Title: Link's reviews
Post by: Link on February 27, 2005, 10:36:09 PM
Hi everyone, great reviews!

I thought i'd show you some of the lotr items i've collected too over the past year (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v57/minion2k/icon_gandalf.gif)

My very first purchase from B-uk was 'Sting'

Sam: "Not if I stick you first!", this is one of the swords that United Cutlery left sharpened so it has an incredibly sharp pointy end on it which really does sting you!
Both a popular sword in the hobbit and lord of the rings, this one is a must for any lotr collection.

Next i got the sword of Gandalf 'Glamdring' which is a great companion for 'Sting'

This sword is beautiful, like sting it has a leaf shaped blade but much longer and also has a very sharp point on it.

If your only going to get one lotr sword then you have to get the daddy! 'Flame of the west'

This sword is huge, Elendil must have truely been a giant. I accidently poked a few holes in my ceiling when i first held this one! This is deffinately a centre peice to any collection and is probably the most famous/well known sword in lotr.

Here is a pic of my King Elendil helm which is a superb display peice

One of the first lotr helms to be released and my first lotr helm to own, the detail on it is fantastic it really looks like its come out of a museum, with its battle worn and aged look.

From a helm of good, this is deffinately a helm of pure evil! The helm of the Dark Lord himself 'Sauron'

When i first saw the opening scenes in the Fellowship i knew i had to get a replica of this helm. This thing is big, very big, i had to put up another shelf because it was too big for the place i had planned for it. Its very creepy and seems to follow you around the room!
Brilliant on display, even better for scaring the trick or treaters on Halloween (http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smilies/expressive/sly.gif)

Heres a comparison shot of the two helms together

At the moment i'm crazy for polystone statues! and you can't get much better then these lotr statues by Sideshow Weta. My first peice to own was the 'Morgul Lord'

This item is amazing and the pose they picked for this statue is spot on. You won't believe how much detail the Weta artists put into these, it looks very realistic and looks like its come straight out of the movie.

Well after the Morgul Lord I couldn't stop! I got these lotr busts next and each one is flawless in detail.

Above are 'The mouth of Sauron', King Elendil', 'High Elven warrior' and a 'Moria Orc'
All are fantastic and as mentioned before very detailed and life like.
B-UK/lotruk have the Mouth of Sauron in stock at the moment and i highly recommend it!

A few other little pieces i own are the minature Shards of Narsil and the Minas Tirith polystone sculpture which i got with the ROTK EE dvd, and behind them some framed ROTK film cells.

Next i plan on getting Herugrim sword of King Theoden, the Gondorian helm, Elven sword and the Mace of Sauron 'and a lot more polystone'! - hopefully i'll have room for them as slowly i'm running out of space!

Thats my lotr collection so far, hope you've enjoyed the pics.
I'd just like to thank the guys at B-uk for helping me to turn my room into a torture chamber. They are the best sword retailer in the uk with a growing selection of lotr items, and have a very helpful customer service, unlike some other places i've brought from who i'd rather forget.
Thanks Sim and Spikie, you've been good to me and have always helped me out with any problems i've had with orders.

Cheers! (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v57/minion2k/duff.gif)

WOW Link!  your room is amazing!!! Is that Aragorn's hunting knife you have there too ??? or is it another one ???

aww I love that Morgul Lord... was seriously tempted to get him.  Personally I dont think that Sideshow capture all of the characters that well, but the Witch King is just Amazing!!  Sadly, its sold out now tho isnt it :(

Okies have spoken to Linky and he would prefer it if we didn't do a homepage as he won't be able to look after it.

Hi again guys,

I have a new addition to my collection and thought i'd show it off to you.

Herugrim sword of King Theoden.

Love the horse motifs on the sword and display plaque a true blade of Rohan, this sword is very nice and the gold guard/hilt and dark red leather show that this sword was meant to be held by a king. The double fuller running down the blade is also cool, different to the rest of swords.

Heres a new pic of my lotr swords up on the wall.

...Another lotr related item that i just remembered i recently got is this Sideshow Weta bust which is of the Attack Troll that entered Minas Tirith to fight.
I forgot to take a pic of mine but heres another pic of the piece.

thats all for now folks, thanks for looking.
Next i hope to be adding the long awaited Elven warrior sword to my armoury when its released, its been in the works for two years now! so its bound to be something special, i'll be sure to post pics here of it and post my thoughts on the piece.

Thanks again to B-UK for a speedy service and for sorting that lil thing for me.

I really envy you Link.  I can't afford anything like that.  Swords, helms, ARGH!  Why can't I get money!  ANyway, where do you get your little Zelda icons?  I am a Zelda fan and they rock!
