Post by: Sirith on March 06, 2004, 04:54:21 PM
i know there was a topic somewhere like this before, but i dont know wether its been deleted or i just havent seen it, but i found it useful to know :)

whatchya do is, if you see/hear that one of the actors from LOTR or LOTR itself will be shown on tv, on any channels, you write it in here so other people know when its on so they can watch it too ;D

This is from Sean A's website :

Sean is co-starring with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore in Columbia Pictures' 50 First Dates, a romantic comedy now playing in theaters across the USA.

He is starring in Slipstream, a sci-fi feature  directed by David van Eyssen, filming in South Africa for release in 2004.

Dominic Monaghan is shooting a TV pilot called 'Lost'. (link (http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=televisionNews&storyID=4484565&section=news))
Hopefully, that will be picked up...  I mean, Ian and Dom.  Can't get much better than that. :P

Also, Brad Dourif and Billy Boyd will be providing voices for Chucky and Chucky's son, respectively, in the new Chucky move, Seed of Chucky. (here (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0387575/) and here (http://www.billyboyd.net/update/Update.asp?UpdateID=13).)

Why is Viggo's part in Daylight always cut to non-exsistant?

Everytime I see it on Channel 5, his role is reduced with each time it's shown.

Does he play a major part?
Title: Re:LOTR Actors TV/Movie watch
Post by: True_Ent on May 01, 2004, 06:16:28 PM
I dont think its a major part but its constant. If ya know what i mean. I mean i think he is in it throught but not with a BIG part. He plays a monk who provides Van Helsing with his safety of something like that i think.Provides weapons and stuff.
Having said that He is fourth on the cast list so that must indicate a fairly big part right?

P.S Check out his hair in it!!!

And another just for the fans! ;D
(http://romanticmovies.about.com/library/graphics/vanhelsingpubdd.jpg)

P.P.S. Heres a description of his part....

Quote
David Wenham, who plays Carl in the upcoming supernatural film Van Helsing, told SCI FI Wire that his character is a weapons maker for the titular hero, played by Hugh Jackman. "Carl ... is a monk who invents extraordinary weapons," Wenham said in an interview. "He's sort of like a very period Q [from the James Bond films]."

In the film, Carl gets a chance to leave his chambers and pursue adventure with Van Helsing, who is on a mission to hunt down vampires and other monsters. "He's somebody who's spent his whole entire life deep underground in this monastery, but for this particular time, he's told by his superiors to go off with Van Helsing on this mission to hunt down Dracula," Wenham said.

Channel 4 signs up McKellen's Lear  :D

Sir Ian McKellen's King Lear is coming to Channel 4.Channel 4 have bought the rights to show something that is really special.

Last year, Ian McKellen performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company in Trevor Nunn's King Lear, which was filmed for TV. It won rave reviews, and on the British Theatre website, Peter Latham enthused: "McKellen's Lear is, as he should be, a towering, dominant figure, especially in the depths of his despair and the madness it brings."

Of course, McKellen's last small screen appearance was in 2005, when he fulfilled the ambition of a lifetime and landed a role in Coronation Street.

He delighted audiences by playing scheming writer Mel Hutchwright, a couple of years after conquering the world with his portrayal of Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings trilogy

Although we will have to be patient before McKellen's back on the box, by the sound of things it's going to be worth the wait.
