I hope so."
The horse reared again and ran as Sam chased him. The dogs ran after Sam, causing more noise and confusion, which spooked the horse even more.
-
Sam turned sharply on the dogs leaping at them, going for the throats, a blur of tan and black and snapping jaws. He was lethal as he'd learnt to fight wolves and other dangerous creatures he'd come across as a stray.
-
The dogs retreated slightly, making attempts to fight back, giving loud yelps as Sam made contact with their bodies. The bravest of the group suddenly leapt forward at Sam, snarling.
-
Sam growled leaping at the bravest dog, teeth ripping into his flesh.
-
The dog gave a yelp and snapped at the back of Sam's neck, biting fur and flesh, but mainly fur.
-
SAm shook the dog off easily. He charged at the dog again eyes flashing, teeth snapping. The dog was getting quite a few wounds from sams teeth.
-
The dog charged at Sam. He grabbed a strong hold onto Sam's muzzle and bit hard.
-
Sam whimpered and scratched the dog hard.
-
The dog closed his eyes as Sam scratched him. He twisted his head away, forgetting to let go of Sam's muzzle.
-
*Sam snarled despite his muzzle hurting, scratching the dog viciously needing to get free*
-
The dog kept his eyes closed as Sam scratched him. He let go suddenly, whimpering. He'd had enough.
-
*Sam shook his head, blood flying everywhere. He leapt at the dog again, managing to rip out the juglar vein this time, leaving the dog to bleed to death while he turned on the others, ignoring the stinging pain from the wounds to his muzzle.
-
The dog lay on the ground, coughing and choking himself until he finally died. The other dogs watched in fear and amazement, and as Sam turned on them, they almost instantly lowered themselves to him, humbling themselves. They would rather live.
-
Sam snarled as if to say "wait here". Then he bounded at Raoul teeth showing, intent on scaring him off.
-
Raoul was rubbing his sore back as he noticed Sam running at him. He paused momentarily, looking for his horse.
-
Swiftly sam leapt at Raoul, teeth flashing dangerously.
-
Raoul gave a small shriek and ran from Sam, forgetting his horse.
-
Sam barked menacingly before turning back padding through his pack of dogs, showing his teeth at them to keep them loyal. He snarled again as if to say "follow me".
-
Raoul stopped a good distance away. He certainly wasn't walking all the way back home. Where was his horse?
The other hounds followed obediently, avoiding the body of their old companion as best as he could.
-
*Sam snapped at Raouls horse. He would not let that get away either.*
-
Raoul's horse half-reared, but stayed put.
-
Sam snarled again. He bit the horses hocks, not enough to disable it but hopefully enough to get it moving. He was careful to keep to one side so as not to get kicked at.
-
The horse kicked out slightly as he jumped. He bolted another short distance.
-
Sam barked at the horse, keeping at it, worrying and hounding it. He growled at the other dogs to help him keep it on the path he wanted.
-
The dogs obediently followed Sam's orders. The horse whinnied, still spooked, and afraid of the oncoming hounds. Suddenly, the horse bolted. He knew exactly where he was going, home. No stopping.
-
Sam shook his head before padding along the road to meet up with Erik again. He fell into an effortless lope, giving a howling call ordering the dogs to follow him and don't lag.
-
The dogs answered Sam with howls of their own and obediently kept up with him. Raoul glared at the dogs as they left, and at his horse as it ran. Slowly, he walked back home.
-
It didn't take long for Sam and his pack of dogs to arrive back to Erik again. Erik smiled laughing slightly. To him this was most humourous that Sam had managed to come back with a whole pack of dogs.
-
Christine saw the dogs and laughed as well. "Those are Raoul's dogs," she said while laughing.
-
"I thought they were. As you can tell...Sam has my sense of humour...must rub off on any animal I befriend," he said softly still laughing.
-
"Or, as it appears in this case, make all the other animals obey my every command," Christine answered smiling.
-
"Yes, Cesar has my sense of humour, Sam has my "my commands must be obeyed" hm?" Erik responded laughing.
Sam barked again, keeping his pack in order.
-
Christine smiled. "Raoul must be so happy right now," she said with a sarcastic air.
-
Erik laughed. "O yes, absolutly overjoyed" he continued in the sarcastic manner of speaking that was how he normally spoke about most people.
-
Raoul's dogs followed Sam loyally, not wanting to end up like their companion.
-
As night began to fall Erik drew Cesar to a halt. Easily he dismounted and helped Christine dismount before he removed he saddlebags and saddle off Cesars back and found a cloth that he used to just rub Cesar down. Swiftly he rubbed Cesar down before he knotted the reins. He looked at Sam and the pack of hounds.
"Sam go hunt," he ordered softly.
Sam howled, passing the orders that they were to go hunt, and to work as a team. He also gave that menacing growl that said "and any dog NOT team working will be killed personally by me". With that he bounded off, barking to get the dogs to follow him.
Erik smiled. Yes it would seem Sam DEFINITLY had picked up his skill of having his orders obeyed. Definitly the threats were there.
-
The dogs obediently followed Sam. Christine gave another slight laugh as she watched them leave. "With Sam around I don't think Raoul will be bothering us any longer," she said smiling.
(Today was definitely one of the best days of my LIFE!)
-
Erik laughed "neither do I, " he responded smiling.
-
"Which is a great relief," Christine continued, still smiling.
-
Erik smiled again "naturally."
Sam soon came across a deer clearing, he laid down to give the other dogs chance to catch up, hoping he wouldn't have to growl to tell them to keep still.
-
The dogs smelled and saw the deer almost immediately. They laid down quickly and froze, not daring to make a move.
-
Sam silently stood up and looked at them as if to say "wait until I've singled the target off" then he moved so that he would be able to frighten the deer away from his target, an old stag. Swiftly he bounded out of the bushes, snapping at the heels of the other deer, blocking the old stags route before giving a baying howl.
-
The dogs split up themselves, half continuing to chase away the other deer, the other half helping Sam take down the stag.
-
Sam leapt at the stags Jugular vein, and it didn't take long until he'd ripped it out. Sam howled to call his pack together before he picked up the stag by the neck and started to drag it away.
-
The hounds followed Sam, picking up parts of the stag themselves to help carry it.
-
"I believe from the howls the kill was made," Erik commented softly.
He worked to finish setting up camp before Sam returned. Cesar started to graze at the grass.
-
"That's what it sounds like," Christine agreed.
-
"Things could get a bit messy," Erik warned.
Sam lead the pack home, growling every so often through clenched teeth as he carried the kill back to camp with help from the pack to warn them not to eat any.
-
"I'll be careful," Christine assured Erik.
The pack followed obediently, not daring to risk trying to eat.
-
Once the pack had come to close to where camp was set up, aka in easy walking distance Sam dropped the neck snapping at the other dogs to get them to withdraw as Erik drew his skinning knife and set to work skinning the carcass. He glanced up as he heard a soft wolfish growl. Sam hadn't noticed it coming and in a second the wolf had pounced at Sam. He never got close as Erik whipped his Lasso out and tossed it round the wolfs neck and brought it crashing to the ground with a whimper. He dragged that to him and skinned that before nodding at Sam to say give that to your pack. He then lopped off the stags head and cut the antlers off before tossing that to the pack as well then setting to work to prepare the meat.
-
Christine carefully turned away as Erik beheaded the stag, not really wanting to watch.
-
Erik worked quickly. He himself hated doing this sort of thing but he knew it was the only way to live to keep oneself alive. He knew as he'd once had to live like this...when he'd ran away from home for 3 weeks. He shook his head to banish that thought. He didn't want to remember it.
-
"Is there anything I can do to help?" Christine asked.
-
Erik shook his head as he wiped the skinning knife on the grass, he'd prepared the meat. It was clear from the speed he'd done it he a) didn't really want to think of the last time he'd done it, b) he had done it more then once.
-
Christine fell silent, standing back next to Cesar.
-
Sorry for the double post, but I thought someone should know.
Natz has left AOTR, as she told me her stay here has become unenjoyable lately. I doubt she plans on returning, if she does it won't be anytime soon.
Please do with this RP what you will. It obviously cannot be continued as we were the only two people in it.
Thank you.

(Natz is BACK!)

(YESSS! *triumphant hand gesture* Hope is not lost!)
